Thule AeroBlade Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram

All right today on us 2009 Dodge-Ram 1500, we going to test fit our Thule roof-rack system, were using Thule sixty inch aero blades and well be using the rapid traverse foot pack, we have roof rack already assembled according to the instructions so lets go ahead and put them on of the roof of the truck. Well start of by opening the doors and well go ahead and put our first crossbar towards thefront windshield then place first. To put the crossbar in correct spot wed need to measure from the edge of the windshield to the leading edge of the foot pack. Now, lets go by on the instructions but in this case its going to be four and a quarter inches. Okay, well go and install the second crossbar, just like we did first one except when measuring off the center of the first crossbar to properly place the second crossbar. Okay, so Im measuring the center from the first crossbar to second crossbar center well be 31 inches.

Husky Shield Headlight Protectors Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram 1500

Today on this 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 were gonna be installing a Husky Shield Headlight Guard System from Husky Liners part number HL06647.The headlight guards are a fin thats going to go over the surface of our headlights to protect them from road debris, bugs and exposure to the sun.First thing we need to do before installing the headlight guards is to prep our surface. Included with the headlight guards as well as the installation kit are small pieces of clay. These clay bars are going to be used to remove debris bugs and any embedded particles off the surface of our headlights. Weve take a spray bottle and made a soapy water solution that well use to lubricate as we run the clay across the surface to clean the headlights. Youll feel little bits of debris that are embedded in the plastic come up. Youll also feel things like bug guts and other dirt come off as you slide the clay on the surface.

Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram 1500

Today on this 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab, we are going to be test fitting a Yakima Q Tower roof rack system. We will be using a 4-pack of the Yakima Q Towers along with the Q7 clips on both the front and rear crossbars. We will also be using Yakima 58-inch round crossbars. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together and ready to install. So, first, we will open up the front doors, so we can position the front crossbar. To position the crossbar, we will need to measure 10 inches from the edge of the windshield to the edge of our Q Tower. Once we have the crossbar into position, we can go ahead and set our towers and lock them down. You will also want to check your position and make sure that the crossbar is even on both the passenger side and driver side. You do not want to have to force the door closed, but you do want it good and snug. Once we have the front crossbar in position, we can go ahead and get ready to install the rear. 0:52

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram 1500

Today we are going to install the Tekonsha Primus IQ brake controller on a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. We will also be using the Tekonsha wire harness, part number 3020-P. The Primus IQ is a proportional style brake controller. It sense how hard or how softly you are braking in the vehicle and sends the proper voltage to the trailer brakes so the whole braking action is smooth and even. It features a digital LED display and also has three levels of boosts to increase or decrease the trailer braking power as needed. It can be mounted between 0 degrees and 70 degrees nose up. And it is covered by a limited lifetime warranty. In the packaging for the brake controller, you will find the brake controller itself, as well as a fixed black plastic mounting bracket and a black metal bracket that we will not be using. You will also find a packet of screws for attaching the bracket to the vehicle and the controller to the bracket, as well as a generic harness with loose wire ends. But since we have our custom fit harness today, we will not be using that wiring. Let us head to the vehicle. 1:13

Firestone Work-Rite Load Assist Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram 1500

Today on this 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 we are going to install part number F8620 from Firestone. This is their Work-Rite Load Assist. To give you an idea of what is going on the new Firestone part actually replaces the factory bump stop right here. When you have the truck fully loaded, the only way it is going to stop is when it hits this bump stop and goes down to the axle. You can see we have got quite a bit of difference so if we put a load in the back of the truck or bounce up and down the road you can see how much travel this has. 00:28

WeatherTech Window Visor Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram Pickup 1500

