Thule T2 Bike Rack has Too Much Play in the Hitch Receiver
Question:
I have the Thule T2 916XTR bike rack. I have assembled it correctly but I have so much play with my 2 inch receiver. I want to use the same locks that came with my Thule. What hallow shank nut replacement can I use with this Thule to reduce my rattle and play up/down and side to side.

The Thule T2 916XTR bike rack has a nut welded to the inside of the shank so you would not be able to use a device such as # SR25880. If the Thule threaded hitch bolt and Snug Tite lock that came with the bike rack are not taking out enough of the play then I recommend adding a secondary anti-rattle device, # BX88224. This will take out play vertically and horizontally.
Keep in mind that with any bike rack, especially heavy platform racks like the T2, there is going to be some movement so matter how much anti-rattle is used. It is the nature of the single attachment point to the hitch.
