Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander

Today on our 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander we'll be test fitting the Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack System using load bars 53 inches in length, part number tharb53 and the Thule Rapid Crossroad Roof Mounted Railing Foot Pack, part number th450r. We went ahead and pre-assembled the foot pack to our load bars. Now we're ready to go ahead and place the first half of our roof rack on top of our side rails. Once we have the foot packs set on top of our side rails we'll go ahead and bring the rubber coated steel strap underneath each side rail. To make sure that we have the foot pack in the right location there's an arrow indicator on the foot pack that should be lined up with the center of our side rail. Now we want to make sure that the overhang on each side of our vehicle is identical. What Ill do is Ill measure to make sure that I have the same overhang on both the driver side and the passenger side of the Outlander. One of the things that we need to make sure is that these bars according to Thule's instructions need to be a minimum of 24 inches apart.

Today on our 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number rky1014. We'll bring around the rubber coated steel straps to the front, fit them into position and then use the Allen key to secure the front part our carrier to the front load bar. Then we want to move to the rear and fit our bracket around our rear load bar. Then we use the wing nuts to tighten down that bracket and secure our rear part of the carrier to our rear load bar. Now we need to go ahead and make sure the skewer at the front of the carrier is open and that the rear strap at the rear is open as well. We'll grab our bike, place it into the wheel cradle and drop the front fork down into the skewer. We'll secure first by tightening the skewer and then we'll move to the rear of the carrier and use the wheel strap to tighten our real wheel.
Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander

Alright today, on this Mitsubishi Outlander, we are going to install part number 118518 from Tow Ready. First thing we need to do is open the back hatch and get access to the jack storage compartment. Let us remove the door to the compartment, and we will also have to remove this pocket right here. It will just pop out. So we will take the white end of our Tow Ready harness and plug it into that. Next, we are going to work with our ground wire. We will attach it to the sheet metal right here. Now we have got to install the modular for the wire harness that will plug into the gray connector that is on the Tow Ready harness. Snap it in place. It has got an adhesive back. We will go ahead and attach it to the sheet metal behind. It is safe and out of the way. 0:54

From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground on this particular vehicle is going to be 13 inches, and from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outside edge of the bumper is going to be 2 inches. Now we will go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed on the vehicle. 0:22
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander

Today on this 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander we are going to install part number 87444 from Hidden Hitch. This will also apply to part number 75555 from Draw-Tite. First thing we are going to do is lower our muffler so we have access to the frame where our hitch will mount up. There are three muffler hangers that we have to spray down with some lubricant that will help make the removal a little bit easier. :19
Mitsubishi Outlander Questions and Answers
- Making the Connection Under the Hood of a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander for Trailer Wiring
- The connector under the hood of your 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander may not be gray. All indications suggest that there should be one connector there that will fit the harness in # 118518 so it does sound like you have the correct harness and plug. If the plug in question is located in the same location as in the video I have linked, then it is correct.

Some harnesses on vehicles can be very difficult to find. My best advice that I can give is to make sure you have plenty of light so you can see what is going on and to just be patient. It is there and you will find it eventually.

- How to Gain Ground Clearance For a Hitch Mounted Cargo Carrier on a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander
- To resolve your ground clearance issue with your cargo carrier, I would recommend getting a cargo carrier with a rise in the shank like the Draw-Tite Cargo Carrier, # 6500. I am not aware of a trailer hitch with a 2 inch receiver that will fit on your 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander.
One thing to keep in mind when using a hitch adapter to convert a 2 inch shank to a 1-1/4 inch receiver is that the tongue weight capacity of your trailer hitch will be reduced by 50 percent. Like you stated, I am sur

- Will a Trunk Mounted Bike Rack Work on a 2007 Mitsubishi Outlander
- What you have heard is correct, none of the rack manufacturers recommend using a trunk mounted bike rack on your vehicle. In order for the top connecting straps to fasten to the top of the liftgate, they must pass over the spoiler at the top of the liftgate. The manufacturers have found that this spoiler is not strong enough to bear the weight of the rack plus the bikes loaded onto it. Attempting to install and use a trunk mount rack on the 2007 Outlander would most likely result in the spoiler

- Where is the Grey Connector Under the Hood of a 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander to Install Trailer Wiring
- You are going to have remove the battery hold down bracket and carefully move the battery just enough so that you have access to the rear of your headlight assembly.
There should be a grey 4-pin harness taped to a harness behind the vehicle headlamp. It will probably be out of plain sight and will require a little bit of exploration of the area to find it but you will eventually find it.

This harness connects to some pre-wired components on the vehicle which does not affect the tail lights on the vehicle so it will not produce excessive draw on vehicle LED tail lights and it will work fine if the trailer has LED, or incandescent tail lights. - Yes. A bad ground connection can cause all sorts of wiring issues including not allowing the system to work at all. If there is a bad ground, the circuit will not be completed or it would only work intermittently. The ground should be connected to a clean bare metal surface that is free of corrosion.

- Why The Axles Cannot Be Rotated and Original Spring Seats Be Reused When Flipping Trailer Axles
- The reason you will not want to rotate the axle and just reuse the spring seat is because there is a bow to the axles that flattens out as the weight of the trailer is applied to the axle that if you rotated the axle, the bow would flip and the alignment of the trailer tires would be way off and you would encounter problems with how the tires wear and with overall trailer handling.
This is why the Dexter Trailer Springs Over-Under Conversion Kit # K71-385-00 that you referenced includes an ad

- Lowering Exhaust to Install Hitch on 2008 Mitsubishi Outlander
