Today we're going to be taking a look at the square two-speed manual landing gear set. Now, this landing gear set lets you raise and lower your trailer quickly and easily. It's a complete weld-on installation, so this is going to weld directly onto your trailer. The unit's going to feature a two-gear set up, so you're going to have a low gear that's going to offer full lifting power and then you're going to have a high gear that allows you to operate the jacks at a faster pace or a faster operation. Now, this set is ideal for standard agricultural, construction and industrial trailer applications. You'll notice that it has the traditional gear box design on it that does require you to reposition the crank handle to switch between the gears.
Each jack is going to feature the drop legs with the spring return. That's going to increase overall extension for maximum adjustability. Spring return is simply you pull out this lever here, it's just a plunger pin, and the drop leg will return automatically. It's on a spring. And so you gotta watch out, stay clear of that.
Make sure you don't get anything caught in there, because these are heavy duty industrial grade. They're very strong and durable. That foot plate that's attached to the drop leg, that's really going to help spread out the applied weight, especially on softer surfaces to help prevent sinking. But again, those drop legs really help increase overall extension for maximum amount of adjustability. The plunger pins are positioned to the sides of the units. That's going to allow for much easier access.
The unit is made from a complete, just sturdy steel construction, has nice black powder-coated finishing over the whole unit. It's going to do a great job at resisting rust and corrosion. Again, weld-on installation to the trailer frame. Those foot plates are a nice round design. They're going to have a diameter of 9 7/8 of an inch.
I also want to point out that on each jack, as well as the gear box, you're going to have built in grease zerks. Those are going to allow for easy maintenance, so you can attach a grease gun to it, pump in the grease, it's going to lubricate the internal components and keep everything working as it should, which is going to help increase the overall lifespan of this landing gear set. You'll also notice that it comes with a handle. It's going to come with attachment hardware. You can swing that up when you're ready to use it. It's also going to come with your connecting rod, that's this piece right here. Nice durable design, steel construction, black powder-coated finish on there as well. And you're going to get all the necessary hardware to get everything attached where it needs to go. Now, because that connecting rod is so long, I actually couldn't fit it in for this video, but I did put it all together. I took some measurements that will hopefully be helpful to you. That connecting rod has an overall length, end to end, of 65 1/4 inches. You'll notice that the mount holes on that are elongated. Center of one mount hole going to the other end to the center of the other mount hole measures around 61 1/8 of an inch. So again, I put it together and with the rod attached to the jacks, the distance between the jacks from body to body was going to be between 69 1/4 inches to 72 inches. Now, this landing gear set is going to feature a lift capacity of 50,000 pounds, 25,000 pounds per jack. The overall height, not including the drop leg but with it in the fully retracted position is 30 inches, fully extended, again not including the drop leg is 43 inches. So this unit gives us a travel or lift of 13 inches, the height from the bottom of the foot plate to the closest point of the outer tube when fully retracted is 5 inches, fully extended is 18 inches. The drop leg is going to provide an additional 11 1/2 inches of travel. Each drop leg has four adjustment holes on it and those holes are separated on center by about four inches, so that's going to be your incremental height adjustment. Again, you got the plunger pins here on the side, a nice large handle. You can pull that out, rotate it. It's got a horizontal and vertical indention, so that way it holds that plunger pin handle in the position that you want it to be in while you're operating the unit. Now the outer tube is a square design, measures 4 3/8 of an inch by 4 3/8 of an inch. Inner tube, square design, 4 inches by 4 inches. Outer tube length from bottom to top 25 inches long. That's going to do it for today's look at the square two-speed manual landing gear set.

