Question:
2011 VW Jetta. Confused about the red wire. Should the red wire be connected to the brake wire and to ground? So far I just connected the red wire to brake wire and brake lights dont work on trailer. Turn signals and tail lights work fine.

The correct installation for your 2011 Jetta is to ground the red wire along with the white wire. You should not attach the red wire to any other wires. Once the red wire is grounded the converter will recognize the brake function and the brake lights will work normally on the vehicle and trailer.
