Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, we'll be test fitting the Sportrack 2 Bike Mounted Bike Rack, part #A30901. Our vehicle's equipped with a two-inch class three hitch. So with our adaptor installed, we're ready to fit it to the vehicle. We'll slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole and insert our anti-rattle bolt. And with our bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle and we're ready to go ahead and load it up. At this point, we'll give you a few measurements.
Our ground clearance at the back of the bike rack is 20 inches. And from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is about 10 inches. We'll now go ahead and fold the platform down and open our tailgate. And as you can see, we can gain full access opening the tailgate completely with this bike rack. We're now almost ready to load our bike.
We'll need only to open up the wheel loop straps. We can then place the bike into the wheel loops and bring the vertical bar up reinstalling the pin to hold the bar in place. We'll then bring the top bar clamp down securing our bike to the bike rack. We'll then move back to the wheel loops where we'll put the straps through the wheels and back through the bike rack. And that's it.
Our bike is loaded and we're ready to hit the road. And that completes our test fit of the Sportrack Two-Bike Hitch Mounted Bike Rack, part #A30901 on our 2012 Dodge Ram 1500.
Swagman XTC2 Wheel Mount Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Dodge Ram
Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, we'll be test fitting the Swagman XTC2 2 Bike Carrier, part number S64670. Now with our truck equipped with the 2-inch class 3 hitch, we've already installed our included adapter so we're ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. We'll begin by installing the bike rack shank into the hitch. We'll line up the hitch pin hole and insert and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight, we'll insert the safety pin on the other side which will secure our bike rack to the vehicle. Now, we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements.

Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, we're going to be test fitting the Yakima StickUp 2 Hitch Mounted Bike Rack, part number Y02420. Now, we've already gone ahead and installed our bike rack into the vehicle, tightening down our anti-rattle bolt. This is what it would look like in the stored position on your truck. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 19 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle in the stored position is 4 inches. When we fold the platform down, we'll add an additional 33 inches of overall length to the vehicle.
Yakima Holdup Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Dodge Ram
Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, we'll be test fitting the Yakima HoldUp 2 Hitch Mounted Bike Rack, part number Y02433. Now, we've already gone ahead and installed our bike rack into the vehicle and secured it with our anti-rattle device. We'll now give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 18 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is about 8 inches. We'll now go ahead and fold the platform down and attempt to open the tailgate. Before the tailgate reaches its full down position, it does come in contact with the bike rack.

At the bike rack, the ground clearance is 18 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 8 inches. We'll now go ahead and tilt the bike rack down and open our tailgate. Now, on this application, the tailgate does come in contact with the bike rack before it opens completely.

Today on our 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, we'll be test fitting the Thule Vertex 4 Bike Carrier, part number TH9029. To begin our test fit, well simply install the bike rack shank into the hitch. We'll line up our hitch pin hole and install our anti-rattle bolt. With the bolt installed, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle and now we can give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 18-1/2 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the bumper is 4-1/2 inches. We'll now go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the bottom of the bike rack.
