Carrying Full Sheet Of Plywood on Roof of 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
2002 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo. Factory roof rack with cross bars. I need to be able to carry 4x8 sheets of plywood, and tie them down securely. Do you carry a rack that can do this?

Since your Jeep Grand Cherokee already has a roof rack and crossbars, you should already have the ability to carry loads up to the roof rack's capacity.
If you were to remove the crossbars from your factory rack (assuming that they're removable), and add an Inno crossbar system that uses part # INXB100-2 and # INXS100, you'd have crossbars with a 165 lb capacity. However, this capacity could be limited if the actual roof of the vehicle has a lower capacity.
My fear of carrying something as large as a full sheet of plywood on the vehicle roof would be the wind trying to get that sheet to act like a sail. If a good gust of wind got under the plywood, it could break your tie downs or cause the roof rack to separate from the vehicle roof.
