Question:
I think I may have been given some wrong Info. I am hooking up a 9000# winch that could draw 360 amp, on my truck. My battery is rated for 550 cold crank amps so I think I should be OK but am going to add some type of breaker to protect and isolate the winch system. I talked to one of your techs earlier in the week about breakers for the set up and concluded that using 2 - 100 amp with 1- 150 amp previously purchased breakers would do the job. I questioned the tech about the Quick Connect Set BDW20018 that I had previously purchased from etrailer, and was assured that the 175 amp continuous rating would do the job. While searching on line for 100 amp breakers I discovered that there are 350 amp Quick Connect sets. Looking at the video it appeared that the 350 set were larger than the 175 set that I already had purchased and installed. I want to make sure that 1st what Im installing will do the job and 2nd if I purchase a 2nd set of quick connects that they will match up and work with what Ive already purchased and installed. I have a quick connect mounted in the front of my vehicle and plan to add a 2nd plug at the rear. Considering that it will be a 20 foot run I plan on using 2/0 gauge wire - that suggests that I use a BDW20169 set for 350 amp and 2/0 AWG wire. Two questions Does this set come with cases and dust cover or is it just the lugs and will it marry with the 175 set that I have or do I need to switch them out? Looking forward to hearing from you.

If the winch you are using has a 360 amp power draw I recommend using the heavier-duty quick-connect set.
I called my contact at Bulldog and they told me that the correct quick connect kit for your winch with that 360-amp draw is part # BDW20172. This will work with 2 gauge wire and would handle the winch power draw you said you have.
The connectors included with # BDW20172 are larger and are not compatible with the connectors you have with the # BDW20018 kit.
The # BDW20169 has 2 terminals only in the package. These are designed for 2-ga wire and will not work with the connectors you purchased.
