  • Will Reese Replacement Weight Distribution Bracket # 58392 Work with Eaz-Lift WD System
  • The Eaz-Lift weight distribution system uses spring bar lift brackets that are indeed roughly similar to the Reese replacement bracket # 58392 that you referenced. The Reese brackets clamp on to trailer frames up to 2-1/4-inches wide and occupy 5-1/2-inches of space on the trailer frame. Reese and other manufacturers do not test their products with those of other companies so I cannot say with absolute assurance that this will work to your satisfaction with your Eaz-Lift system.

  • Best Mid-Priced Brake Controller for 2013 Chevy Silverado
  • There are two categories of brake controller, time delayed or proportional. • The factory-installed integrated brake controller in your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado uses an OEM connector that is not compatible with aftermarket brake controllers from Tekonsha and others. But since there is wiring in place under the dash to allow for aftermarket brake controller installation you can still install a versatile and easy-to-use proportional controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. This is among the most popular and reliable units offered and it is shown in the linked...

  • Is Reese Lube Plate # RP83004 Needed with Reese R20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30870
  • The Reese R20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30870 that you referenced does come complete with an integrated lube plate on the hitch head. With this included feature it is not necessary to use an add-on lube plate like # RP83004, nor is it necessary to use grease. For reference I have linked a video that details the features of the excellent Reese R20 dual-jaw 5th wheel slider hitch.

  • Programmer and Monitor Recommendation for a 2013 Chevy Silverado 5.3 Liter V8
  • After handling both the Edge Programmer CS part # EP85150 and the Bully Dog Triple Dog GT part # BY40415GMC I would go for the Edge. I was surprised by how small the Bully Dog was and it gave me more than a few problems loading the tune files onto the programmer.

  • How Much Power will the Edge Evolution Programmer Give a 2013 Chevy Silverado 5.3 Liter
  • According to Edge you will see power increases of up to 20 horsepower and 20 ft lbs of torque when you install the Programmer part # # EP85150 and have it set on the highest setting. Installing a cold-air intake and catback system would be an excellent choice to maximize power and would be safe. For a cold air system you could get the part # AR200-233. To pick out a catback system follow the link I attached to the right that will take you to a page where you will be able to select...

  • Are Edge Programmers Compatible with Cold-Air Intake Systems and Catback Exhaust Systems
  • I apologize for the confusion, but I can assure you that the Edge Programmer part # EP85150 will work well on your 2013 Chevy Silverado with or without a cat-back system and/or a cold air intake system. I have spoken with Edge about this and have even had a vehicle with a programmer installed with a cold air intake and a catback system and it worked well. The modifications complement each other very well and work to maximize power. For a cold air system you could get the part # AR200-233....

  • Will Programmer Improve the Towing Performance of 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with 5.3L Engine
  • If you are looking to improve the towing performance of your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with 5.3 L engine, I suggest that you take a look at the Edge Evolution CS Programmer, # EP85150. This programmer has a specific tow tune setting which increase the line pressure to the transmission, amps up the timing, and provides a safe gain in horsepower and torque. Most owners also experience an increase in fuel economy but these gains can not be guaranteed. As to whether it is worth the investment,...

  • Adapter Recommendation for a Yakima Bike Rack for Use in a Class V Hitch
  • Since you have a hitch with a 2-1/2 inch opening you can still use the hitch bolt that came with your Yakima rack designed for 2 inch hitches. You will need to use a hitch reducer for the hitch so that it will have a 2 inch opening. For that I would recommend the part # 58102. You would just need to thread the bolt through the reducer into the rack threads and it would be secured. The bolt in the # Y8780022 isn't any longer than what you have with your current rack so it would not give...

  • Front-Mount Hitch Installation on 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
  • We do offer two front-mount 2-inch hitches for your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 including the Curt # 31322 that you referenced. We have not yet had a chance to make an installation video but the written instructions are linked for you at right. Installation requires removal of the air dam, if present, but Curt does not specify that it requires trimming, although this may be an option if you'd rather not remove it entirely. All required hardware is included and the hitch installs without...

  • Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer with a 2013 Chevy Silverado with 6 Inch Lift
  • You might be able to tow a 5th wheel trailer with your 2013 Chevy Silverado with the 6 inch lift. If it is a body lift meaning the bed is further away from the frame than a stuck truck then no. If it is a suspension lift where the frame and bed are still the same distance apart then it is possible. You will likely have to raise/lower the 5th wheel hitch height and pin box height on the trailer as needed to compensate for the lift. And if that is not enough to tow the trailer with 5 inches...

  • Landing Gear Motor that Looks Like Stromberg Carlson Only Travels One Direction
  • If you had the Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear part # LG-1 the correct switch would be the part # LG-145236. This would wire in pretty easily and would be self-explanatory once you got into the install. For a motor and a switch you would want the part # LG-217884. If you can operate the jack manually up and down but not with the switch then the problem is either the switch or the motor. Most likely the switch. If you don't have the # LG-1 and can't determine what brand gear you...

  • Rear Axle Suspension Kits for 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with 6-Inch Lift
  • To correct for the rear-end sag when you are carrying a payload in your 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with 6-inch body lift I suggest a jounce spring kit. Firestone part # F8605 will fit both 2WD and 4WD versions and installs without drilling. An installation video is linked for your review. These springs provide progressive resistance, becoming stiffer as the load on them increases. When your bed is empty these springs will not affect your ride quality, but they will engage when a payload...

  • 5th Wheel Base Rail and Installation Kit Recommendation for a 2013 Chevy Silverado and Valley Hitch
  • I have a solution for you and your Valley sliding fifth wheel hitch, but we do not recommend using base rails and frame brackets from two different manufacturers. We have seen situations where base rails from one manufacturer do not fit the frame brackets from another manufacturer because there are variances in the base rails and frame brackets. Your best option would be to install a custom fifth wheel base rail and install kit like part # C16413-204. The base rails included with this...

  • Wiring 12 Volt Power to Leer Camper Shell on a 2013 Chevy Silverado
  • You have a couple of options to get 12 volt power to the camper on your 2013 Chevy Silverado. First, if the truck has a functioning 7-Way trailer connector you can tap into the 12 volt power wire behind the 7-Way. The 12 volt circuit is in the 11 oclock position if looking at the back of the 7-Way. The other option is to get the power direct from the battery. I have included a link to a help article that explains where the 12 volt connection is made to the battery for the trailer connector....

  • How to Install the Wheel Masters Airless 4-Hose Inflation Kit on a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado Dually
  • There are two ways to mount the Wheel Masters Airless Inflation Kit, # WM80012. You can use the pop rivets to attach the L-brackets to the hub cover or you can use the flat brackets to attach them to an axle housing bolt. These are not a vehicle specific item and they were designed to fit 16 inch to 19-1/2 inch dually wheels. Check out the installation instructions I attached for this product. Since your truck has the hub covers, your best option would be the L-brackets. You will need...
