Tired of dealing with incompatible seals for your Unique #84 hubs? The Grease Seal 168233 is engineered with precision to match these hubs perfectly, boasting an inner diameter of 1.688 inches and an outer diameter of 2.332 inches. Whether you're out on the road or can only find these unique hubs, this seal gets the job done right, every single time.

Durable Double Lip Design for Secure Sealing

Keep your trailer’s bearings protected from the elements with the double lip design of the Grease Seal 168233. This design not only ensures a tight fit but also offers superior sealing capabilities, making it suitable for use in both standard and more demanding environments, like boat trailers where submersion in water is commonplace. Say goodbye to leakage worries and hello to long-lasting peace of mind.

Versatility Across Multiple Brands and Models

Whether you're cross-referencing a Dexter, National, or the lesser-known NOK AD2527E, the Grease Seal 168233 fits seamlessly into your axle components. Its ability to replace various other industry seals—such as part #AD2527E and National 473317—demonstrates its ability to fit into your existing setup without any hassle, so you can move across brands without concern.

Reliable Replacement for Hard-to-Find Seals

Finding exactly what you need in a sea of parts can be challenging, but the Grease Seal 168233 addresses that issue head-on. Providing a like-for-like replacement for distinct seal numbers, like a National 473317, this seal shines where others can’t, offering universal ease of finding the right fit for contemporarily uncommon parts.

Improved Seal Design for Sustained Performance

Older seal designs often fell short, leading to faster degradation and eventual failure. The newer design of the Grease Seal 168233 has improved upon these dated models, offering a more robust and enduring performance. Constructed to handle different climates and rigorous use, this seal ensures your bearing hubs stay in peak condition, extending their life and efficiency over time.

Video Transcript for All You Need to Know About the Grease Seal

Today we're going to take a look at the double lip grease seal for the unique axles with the number 84 spindle. This is for a quantity of one. This will replace worn or damaged grease seals to help maintain optimal performance of your bearings. This uses a double lip seal which is an upgrade from a single lip seal. The double lip seal, you can tell if you feel the rubber edge of it, you'll feel the two lips there and the other way is if you pull back that rubber portion, if you'll notice, there's a reinforcing spring behind the lip which puts pressure on the lips. That does a better job of retaining grease inside your hub and keeping water and road grime out of your bearings. A few specs on this, the inner diameter, the inside diameter is 1.688.

The outer diameter is 2.332". This is designed to fit unique axles with the number 84 spindles. This is for quantity of one seal. The last thing is, is on the product page of this part number there is a chart and that will cross reference part numbers of other brands of seals that will match this seal. That should do it for the review of the double lip grease seal for unique axles with the number 84 spindle, quantity of one..

  • Replacement Grease Seal For a Trailer Hub Using LM11949 Outer Bearing and LM67048 Inner Bearing
If you can send me the diameter of the spindle where the grease seal sits and the diameter of the hub where the seal is pressed onto I can verify if we have the correct seal. Currently I do see we carry 2 hubs which use the Inner Bearing # LM67048 and Outer Bearing # LM11949. First is the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,500-lb Axles # DX22XR which uses the Seal # 168233. This seal has an inner diameter of 1.688" and outer diameter of 2.332". The other hub is an Agricultural Hub...

  • How to Measure to Determine the Correct Grease Seal for a Trailer Spindle
The # 168233 Double Lip Grease Seal has an outside diameter of 2.332 inches and an inside diameter of 1.688 inches. This seal is not compatible with a AF2527E seal with a O.D 2.312, because, even though the O.D. id very close, the inner diameter of the is seal is 1.750 inches and would not be the correct fit for the spindle diameter. You will need to take an accurate measurement of the outside diameter of your existing seal, or the inside diameter of the mounting surface for the seal in...

  • Wheel Seal With 1.63 ID and 2.375 OD
Based on the measurements you gave me it sounds like Grease Seal # 168233 that you referenced is the one you need. It's a double lip grease seal that has an Inner diameter of 1.688" and an Outer diameter of 2.332". The # 010-180-00 seal is another seal with an inner diameter of 1.68" and an outer diameter of 2.33" and also is a double lip seal. I know they are not the exact measurements you gave, but that is the closest size seal that we carry. That's also why it's important to measure...

  • Grease Seal Recommendation to Replace AD2527E
To replace your NOK AD2527E seal you can use # 168233. It has an inner diameter of 1.688 inches and an outer diameter of 2.332 inches. Based on what I could find on the NOK AD2527E the inner diameter is the same and the outer diameter is 2.328 inches. So it will be a slightly tight fit but no other seal is even close.

  • Where to Measure Spindle to Find the Correct Seal
You are correct that for the Kodiak XL ProLube Kit # XLPROLUBE1980KIT the 1.72" is the diameter of where the oil seal rides and would not work for a 1.68" diameter. Oil is often used on higher capacity axles and we do not offer an oil seal that measures 1.68". We do have grease seals with an inner diameter of 1.68", part # 168233; if yours is a grease hub and you are using oil that may be why it is leaking but if the hubs are also full of water that can also cause leaking. Hello Mike, All of our bearing kits are made in China, including the Hub Bearing Kit for Lippert, Dexter, and AL-KO 3,500 lb axles with the #84 spindle # BK2-100. The seal part number AD2527EO is a common double-lip grease seal used frequently with trailer axles rated for 3,500–4,200 lbs. It cross-references with seals from other brands, such as National (473317/47140) and Chicago Rawhide (16657/1665). The seal dimensions are 1.688" inside diameter (I.D.) and 2.332" outside diameter (O.D.),...

We're not sure what the O stands for, in anything, but to make sure this bearing seal works for you you can take a few quick measurements. You will need to measure the outside diameter of your existing seal, or the inside diameter of the mounting surface for the seal in the hub. You will also need an accurate measurement of the spindle at the seal surface. I have posted a photo to show the dimensions you will need to measure. From what I could find out about your NOK AD2527E seal, it will have the exact same inner diameter as the Redline # 168233. It does look like the outer diameter is a little larger on the # 168233, but not by much. So it will be a bit of a tight fit, but will get everything sealed up properly.

  • Replacement Hub, Bearings, Races, and Seals for Trailer Hub with H-1377 Bearing
First, it does sound like, based on the measurement and information you have provided, that race # L68110, is correct since its outer diameter is 2.327 inches. This race is associated with bearing # L68149 which has an inner diameter of 1.378 inches and fits a number 84 spindle. On these spindles the diameter where the seal goes is 1.73 inches such as # TRU84FR. The seal should be a tight fit. Grease seals are best matched by part number but when this is not possible measuring inner and outer diameters to the nearest thousandth of an inch (1.234-inches for example) is necessary to ensure a proper seal at the spindle and hub bore. A digital caliper is the best tool for measurement at this small scale. The thickness of the Redline Grease Seal # 168233 seal is 0.38. However, thickness is not always a dimension associated with picking out a suitable replacement seal. • Does Grease Seal Thickness Matter More than Inner and Outer Diameter
The thickness of the grease seal like the # 168233 won't matter. You're really just worried about the inner and outer diameter of the seal, so as long as your seal cross references to the National Seal 473317 this will be the correct replacement.
