Ballmounts are available for any trailer , from chrome to camouflaged, from powder coated to stainless steel. Some are available with an adjustable platform and others with all three hitch balls already welded in place. However when selecting your ballmount, be sure to match the weight capacity and ball height with that of your trailer. Ballmount Categories

Class I Ballmounts: Class I ballmounts require a hitch ball with a 3/4" diameter shank to attach a trailer. The ballmount is designed to fit the manufacturer's specific class I applications and the limited lifetime warranty can be voided if a ballmount other than the one recommended by the manufacturer is used. Class I ballmounts are rated up to 2,000 lbs. GTW and 200 lbs. TW. Use the hitch hunter fitguide to find the specific drawbar for your trailer hitch.

Class II Ballmounts: Class II ballmounts require a hitch ball with a 3/4" diameter shank to attach a trailer. The ballmount is designed to fit the manufacturer's specific class II applications. The limited lifetime warranty can be voided if a ballmount other than the one recommended by the manufacturer is used. This will void the warranty of the hitch and ballmount. Class II ballmounts are rated up to 3,500 lbs. GTW and 300 lbs. TW. Use the hitch hunter fitguide to find the specific drawbar for your trailer hitch.

Class III & IV Ballmounts: These ballmounts can be used with any 2" x 2" trailer hitch. Class III ballmounts will use a hitch ball with a 1" diameter shank, while class IV ballmounts will use a hitch ball with a 1-1/4" diameter shank. The weight capacity of the towing system will be limited to the lowest capacity of any of the parts. A class IV ballmount will not increase the towing capacity of a class III trailer hitch because it will be limited by the total capacity of the class III hitch. Class V Ballmounts: Class V ballmounts are designed for heavy duty towing. They are rated to tow up to 12,000 lbs GTW and 1,200 lbs. TW. Class V ballmounts only work with class V trailer hitches that have a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" receiver opening. Class V ballmounts also use a trailer hitch ball with a 1-1/4" diameter shank to attach the trailer.

Stainless Steel & Aluminum Ballmounts: Stainless steel and aluminum ballmounts are designed to retain their clean finish and eliminate rusting.

One Tool Torque Ballmounts: Master lock makes replacing your trailer hitch ball quick and easy. If you use a one tool torque ballmount and a one tool torque ball, you won't have to worry about getting out two wrenches to remove the hitch ball. Simply grab a single wrench and you are ready to go. One tool torque ballmounts use a pin to hold the trailer hitch ball in place while the nut is being tightened down or removed. This allows for you to use a single wrench to remove or replace a ball on your ballmount.

Cushioned Ballmounts: The cushioned ballmount is designed to help reduce the jolts that happen when towing a trailer. These jolts happen during starting, stopping, or when driving over rough terrain. Cushioned ballmounts help make towing a trailer more comfortable and make starting and stopping much smoother.

Balls: If you tow a trailer you will need the correct trailer hitch ball and ballmount to match your specific trailer hitch. Balls come in different ball sizes, shank diameters and shank lengths. Interchangeable balls are also available to make switching from one ball size to the next quick and easy.

Pin & Clip: After you get the correct ballmount you will want to pick out the correct pin and clip. Class I & II drawbars use 1/2" pin and clip (PC2) or a hitch locks. Class III, IV, & V ballmount require a 5/8" diameter pin and clip (PC3) or a hitch lock can be use on Class III & V ballmounts. Class V hitches can be locked with a 5201 lock.
