Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

by:
2011 Ford Van

The hitch fits ok. The video of the installation is a little deceiving. It take a person with a very small hand to reinstall the top two bolts.

by:

Quick and easy website!I ordered my hitch and accessories late monday and recieved them all on Friday, awesome turn around time!

by:
2011 Toyota Yaris

The fit was perfect for my 2011 Yaris. The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I had to use a racket end wrench to tighten the top bolts. There was not enough room to get a socket up in there.

by:

Great product. Easy enough to install. This is the 2nd hitch I have purchased from etrailer and am, once again, extremely satisfied!

by:

Have not used the products yet. However, the price couldn't be beat and the shipping was extremely fast.

Good product. Fit under bumper is excellent. Two of the four mounting bolts are very difficult to reach but can be installed with patience and small fingers.

2008 Toyota Yaris

Hitch was in perfect shape, very easy to install. Instructions on how to remove bumper could of been better with 1 or 2 more pictures. Install took less than 30 minutes total.

by:

The wiring harness pigtail was too short to connect to the vehicle.
I had to add a foot of wiring to the vehicle side of the little box.
Yaris 3 door hatchback.

by:
2007 Toyota Yaris

Hitch bolted in with no problems -- perfect match. The only thing I would change -- spend the extra money for the powered wiring kit.

by:

The product was exactly as described and went on within an hour, including the time for me to find my jacks stands, wrenches, etc. I did break the plastic fastener that holds the fascia, but one zip tie cured that issue. Thanks, eTrailer.

  • What Does Draw Tite Hitch for 2010 Toyota Yaris Hatchback Weigh
Hey Donald, the Draw Tite hitch part # 24819 that fits your 2010 Toyota Yaris that has 4 doors and a hatchback weighs 14 lbs.

  • Conical Tooth Washer Placement for Trailer Hitch Installation on a 2010 Toyota Yaris
The washers that are included with trailer hitch # 24819, are conical tooth washers similar to # 01292006-020-01. You are correct, they are sort of bowl shaped. The tooth end goes towards the hitch. I have included a link to the installation instructions for the hitch. Using a thread locker like Loc-Tite, # LT37643, can be done but it is not necessary. The conical tooth washer prevents the bolt from backing out.

  • Installation Differences Between Curt, Draw-Tite and Hidden Hitch Models for 2010 Toyota Yaris
After looking over the installation instructions for both hitches, it appears that installing the Curt Class I receiver, part # 11060 might be a bit easier than the Draw-Tite model. The upper bolt holes for the Draw-Tite will be a bit difficult to reach, and the hitch must be rotated upwards to maneuver it behind the bumper fascia. The Curt receiver simply attaches to the inside of each frame rail. The install times mentioned all three hitches are identical. If I had to choose, I would...

  • Hitch to Fit 2010 Toyota Yaris 5-door Hatchback
There are several hitches designed for the 2010 Toyota Yaris 5-door Hatchback, but none of them are specifically for the RS bumper cover. I see that they all mount right against the standard bumper cover. After reviewing the installation video it is unclear if it requires a slight modification for the RS. If it did it would be very low under the bumper mostly. I have included a link to that video. I prefer the Draw-Tite # 24819 hitch you selected as installation should be a little easier...

  • Will Curt Hitch and Drawbar fit a 2007 Toyota Saris?
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11060 will fit your 2007 Toyota Yaris if it is a sedan and not a 3-door hatchback. The correct ball mount for this hitch is the Curt # C45521, for which you'd also need a pin and clip, # F-4. Keep in mind that using this hitch would require the use of Curt's support straps # 18050 for non-trailer loads or you would void the warranty. Should you have a hatchback, I highly recommend using the Draw-Tite # 24819. It will not require the use of any stabilization...

Actually, there are 4 trailer hitches available for the 2010 Toyota Yaris Sedan. I have included a link to them for you to view. And you are correct, both the Draw-Tite # 24819 and the Hidden Hitch # 60209 (no longer available) will fit. The difference between these two is that the Hidden Hitch, # 60209, comes with the correct ball mount, pin, and clip. With the Draw-Tite Hitch, you would have to purchase them separately. You actually save a little money when going with the Hidden Hitch....

You can also use # 24819 and it will have the receiver showing but the cross tube will be hidden. • Can a Toyota Yaris Support a Dirt Bike and Carrier
You are correct, your dirt bike and carrier would exceed the weight rating of any trailer hitch for the Toyota Yaris. There is also important information that you should be aware of when carrying additional cargo with your Yaris. In the United States market, Toyota recommends against installing a trailer hitch for any type of hitch mounted accessory such as a bike, motorcycle or cargo carrier, at least on models from 2005 to the present. In the Canadian market, Toyota allows for the installation...

  • Can I Tow with a 2008 Toyota Yaris Hatchback
All of the hitches we offer for the 2007 Toyota Yaris are Class I types intended for light-duty use, such as for attaching a bike carrier or cargo basket. Based on my research the 2007 Yaris is not rated for towing (nor are certain other Toyota models such as the Prius). You will want to refer to your owners manual or speak to a local Toyota dealer for guidance before attempting to tow any trailer. Your Toyota dealer can provide information regarding any potential engine or transmission...

  • Why Is There No Tow Rating On The 2010 Toyota Yaris
Toyota does not rate this vehicle for towing; this could be due to limited engine or transmission capacities, frame strength, ground clearance (only 5.5 inches) or all of the above. The availability of a hitch for a certain vehicle does not necessarily mean that vehicle can tow. Hitches are available for many non-tow-rated vehicles to enable use of accessory items like bike carriers and cargo baskets. Despite your prior experience I cannot advise you to operate your vehicle in a manner...

  • Will Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24819 Fit a 2007 Toyota Yaris S Sedan
If your 2007 Toyota Yaris S does not have the Aero package then the Draw-Tite trailer hitch # 24819 should fit fine. If it does have the Aero package you will most likely need to trim the area on the added fascia where the hitch receiver will be. If you plan on doing some towing, be sure to consult your owners manual to determine if you can tow with the Yaris. If you can, the correct ball mount is # 3593 and you can use pin and clip # PC2. Yes, you will need to route a 12 volt power wire to the battery of your 2007 Toyota Yaris when installing a trailer wiring harness; there is no way around this as that is the only way for power to get to the converter, which is needed for the harness to work. I have added a link below to a help article which gives details on the best way to route the power wire. • Can Tow Bar Wiring on 2007 Toyota Yaris be Used to Tow a Trailer
No the tow bar wiring harnesses do not work in reverse. In other words if you were to plug in a trailer nothing would happen. You would need to install a regular trailer wiring harness in your 2007 Toyota Yaris. If your Yaris is a sedan you can use wiring harness # 118517. If it is a hatchback then you would need a hardwire harness instead; # 119178KIT.
