Video Transcript for Rain-X Weatherbeater Wiper Blades Installation - 2012 Mazda 6

Hi there. Mazda owners. Here your 2012 Mazda 6, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install rain-x's weather beater wiper blades. And while these wiper blades from rain-x they're gonna operate just fine. Everything seems very good here. But in my personal experience with these bladed style ones that have pressure points on them, over time, I found that they tend to chatter.

We'll see how these rain-x, live up to the test here. I've lived here. I used them for a while, but that's just something I've noticed of that particular style of blade. Rain-x does offer the beam style here. And with this, it's very flexible and it just seems to give a more natural curve to your windshield.

And I've noticed that these just tend to chatter a lot less, and if they do have it on maybe a little dry spot when it's just kind of mist it out there. That's when I noticed it more on those styles, particularly, but when it gets dry, it's not uncommon to have a little bit of a chatter as it's hitting a dry spot on your windshield. With these, if they do happen to hit that, we get a little bit of a chatter, it's significantly less noisy than what these blade style ones are. So this is going to give you a very similar performance as these, but I like it even better just because it gives a little bit better contact to the windshield. It's a little bit quieter.

I just find these tend to last a little bit longer, and I liked the locking mechanism here. If you put it on and you check it to make sure that it's secure, usually there's never an issue with it coming loose, but that extra lock tab, there's just a little bit of a, kind of a good warm feelings that I know that it's in place. Wiper blades are one of those things that you don't realize you need to replace it until you're in that situation where you're having a hard time seeing in an inclement weather. And you just got all these streaks and you're like, man, this is just really making things difficult for me to drive at night or just in any kind of inclement weather. So, if you've got any kind of streaks or anything like that, or if you're coming up on a safety inspection, a lot of states require a safety inspection and wiper blades are actually one of the things that'll fail on your inspection.

The inspector will check your blade and make sure that it's not torn all the way across. And it's pretty typical for an older wiper blade to tear here at the edge. So you can check that yourself by just running your finger along the edge, just like that. not pushing hard, just gently and see if that tears away, again I'm not pushing hard. You don't want to try to tear it away. Just want to see if it moves, if it's nice and secure. And there's a good chance that those blades are going to pass an inspection, but they may still streaks. You always want to check that operation. If we take a look at the blade a little closer, here on our wiper, we can see it's the same on each side. You'll get that same nice, streak free wipe in both motions, whether it's going this way on the windshield or back down to the resting position. The blade is made of a rubberized material that is resistant against UV rays. So, it's nice that this is something that sits out here in the sun for many hours, especially if you're at work, I'd say eight hours a day. It's sitting outside getting the sun beating on it. So, it's nice that they've put the proper protections inside of it. So you do get a good nice long service out of this blade before it does wear out. And these micro blades are designed to just snap into your traditional wiper arm. But there is an adapter that comes included with it. That gives you a couple of different positions and options for various manufacturer wiper arm styles that is out there. Now I will say this doesn't work with every single vehicle. I have had a couple of vehicles that do have a specialty style adapter that these aren't going to work with. But the majority of vehicles out there, I'd say probably greater than 90%, you're going to be covered with this adapter or the traditional style that's made into the blade. So, let me cover some of the features of our wiper blades. Why don't we take a look at how to get them installed The first thing I want to do in replacing your wiper blades is determine the appropriate size. We do have a fit guide here at etrailer, so you can just plug your vehicle into our fit guide, and that should bring up the appropriate size wipers for your vehicle. But if it doesn't or if you just want to measure yourself, so you know that we're going to give you, you getting the perfect part. You'll just measure the length of each wiper blade. It's not uncommon for them to be different. Some vehicles are the same size, for both driver and passenger side blades, but many are different sizes. The vehicle here this Mazda 6, does have two different sizes. So we've got a 24 inch to replace our driver's side blade and an 18 inch to replace the passenger side. The wiper arms, do attach the wiper blade a little bit different depending on your particular vehicle. On the Mazda here though, it's a fairly standard style. If it's a traditional, just a regular wiper blade. Usually there's just a tab here at the back that you'll have to press on. You can see the tab right here and you'll just press on that tab. And then you'll slide it down the shaft to release it, on this particular blade we've got installed on here. It's got a lock tab on it. So you just check to see if you do, you can tell if it's got a lock tab, because normally if you just press this and slide it back, there'll be an open cavity here to allow it to slide back to release it. But this one, you can see this lock tab prevents it from sliding back. We'll just take our screwdriver and just pop that tab up like that. After you release your lock tab, press in on that release tab here at the back, and then slide your wiper blade down the shaft. Once it slides down so far, you'll be able to pull the blade off to remove it. After you remove your blade, gently set it down against the windshield because it's spring loaded here. So you don't want to leave it up, right Like this, the wind or something hits this that spring would, boom, and it'll bring this down. It'll smack and you'll more than likely damage your windshield. So we want to make sure we set that back down. So that way it's in place there where it's nice and safe, we'll then get our new blades out. We're gonna get those installed. So here we got our new wiper blade out of the box. You can see it's this kind of a traditional style wiper blade from rain-x. It has a traditional attachment. There's no lock on this one. So this is a fairly standard wiper arm here. This is kind of an economical one, but being from rain-x, they put a little bit of engineering into it to give you a little bit better performance than just your regular wiper blades off the shelf there. Compared to your traditional arms, these usually have a little bit more contact points. So you can see each point here where it contacts to put force on the windshield to help it contour properly to your windshield. And there's an anti-friction bar inside that helps it glide smoothly across your windshield. But other than that, it is kind of a fairly standard wiper blade. So let's go ahead and get it installed here. This is where it slides into place. The rounded edge there is going to be the rounded edge that goes inside of the arm here. So we're just going to take this, lift it up, take our wiper. We're going to push that through the opening and then just slide the wiper down the shaft until it clicks into place. After it clicks in, I always like to take it, just kind of give it a little rock, back and forth because the last thing you want is your wiper arm to slide down when you're in a inclement weather. So just want to make sure it is clicked in all the way that all looks good. We're just going to gently set that back down and we're going to repeat the same process for the other arm, again that might be the same size, or it might be a different size. So we've got them installed. Let's try them out and see how they work. And that looks pretty good. We've got a nice, streak free, swipe across the entire windshield. I don't really see any streaks. It looks like it did a really good job, and that completes our installation of rain-x's weather beater, wiper blades on our 2012 Mazda 6..