We are going to be installing WeatherTech side window deflectors, part number WT80503. So, I am going to start by installing it here at the front, making sure that this piece is on the outside. We are going to the recessed areas and these are in channel visors. So we want the top sections, the thinned out portion, to go ahead and to sit inside the channel. And then with the front corner ed, we just actually want to go to t he rear section of the air deflector. When it is just sitting on top, it actually overlaps the door quite a bit. So what we are going to have to do is actually fold it down so that it can be ed into the channel. You can see there is quite a bit of flex in t he window visor. You want to make sure that you are not installing this in any weather that is under 50 degrees because that bending of the visor could actually crack the visor if it is not warm enough. 0:47

WeatherTech Mud Flap Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram 1500

Today on this 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 series pickup, we will be installing the WeatherTech mud flaps front and back, part number WT110024-120024. We are going to start our installation with the front mud flaps and we are going to start on the driver side. The first thing we want to do is go ahead and turn our front wheels all the way to the left to maximize the clearance between the tire and the fender well. Next we want to locate our mud flap. And on the back side you will see that they are marked L.H. for the left hand side and R.H. for the right hand side. We want the L.H. one for the driver side here. Before we get our installation started, we want to make sure that this area is nice and clean so that the grime does not build up in between our mud flap and our fender well. The mounting holes that we are going to be using for our mud flap are going to be this one here, into the existing hole here in the fender well. And we are actually going to remove this screw here from the bottom and reuse it to install the mud flap. 0:56

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram Pickup

Today on this 2009 Dodge Ram we will be installing the Tekonsha P3 brake controller along with the wiring harness for it, part number 90195-3020P. The first thing I want to point out is the factory installed 7-pole at the rear of the vehicle and this will be the indicator of whether or not your vehicle is going to have the factory installed brake control port under the dash. The factory 7-pole we are looking for is built into the bumper. It will have the Chrysler logo built on the front. If you do not have this plug you will likely not have the port under the dash that we are going to be plugging into. Thus will have to hardwire your brake controller into the vehicle. 00:38

Fifth Wheel Hitch Kit Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram 3500 Series Mega Cab

Today on this 2009 Dodge Ram 3500 Series Mega Cab we will be installing the signature series rail kit part number 30074. The first thing we want to do in preparation to installing our cross members under the bed is to remove our spare tire and get it out of the way so we have some more working room. The cross members we are going to be installing are going to be sitting in between the two hat channels right above the exhaust and over top of the gas tank as well. On standard models you can follow the directions to fit the cross members in from underneath the bed and just manipulate them into position. However on this mega cab model the spacing is not there for us to do that so what I am going to do is loosen up the bed and slide the cross members in from the outside of the frame directly across over the top. 00:48

EGR Bug Shield Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram 2500

Today we are going to install part number 392354 from EGR. This is a chrome bug shield. We are going to install this on a 2009 Dodge 2500 Full Size Pickup. All right we will show you where it mounts up on the vehicle itself. The bug shield is going to actually go between this part of the grill and the hood. We will slide the unit in between the hood and the grill and tighten it back up. Lets go ahead and pop the hood open and loosen the screws.

Putco Window Visor Installation - 2009 Dodge Ram

Today we are going to install part number P580178 from Putco, and we are going to install this on a 2009 Dodge Ram full-size pickup. These vent visors will install in the channel with the window, and these will actually have a little bit of adhesive on them to help them stick to the inside of the channel of the door itself. The track that the vent visor fits into is right here, all the way down. And what happens is that the adhesive on the vent visor itself will actually attach to this inside edge on top up here, inside this edge right here. So before you peel the backing off the adhesive, it is a good idea to always do a test of it first. So let us put it right in the channel and just pop it into place. Then you have a good idea of where the adhesive sticks onto the weatherstripping here.

  • Replacing Mor/Ryde Rubber Suspension on Keystone Montana 5th Wheel to Standard Axles/Springs
  • It sounds like your 2010 Keystone Montana 3400RL 5th wheel has the Mor/Ryde IS independent suspension system, which is intended to provide a better ride by allowing for more suspension travel than with standard leaf spring suspensions. I checked the Mor/Ryde service manual for this suspension system and it does indicate that one of the more likely problems with this system is a failure of the bond between the rubber and the steel plate. It further notes the procedure for replacing the...
