Tire Chains for Use on 6.00-16 LT Tires on Snowline Tractor

Updated 02/24/2015 | Published 02/23/2015

Question:

I have a Snowline Tractor that needs chains now! It has 6.00-16 LT tires on it. Vintage 6 ply. What do you have that will fit ? The outside rubber is 87foot around, 7inch tread rubber, 28inch tall, 5 inch sidewall rubber, and I believe the 16 means 16 inch rims. if you can please measure the chins outside length and tread size cross links to outside lengths Thanks.

Thank you for the picture of your Snowline tractor for which you want tire chains to fit its 6.00-16 LT tires. Please note that the chains you referenced, Glacier # PWH2214SC, are intended for rim sizes between 17- and 19-1/2-inches. These are too big for 16-inch rims.

A suitable choice for your application on a snow tractor is a heavier-duty all-square chain like te Pewag # PWE2209SC. These will hold up much better thanks to their heavy nickel-manganese alloy steel construction and since they are reversible both sides of the chain can be used. These will properly fit your 16-inch rims.
