Does the Direction of Flow Matter for MagnaFlow Catalytic Converters

Generally speaking no, the direction of exhaust gases does not matter when passing through a catalytic converter like the MagnaFlow Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter part # MF23882. If the direction of flow does matter then it will be stamped onto the body.

have catalytic converter i bought but 1 side has heat shield should i put heat shield down torward ground or up torward body of car?

The heat shield should face up to protect the vehicle's undercarriage.