We were able to use our existing motor as a cross fit with this gear. The gear box was even better than Lipperts as it was not plastic.
The only issue we had with this was shipping. We ordered the part same day as our water pump because we were told it was in stock. Low and behold they changed ship date numerous times, with the excuse it was not easy to pick. Anyhow, two weeks later we finally got the part we ordered.
I have a 2000 komfort 26FS. It has original landing gear that was made by Atwood.Parts to repair are apparently no longer available. Did alot of research and this kit seemed to be a good replacement. It is a exact replacement. Took some time to get it installed as my 5th wheel has a wall and frame right next to landing gear. Original motor bolted up with replacement of original screws which were half inch to short. Four days to get delivered to Oregon. I would have given a five star review but I was missing square tubing that runs from gear box to other leg. Tubing is clearly pictured in discription photos.
The fifth star is for the fantastic etrailer Customer Service Team! They are always helpful with questions and guidance. I have a 1998 Terry 5th wheel, and this gear was practically a direct fit. The gearbox mounts either horizontally or vertically, the legs feel heavy duty and appear powder coated; they function smoothly. The feet, handle, and clips are all quality pieces. Sadly, the telescopic cross bar between the legs wasn’t coated and mine was rusty. Also, the gearbox was loose, bouncing around with the heavy metal parts in the manufacturer’s box, chipping the gearbox. All in all, I am very happy with the functionality/price. Plus, now when I get a little older, I have the option of adding the electric motor. Again, thx to Customer Service.
Landing gear fit perfect on my 2011 Rockwood fifth wheel. I was even able to use my original motor.
This landing gear worked well with my 5th wheel trailer. I had to do a little bit of grinding to get them to set correctly but nothing too bad. Shipping was very fast and I spoke with 3 different people to get info and everyone of them were really nice and helpful. Will be definitely ordering from here again!

This was my first time installing a replacement pair of jacks on a 30' Excel gooseneck trailer, it was intuitive and straight forward. Was unable to figure out how to mount up my existing Atwood electric motor to operate this gear head but will deal with that after a job I need to use this for.
Exact replacement for half, (or less), than factory cost. Fixed uneven landing gear, one broken foot.
Since I was told this was made in China, I was afraid the quality of the metal would be poor, but they are heavy and sturdy.

Very fast shipping. Packaged excellent. I put them in with no problem at all. I had to flip the grease zerks around because my lead/follow legs are reverse (motor on the opposite side). Easy to do.
First I normally don’t write reviews. Customer service deserves 10 stars great information and product knowledge. I am very pleased with quality of product. Installed just like videos of course every camper is different but all information was helpful. Quality of product is a lot better than original factory set. Plus was my motor bolted right up like customer service said.

2009 Crossroad Cruiser
Seems to be good quality, perfect replacement for the 30+ year old Attwood landing gear that wore out. Installation was fairly quick and easy, with two small issues. First, had to sand down a plastic spacer between gear box and drive bar for bolt to fit. Second, I have to replace the screws that hold motor to gear box, threads on new gear box start 1/4 in back making old screws too short.
I was impressed that the jacks have two grease zerks and came well greased.
Worked great! Actually used them to adjust solar panels.
Ordered this from etrailer instead of other sites as I knew the shipping would be faster. Sure enough I got the item in 4 days on Thursday and Installed it on Sunday. Very quick and easy. Took longer to get all my tools and set up items together than the actual work. The item was a exact fit with installation being feeding the legs through the holes in the floor down from the inside and installing the 4 clamping bolts to hold them in, the gear box on the lead leg and the cross bar and motor. Now it purrs like a kitten when activated instead of clanking and creaking and blowing fuses. Actual install time was probably 1.5 hours taking my time and injecting extra grease into the gears and lead screw. These replacement units have a grease fitting for both which is great and should allow them to last forever! Being a safety freak I used a 3 ton jack with a 4X6 placed long ways to catch the I beams under the trailer then placed 3 ton car jacks under the frame also and for extra safety backed my truck bed under the tongue for extra security while I worked. The price was crazy great, the fit was excellent and the shipping was fast as usual. less money in parts and 2 hours of work probably easily saved me a grand over taking it to a RV repair shop! Thanks etrailer. Saved me again!
Well it happened while out enjoying the AZ mints. My landing gear quit working. Returned home in time, to rebuild my landing gear. I got on line, checked etrailer.com, they had the landing gear that fits 90% of all 5th wheels. I purchased the set, arrived a day early, all the parts were complete in the box. It was a perfect fit, so easy to install. I greased all the gears, even the crank box gears, painted the cross bar.
All around great experience, new jacks fit perfect! with a great price and great quality etrailer.com will be my go to choice
