Do the Reese Landing Gear part # RP500708 Require Grease Maintenance

Question:

I actually have to questions for the experts. #1. does the BD500161 Rv landing gear jack screw need to be greased and if so how is that accomplished since there are no grease fittings on the outer leg and no access to the jack screw. #2. when the motor is positioned down facing the ground can it be installed in the speed mode or will it work only in torque mode?

I spoke to my contact at Reese/Bulldog and he said that the Reese Landing Gear part # RP500708 are pre-greased from the factory and don't require you to follow any lubrication maintenance schedule. Most people just install them and they don't worry about greasing them.

If you wanted to be as proactive as possible with greasing the legs you would want to take the feet off of the legs and shoot grease up into the assembly with spray grease. Otherwise once these are installed it would be pretty hard to get additional grease up in there.

When the motors are flipped only the slow speed of 4-/2 inches per minute can be used, as compared to 9 inches per minute that the fast speed has.
