Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

I ordered a hidden hitch trailer hitch receiver and the wiring kit for the trailer lights for my Mazda 5 and was amazed at how easy they were to install. The videos that etrailer.com provides are invaluable and watching them answered all my questions. I will highly recommend etrailer.com to anybody who looking for anything trailer related.

by:

Great design. Very easy to install.

by:

Great fit, great price, fast installation, will order from again.

by:

Easy, fast and friendly. I am a repeat customer.

by:

Great hitch. Easy to install. Thanks for posting a how-to video, that helped.

by:

Great product, great price, installed easily.

by:

Package was delivered on time and hitch was easy to install....except for trying to drill the 1/2 inch holes....can't believe how hard it was to drill these holes.

by:

This product is great and installation was a breeze. I would recommend making the hole slightly larger so that the fishing wire does not get stuck when pulling the bolt through. Great product highly recommend.

by:

easy to install, all you need is a drill, 1/2 inch drill bit (metal grade) and about 40 minutes of your time. the rest of the parts and detailed instructions are included. very easy project.

by:

Great Hitch For Great Price! The hitch fits so perfectly that without the Drawbar on it it is hardly noticible, Very easy to install! Its a black hitch on a black car so that helps, It ends up being the perfect height with raised drawbar to tow a Jet-Ski, Great Product. Would Recommend.

by:
2010 Mazda 5

Ordered the hitch and wiring harness Friday night, installed the hitch very easily the following Tuesday night. Drilling out the holes was the hardest part, I would recommend getting the 1/2 bit used in the instructional video on this website.

by:

Great product at a great price. The video they have loaded on their website made installation painless!

by:

This product was better than advertised and the installation was as simple as the video stated it would be. Etrailer was easy to work with, and got me my order quickly. I recommend this Hitch Receiver and using etrailer if you are looking to purchase one.

by:

Installation on my Mazda5 was very straight forward. I agree with others, it took slightly longer than they directions estimated. It was also easier to drill the hole twice, enlarging it each time to the completed size.

by:
2010 Mazda 5

Easy to install, a little bit of hole enlargement and the hitch was easily installed.

by:

Quick delivery and easy installation. The hitch mounts very close to the car so it looks vary clean.

by:

As advertised, great price, quickly shipped, good packaging, and excellent how-to video on line. I cant wait to install tomorrow. Highly recommend buying from etrailer!

by:
2008 Mazda 5

Fast Delivery, Excellent Product, and the installation tool (wire snake) was amazingly effective! all for a good cost.

by:
2009 Mazda 5

Ordered trailer hitch and wiring set. Came in a timely fashion and was easy to install because of video on your site. I would highly recomend your services.

by:

The install was a breezeThey went the extra length to provide you with a slick wire feed for getting the mounting bolts into place. My only addition would be to make the holes a hair bigger than they mention, and the wrench sizes mentioned aren't correct.

by:

Hitch is very high quality, it was shipped super fast. Installation video is very useful. etrailer.com is definitely a company I would buy from again.

by:

10 min install!!! Absolutely perfect. Of course I have all the right tools to enlarge the holes, but installation was easy. Follow the video.

by:

EZ InstallI had no problems installing this. I used a grinder vs. a drill to enlarge the mounting holes. A drill bit can get stuck.

by:

Great fitThis hitch is just as advertised. The only thing that caught me by suprise was the weak looking bumper on my 5. This hitch is diffently a class I. I recommend!!

by:

Very easy to install. Took me awhile to figure it out, but when enlarging the existing holes, start off with a 3/8" drill bit first then onto the 1/2" drill bit. Believe me, it'll make the job a little easier.
After all is said and done, the hitch looks great.

  • How To Carry 4 Bikes On A 2008 Mazda 5
I do have a couple options for you but Class I hitches like the Draw-Tite Class I Sport Frame part # 24773 that fits the 2008 Mazda 5 are designed to only carry 2 bikes because of it's limited tongue weight rating. The weight of the bikes and bike rack is all considered tongue weight on the hitch and putting 4 bikes on a rack in a Class I hitch would create too much leverage and possibly damage the hitch or vehicle. With that being said, I recommend to get a 2 bike rack for the Class I...

Reese multi-fit trailer hitch 37042 will not fit the 2012 or 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan. The hitch was made obsolete 6 years ago in 2009 so they would not even be able to test the hitch since it has been out of production for so long. I have included a link to the trailer hitches that will fit either a 2012 or 2013 Dodge Grand Caravan for you.

  • How Many Bicycles Can I Carry With The Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24773 On My 2008 Mazda 5
With the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 24773, you will be limited to carrying 2 bicycles. The reason for this is because the Draw-Tite Hitch is a Class I hitch, and cannot handle the amount of torque from a third bicycle plus the distance of how far the bike will sit out from the vehicle. The weight and distance will put a great amount of torque on the hitch that could damage the hitch or your vehicle. All of the hitches available for the 2008 Mazda 5 are Class I 1-1/4 inch hitches....

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2007 Mazda 5 to Carry 3 or 4 Bikes
All of the trailer hitches for the 2007 Mazda 5 are Class I trailer hitches. This means that at most you can only carry 2 bikes using a hitch mount bike rack. This is because Class I trailer hitches are not rated high enough to withstand the additional stress put on the hitch from a third or more bikes. To carry up to 3 bikes you can use a trunk mount bike rack. I have included a link to the 3-bike trunk mount bike racks that will fit your 2007 Mazda 5. Three bikes is the most you should...

  • Is a Hitch With a 2 Inch Receiver Available for a 2010 Mazda 5?
There are no hitches available for a 2010 Mazda 5 that have a 2 inch receiver. Each of the three available hitches, such as the Draw-Tite # 24773 have a 1-1/4 inch receiver and are Class I rated. • Recommendation for Carrying 4 Bikes on a 2007 Mazda 5
We cannot recommend installing more than 2 bikes on any of the Class I hitches that we carry. The manufacturer warranty would be voided and the weight of the items, and combined with the distance from the hitch cross tube, it could potentially damage the hitch or vehicle frame. A good 2 bike rack for the hitch would be the Thule Camber Bike Carrier, item # TH9058. You do have options for carrying 4 bikes though. With Class I hitches you have to use the recommended ball mount for it otherwise the hitch warranty would be voided. So for the Draw Tite part # 24773 which is a fit for your 2010 Mazda 5 you would need the part # 3593 which is a confirmed fit and would work well. It has a rise of 2-1/8 inches and has to be used in the rise position. So this would get you very close to what you need and it doesn't void your warranty so it would be the best option. • Why It Is Not Recommended to Carry More Than 2 Bikes with a Class 1 Hitch
When you carry more than two bikes it becomes more an issue of leverage of the weight than it does overall weight. That third bike may not weigh much, but since that additional weight will be at such a far distance from the hitch pin hole that weight will apply a lot of leveraged torque on the Class I hitch that can not handle the force and could potentially damage hitch/frame of your vehicle. That is why if you install this Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24773 and plan...
