Question:

What is the maximum distance between mounting points? I have a VW Westfalia that has Thule bars mounted and they can be adjusted for distance but only about an inch total. The distance between them is 37 inches if measured from outside of each square bar. Thank you in advance.

The SportRack Horizon Rooftop Cargo Box # SR7016 will mount onto round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars so long as the bars' center-to-center spread is between 23-5/8-inches and the maximum spread of 32-1/2-inches.

Since this box will not work for your bar spread I called Thule/SportRack and my contact there suggested the Motion XT # TH629907 which will fit bar spreads up to 36-7/8-inches measured bar center to bar center. This box also offers higher volume capacity, 22-cubic-feet.
