The biggest differences between the Yakima RidgeBack, part # Y02458, and the Yakima FullTilt, part # Y02462, are the locking system, the hitch pin, and the cradle arms.
The FullTilt has fully padded arms with grooved positions that hold the bike cradles in place. The FullTilt also has a hitch pin that is integrated into the carrier shank that is operated by a push button, instead of the hitch pin being attached with a lanyard. The FullTilt also has a lock system to help secure the carrier to the hitch and also a locking cable system secures the bikes to the carrier. Both have similar weight capacities.
I have attached a couple of product review videos for these carriers you can check out.
If you decide to go with the Ridgeback, I recommend the Yakima HandCuff Bike Lock, part # Y02466. This will help secure the bikes to the carrier.
If you are planning on carrying women's bikes or bikes with alternative frames like kids bikes i recommend an adapter bar like the Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar, part # Y02531. This adapter bar attaches between the seat post and the handlebar stem and allows the bikes to be carried more evenly in the carrier while providing more ground clearance.
