Does NOCO Genius UltraSafe Battery Charger Need to be Plugged In to Jump Start Battery
Question:
Can subject charger/jump-starter jump start a car without it being plugged to the wall? If so, how long will it retain its charge while in the glove compartment? I have been looking at the starters alone and I am very impressed with some video reviews out there, but believe that this is a great product being also a smart charger - sort of like the best of both worlds. Will the starter function of this product be as good as the starter-alone units? Thanks!

The NOCO Genius UltraSafe Battery Charger # 329-G26000 referenced in your question is indeed a great product, however you will need to plug the unit into a standard wall outlet for operation, whether you are using it for a maintenance charge or trying to jump start a dead vehicle battery.
For a standalone starter that you can use whenever you need it, regardless of your proximity to an AC power source, I recommend taking a look at the DuraCell Jump Starter # DU37FR. This is a 900-amp jump starter that also features an integrated USB port and 12V DC outlet that you can use to charge electronic devices in a pinch. It will also inflate your tire when needed. Its indicator lights on the front of the unit will let you know the level of charge.
I have attached a short video demonstration on this unit along with the written manual that you can check out as well.
