The key to choosing weight distribution is to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. The total tongue weight is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer when loaded and ready to tow and then adding the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the truck.

Based on a tongue weight of 320 pounds, I recommend a system that is rated for 200 to 600 pounds tongue weight. A system like the Reese SC # RP66151 would be a good choice. It comes with built-in friction sway control. You will just need to add a ball to this set up. For a 2 inch ball use # A-90 and for a 2-5/16 inch ball use # 19286. I have included a link to the installation instructions for you.

I have also included a link to our FAQ article on weight distribution and sway control and a link to our FAQ on determining tongue weight.
