Will MagnaFlow Exhaust Make a 2009 Dodge Avenger SXT 2.4L Sound More Like a Muscle Car

Updated 10/02/2017 | Published 09/30/2017

Question:

Hello, I am looking to make my cute little 4cyl. have an aggressive rumble to it. Currently, it sounds like a bubble bee buzzing by. I absolutely love the rumble sound of muscle cars. The only issue, its very hard to get a good rumble out of a 4cyl engine. I was wondering if this exhaust system would sound a little beefier than the OEM exhaust system?

Generally speaking, adding MagnaFlow exhaust will change the exhaust note to one that is "deep and throaty" especially when on the gas. But there are limitations to what it can do. If you are expecting it to sound like a 440 Six Pack in a Super Bee you will be disappointed but it will be deeper than stock and not have that buzzing type of sound associated with imports. So it would sound more like a muscle car but not quite like a muscle car.

The sound is achieved by large exhaust pipes in the new system, # MF16813, as well as a muffler without any baffles that restrict airflow. The true benefit of a system like this is the fact that it is stainless steel so it won't corrode and it has a lifetime warranty. I had some put on one of my cars (it was a V8) and I would definitely outfit any of my other vehicles with MagnaFlow exhaust in the future.
