How Wide is Yakima Skybox 12 Roof Cargo Box

Question:
Can I fit the yakima skybox pro 12 side by side with a U-shaped foam 16inch kayak carrier on my 2010 Toyota Matrix XR hatchback? The Kayak carrier requires the kayak to sit bottom side down on the rigid foam which squeezes snugly on to the crossbars. Crossbar is eliptical 3inch I think and just 24inch spread thats the opening between the bars. I could get a different kayak carrier a J-rack which would give the cargo box more room. Would that allow both to fit?

Most likely a J-style rack would be your best option, but how long are you crossbars from left to right and how wide is your kayak?
The Yakima Skybox 12 part # Y07334 will take up 24 inches of crossbar space so you'll need to compare that to the width of your kayak and the length of your bars to know for sure.