They are very lightweight, I hope they don't lift off the windshield at highway speed.

Got it quickly, and it's just what I needed. Thank you!

An excellent product that has worn well and held its shape much better than WeatherTech (from past experience). A small ding would be that the computer generated form is slightly off, rendering the cut-out for the gas cap release a bit problematic. It’s still a very handsome product, no real regret ask

I want to thank the associates for their great customer service. the order was back logged which etrailer had no control over. But kept in contact and let me know the status of the product husky floor liners for 2017 Chevy Cruze exactly what it described perfect fit look forward to doing business in the future thanks so much.

by:

My 2018 Subaru Crosstrek has the gas tank release lever on the driver floor side and this mat has a cutout option to allow for this feature. The mat fits perfectly, they grip the rug and the mat surface is not slippery. Satisfied with the product.

by:

Installed in my 17 Dodge ram today. They look great. Fit good. But best of all, I'm glad it'll keep all the dirt and sand in them instead of the carpet. Great product. Thanks etrailer. Will continue doing business with you.

by:

These Husky floor liners fit my 2013 Tundra like a glove. I can quickly destroy the inside of truck, but with these floor liners my carpets will always look like new. Love these things!

by:

Was SHOCKED AT HOW FAST I GOT MY MERCHANDISE!!!
I
was glad to get a reply the next day, especially since it was the weekend.
But then I got an email telling my order was shipped and would be there in a few days, which I just rolled my eyes! Yeah right!
THEN, there was my order!
Great experience and will shop with them again.

Etrailer has surpassed all my expectations. Exteremly fast shipping, great follow and a great product. The mats fit perfect and I had them in 2 days! WOW!

by:

Super easy to install I mean fit like a glove I really like them and I used weather tech a lot of the time but I recommend these for sure now . Took a few pics of truck after installed

by:

These are the ‘old style’ Rain-X wipers with real rubber wiping edges and the tried and true vented multi-flex body that attach via simple J hook to the wiper arms. I GREATLY prefer these to the newer offerings from just about all sources that have synthetic wipes. Wipe the rubber monthly with some Ru-Glyde on a paper towel and get a year of trouble free use out of them, and for nice clean windshields. The ‘latest model’ and ‘new features’ do not trump the old rule of if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
These are getting harder to find at locations that usually carry them so I was pleased to discover them available at etrailer.

by:

Not only are etrailer's prices competitive, the shipping time was fantastic! My wipers were in brand new and in great condition and are working like a charm! The only suggestion I would have is to trim down the packaging. I received a box big enough to hold a computer monitor - I was so confused when it arrived at my doorstep, only to find to small wiper blades inside. I think it's a bit wasteful.

by:

I live in Texas in a very hot area. Temperatures are usually 90+ degrees. I purchased the product about a year ago and still find the product works great. Although it does not rain as often as it does further north in the US, the times when it does rain it works great. I would recommend a product to anyone.

by:

I ordered the Husky front floor mats for my 2015 town and country van .I am really satisfied with them the mats fit great are are of excellent quality. I ordered the tan mats they go good with my light brown carpet and the rest of my interior. Thanks for making such a great product.

by:

I have to say, that when I originally considered buying my Husky floor mats instead of WeatherTech floor mats, I was a bit concerned about the ole 'you get what you pay for' factor. We had used WeatherTech in our Lexus SUV and had been very satisfied with them. I was particularly concerned that the Husky's costed about 35% less than the WeatherTech's. However, here it is one year later and I am FULLY satisfied with the Husky mats. They'l stayed in place well in my 2016 Subaru Outback and have even protected more of the floor than the WeatherTechs would have. I would definitely by this brand again and recommend them to friends and family!

by:

Floor liners were form fitted but not that thick. I would look at another brand if your wanting heavier, thicker mats. They are adequate but for the price should be thicker in my opinion.

by:

I received product in mail. watched a youtube video. changed my wiper blades. when asked why i ordered them online??? saved me $15 on the pair and I didn't have to go look for them. came right to my door. I am a woman whom has not changed wiper blades before. I have changed batteries, tires, oil, even headers on a van but this was a new task. there were directions on the package. between them and youtube, I did it without a man!!!!~so thank you Etrailer.com!

by:

They are just a good set of windshield wipers, but it was a pleasant surprise to find that the company where I buy my trailer stuff has such a range of quality products at a fair price. To be honest, I have never found a better source for products on the internet, because every aspect of customer service is so extraordinary.

by:

The mats are great. They fit my Wrangler perfectly, as I expected since I have used Husky Liners for many years. And, the wheel lock is exactly what I was looking for. I used one to better secure my Wrangler's spare tire and wheel.

Thank you for having such great products.

by:

Prompt delivery in excellent condition. The floor liners fit 2018 Subaru Forester exactly. The driver side liner easily locks into the Subaru safety pins. Happy with product and etrailer service.
