What is the Weight Capacity for Sway Control Units Like the Ultra-Fab # UF35-946204

Question:

Which one do I get? They used to rate them by pound of the trailer. Like 6000, 8000, 10000. I have a 2014 Dodge ram 1500 and going to pull a 2016 Passport 2510RB. The dry weight is 4812 with carrying capacity 2188. I will have a weight distribution hitch on it too. The sway bar I have now says a max of 6000 pound but in your spec it doesnt say anything about weight. Nobody spec says anything about weigh? Have a Great Day.

Our manufacturers, like Ultra-Fab, now make the same unit for all trailers but state that one friction-style sway control unit can be used for trailers with up to 6,000 lb GTW. If your trailer's GTW is between 6,000 lbs and 10,000 lbs or if your trailer is 26 ft or longer, you will need two sway control units. I have included an article for you.

From the information that I was able to obtain for your 2016 Passport 2510RB, it looks like it measures 28 ft 10 in long so you will want to use two sway control units, one on each side, like the Ultra-Fab, # UF35-946204.
