Today we are going to review part number SWW-06. This is the 5th Airborne Custom Wedge for B & W Fifth Wheels. Now this wedge is designed to work with the Sidewinder and 5th Airborne Sidewinder pin boxes. This will replace the universal wedge that comes with the Sidewinder and the 5th Airborne Sidewinder. It is a custom wedge. It is designed specifically to fit the B & W hitches. It's made for the B & W Patriot, which attaches to rails, and the B & W Companion, which is for the Ford and the Ram OEM systems that have the 4-puck attachment. This wedge, when it's installed, will prevent the pivoting at the the fifth-wheel hitch draws.
Basically, when it comes with a nice set of instructions, comes with the 2, 5/8 inch bolts and lock-washers. Basically, when you go to install this, what you want to do is, the narrow end here of the wedge, will point towards the front of the pin box. The recessed part right here is facing down. This will go on to the pin box. Put your bolts up through there. Do the same there, and then you'll go ahead tight those down.
You just snug them, you don't want to tightness then all the way down until you slide your Sidewinder into the hitch itself. Once it's in there, you adjust it correctly and torque it down to the correct specifications. Once that's installed, that'll keep it from rotating at the fifth-wheel head, and it'll rotate where the pin box or the Sidewinder is attached. That should do it for the review on part number SWW-06. This is the 5th Airborne Custom Wedge for B & W Fifth Wheels. .
This one is working spot on with my be companion
Worked, However the spot weldment in the slot was a bit to close to the front of the slot. The washer just barely touched the weld when the wedge was slid into position in the V of the 5th wheel head plate.
Works like it should with a B & W hitch. Unfortunately I don't use it anymore because in order to get hitched up you have to be perfectly lined up in order to get the hitch to lock around the king pin.
The wedge I bought for my Reese Sidewinder fifth wheel hitch is a pretty simple product, so it works great. It's basically a custom-made, wedge-shaped piece of steel for my 16 k B&W hitch, which keeps the trailer from rotating on the hitch. I was glad to be able to get the exact part I needed through etrailer. More importantly, I have gotten some really good help and advice from the folks there at etrailer.
I have a Turning Point pin box on my 5th wheel. This is the wedge to use. No problems after one year.
Follow up to my comment. My Turning Point pin box has started to sag and creak so, I have removed the wedge and stabilized the pin box. I am going to try towing with the pivot point at the hitch. I have my B&D hitch set at the rear most setting so hopefully there will be no issue with my short bed Ford 6 3/4 feet

Although I have not installed the wedge yet I have test fit in the hitch and it appears it will resolve my issue providing a better fitment between the hitch and the pin box.

The custom wedge works great.
The wedge itself is of great quality but if you're buying this for use on a Reese sidewinder be advised that the bolts provided are too small to attach the wedge to the sidewinder. In addition, the channel on the wedge is too narrow to accept the correct fitting bolts. I had to do quite a bit of grinding to make the wedge work with the sidewinder hitch.

5th Airborne Wedge fit perfectly on pin box for B&W BWRVK3300 hitch receiver on truck. Together they work flawlessly. Excellent products!!!!

Still working great. This wedge works perfectly. Definitely a little tricky to hitch and unhitch because there is no room for error because you have to be lined up perfectly but this combination with the Sidewinder and my B&W companion is working great.
Paint is chipped off on sides and looks like this might of been used to fit on a hitch and returned. It does not looked "used" just the paint is scratched off on each side like it was fit into hitch but not used.
Awesome 5th wheel hitch. Easy to install and remove for a clean bed. Combined with a sidewinder pin box i can make 90 degree turns with standard bed silverado.
Works awsome. I used the universal one (that came with my trailer) for 6 trips and it started to damage my hitch. This one has not left a single mark. It is solid and easy to install.

Works well, the B&W hitch pulls it in to a solid locking position.
This wedge does not fit the Reese Sidewinder. The bolts supplied with the wedge are 5/8. The threaded bolt holes on the Sidewinder pin box are 3/4. See review by Gary on 2/12/24. The needed 3/4 bolts will not fit through the slot on the wedge. I took the wedge to a machine shop to have it machined to receive 3/4 inch bolts. The wedge itself fits perfectly into the B W companion hitch.
sometimes it's hard to get hitch to lock. has put some gauges in 5th wheel. works good most of the time, tight fit.
Fits perfectly for use on a B & W Companion 3600 hitch.
This was needed for a Sidewinder hitch and it works perfect as designed.

Still have the pin box stabilized. One of these days Ill it down and see if there is a beefier bearing I can put in there
