I see that you were looking at the 4-pole flat to 6-way square adapter, part # 30104. This adapter is meant for Jayco campers and is not compatible with Coleman campers. I know that Coleman offers an adapter for their trailers, but I believe that it is a proprietary item that must be sourced through them. They would also be the best source for a wiring diagram.
I would first start by using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to verify that the 4-way flat connector has been installed correctly. The pin that corresponds with the brown wire should go hot when the running lights are activated. The pin for the green wire should show voltage when the right turn signal is activated, or the brake pedal is pressed. The pin for the yellow wire should go hot when the left turn signal is on, or the brake is pressed.
You will also want to make sure that the ground wire on your trailer is securely connected to clean corrosion-free metal. Having a weak ground connection can cause all sorts of problems with your trailer lights.
