Setting the Combination for the Master Lock Safe Place Portable Storage Box # 5900D

Question:

How can I reset my code on my portable safe master lock,it is open and I can’t close it. When I got it I tried to set my own code like it directed me too, while trying I held the lever to the right while doing that I accidentally let go and it went back to the left so now it want even go back to 0000 the manufacturing code, my safe is open and want close please help so I can use my product. Thank you

The instructions to set the combination is as follows:

Open the protective cover to reveal the combination dials.
Rotate the dials to the default combination (0-0-0-0).
Push the door-release button to open the case.
Locate the light gray "set combination" lever on the top of the combination lock on the left-hand side. Move the lever to the right and hold the lever in place.
While holding the lever, move the dials to set your new combination.
Release the lever. The safe will now unlock with the new combination.

Since you released the lever, you will need to find the code you once accidentally created in order to use the box. It sounds like you make not have the set combination lever fully engaged because you should be able to shut the box with any code and just have difficulty opening it without the new combination. The fact it is open is a very good thing. You can go through this resetting of combination until you have it set and it is able to shut. I've attached a video to assist.
