Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the K-Source replacement side mirror. This is going to be a direct replacement for your vehicle. If something happened, maybe you got clipped somewhere on a narrow street, or just maybe got in a little fender bender or whatever the case might be, and you just need that new replacement mirror, this is going to be the part for you.This is a particular fit for several different Chevy and GM vehicles between 2000 and 2014. I'll run through the list with you guys.

That's going to be the 2007 through 2014 GMC Sierra, the 2500 and the 3500. Also for the GMC Yukon and the Yukon XL, same year range, 2007 to '14. For the Chevy side, that's going to fit the Chevy Silverado 2500 and 3500 and also the Chevrolet Suburban and the Tahoe. Same year ranges again, 2007 to 2014. And then it also fits the 2007 through 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche.So it should match up with your GM vehicle.

It has that same factory look to it, that texturized black finish kind of makes it look like a matte finish there. It's made out of a durable plastic housing. Since this is going to be the passenger side, the glass is a convex design that gives us a greater field of view. So it helps to eliminate those blind spots. You also notice in the corner there we'll have our turn signal.

We can also use our remote capability inside the vehicle to adjust that mirror, so we get it dialed in where we need it to be. And it also does still have the heated function.To get all those wires to work, you'll just have to plug this piece into your factory wiring. So there's no cutting or splicing required at all with this. You just plug it right into that factory harness, and you're good to go. Also comes with new nuts to get this installed.

So we'll have new hardware. Just take your old mirror off, unplug the wiring, pop this new guy on there, and plug in the wiring as well.Since this has a longer cord, it looks like it's going to have to get routed a little bit through your dash. So you might have to push the wires in and then come underneath the dash there right underneath your glove box to make the connection for your mirror, but shouldn't be anything too complicated. Just a matter of finding that wire bundle to unplug and plug into.Again, it does have those all those power functions. But if you didn't already have those features, like the LED turn signal or the heated glass, this isn't going to upgrade you. It's not going to give you anything that your vehicle didn't already have. So keep that in mind. It's just going to allow you to still use those functions.The things that it doesn't support though will be, it does not have a puddle lamp. And then it also doesn't support the memory auto dimming or the power folding functions. It does still have the breakaway design, so if you happen to be on a narrow street and somebody clips you, or if you just want to fold in your mirror, you can still do that. You can see there, folds in pretty easily. So we don't have to worry about our new mirror getting damaged again.That's pretty much all there is to it for our K-Source replacement side mirror.
