I've got a short bed so the ball swung to one end helps just that little extra. Fit great, easy installation. Customer service made the difference for me though. These products are all going to work, no matter who you get them from. Customer service helped me pick the least expensive shipping to get it to my house on time (and it made it just on time). 83680

I was worried at first that the hitch wouldnt come out easily, but it can be switched out very very quickly. After a year Im still quite happy and would recommend this to anyone interested. Thanks again!

The specs were not quite right to fit the rails I have in place for my Trail Boss 5th wheel hitch. So I had to make some adjustments. The design itself is superior. It is just that fit to my system that is an issue. 59064

We have continued to use the hitch without a problem. I am able to use either the gooseneck hitch, which I leave in place all the time, or mount the 5th-wheel hitch over it to use with my camper. It is a most reasonable system.

I am very happy with this product. The price was good, it arrived a day early and it fit perfectly on my existing 5th wheel rails. It took about 2 minutes to set in place, install the locking pins and I was ready to go. I am a repeat customer and highly recommend etrailer. 82750

I am still very happy with this product. Still working properly!! Expect to use it for a long time.

I wish I had pictures but I know that there is one that is already posted on here that speaks a 1000 words when I came looking for this hitch. It fit beautifully in the rails I had installed for a 5th-wheel hitch and was almost as easy to install as described. My rails were installed for the 5th wheel that has a bit more wiggle room for fitting. This hitch doesn't, so we had to lossen up one rail so that we could get it to slip in as it should and tightened it all back down. Used it to pull a fully loaded 4 horse trailer a couple of weekend ago and it worked beautifully. I would recommend to a friend, I would buy it again if I needed it and I think it was a great value for the price... :) 202472

I received the package very quickly, it took me a little persuading with a 4lb to get it lined up but my rails have been installed for a very long time, other than a little tapping it fit great. The only reason the rating is not the top is the paint. it was flaking off right out of the box and has a slight amount of rust, it will not hurt the performance and I am certain I will scratch it up quite a bit more. It is very sturdy and I am sure I will get years of use out of it. In the future if I need anything else for a trailer, this will be my first source. 152191

The product was exactly as described and shipped. Fits my Reese rails like it was a package deal. I have installed the Gooseneck plate but I have not had the chance to use it due to the ice storm currently in progress. I can't wait for the weather to clear and the unit to be put into use. Great company...great price...great doing business with eTrailer!! 67201

My Gooseneck plate works perfect and fits my existing rails like a glove. I now carry both my Gooseneck and Reese 5th wheel mounts and swap them out in minutes.

Thanks for coming back to follow up with us. We are glad to know the plate is still working hard.

I have rails and a fifth wheel hitch that I use regularly. I wanted to be able to tow a gooseneck trailer on occasion. This appears to be an excellent solution. It was easy to find online, ordering was easy, it came quickly, and fits nicely. I had read that a couple people had to file a bit to get it to fit and I thought I might have to do that as my rails were about 21 7/8 inches apart. There was enough tolerance that it fit in right out of the box. I'm very happy with the product and the service. 149349

The hitch looks well made and solid. For some reason it would only fit one way in my rails. If the ball was turned closer to the tailgate, the rear hole on the passenger side of the bed wouldn't line up. The pin would go through the front hole on the rail and into the tab on the hitch, but was half a hole off on the back side of the rail. When I turned the ball closer to the front of the bed all four holes would line up. Doesn't make sense but I could not get the hole to line up for anything. 170765

This product is a quality piece of equipment that was delivered on time at a reasonable price. I would not hesitate to purchase more products from in the future. This plate dropped right in place on the previously installed rails (this truck also tows a fifth wheel camper) in a matter of 2 minutes. It appears to be of exceptional fit and construction. We will be towing with it tomorrow and the true test will unfold. I have no hesitations at this point. 56011

The service of etrailer was excellent I got the hitch a day earlier than they predicted. The hitch did not fit directly into my bars mounted in my truck. I have a fifth wheel and this hitch was meant to go straight into the Reese bars I had in my truck bed. I had to grind 1/8th of my slots in the bars to make the hitch fit. No big deal (unless you don't have a handy angle grinder) and shouldn't affect the weight bearing. 97294

Thank you for the follow up to my purchase. This was the second time I have made a purchase from your business and just like the first time, I was extremely happy with your product and the way your business conducts its self. The goose neck plate fit directly into my Reese rails without any problem. Installation took all of 2 minutes. I would recommend your business and/or products to anyone. 116508

It went right in like it belonged there. My husband & I installed the hitch in 10 tools except for a hammer to "convince" it into place. I installed this in a 2001 F-250. Planning a test run later today...I will update if I discover any major flaws. But I do not expect any trouble. Great service and my compliments to "George J"!!!! 226200

Had to do a lot of grinding on this to make it fit my Reese rails. I have a Reese 5th wheel hitch that fits the rails ok. When I first looked at my pickup it had a Reese gooseneck hitch in it. The person I bought the pickup from kept it so I know that the rails were ok. The jig they use to build these must be off some. 156039

The product was exactly what I ordered. It takes a little bit more effort than the video to get all the pins in as there is no room for adjustments. But I figured out if I install the pins in cross cross pattern instead of doing one whole side that I could get all the pins in. Once all the pins are in there is no movement. 184970

I had to monkey with it at first to get it set in but that was completely because of the way my rails were installed and had nothing to do with the product. so far it is meeting all my expectations. The customer service here has been top notch. they will have my business from here out as long as that remains the same 65507

Just what I needed to pull my gooseneck trailer. I purchesed a draw-tite fifth wheel hitch from e-trailer a few years ago, and it made it an easy choice. It will fit right into the rails with 4 pins; and as always with e-trailer the service was excellent. Highly reccomend the product, and e-trailer. 7912

I had to file the holes a bit for the pins to line up but looks like it will work fine. 24273

We have a 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 longbed pickup truck. Would this offset ball hitch work on our truck or should we get a center mount ball hitch? The rails are already in the truck and are set center of the axle.

comment by: Becky C - 02/09/2013

The ball being a little ahead of the axle would be fine as well. This could be dependent on the shape of the trailer frame too. If you do want a centered ball option, check RP58079 or Curt 16085.

  • Fifth Wheel King Pin to Gooseneck Hitch Adapter for 2011 Chevy Silverado 3500
  • When you get right down to it, if you are going to primarily tow a fifth wheel trailer and you have not installed a gooseneck yet, the best practice really is to use a sliding fifth wheel hitch. Reese offers a nice option, their Elite Series, part # RP30144 that would allow you to install a fifth wheel hitch using rails, part # RP30868 that mount under the truck bed. Four small flush-mounted pucks remain in the bed once the hitch is removed, allowing full bed access. Even a standard...

  • Will Draw-Tite Gooseneck Plate, # 49080, Fit On Reese Rails, # RP30035, And What Is Rating On Rails
  • The Draw-Tite Gooseneck Plate, # 49080, will fit on the Reese Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit, # RP30035. The gooseneck plate is rated for 25,000 lbs. The universal rails will be able to handle the 25,000 lbs. weight rating because the rails are designed to exceed the towing weight capacity of the vehicle it will fit. The gooseneck plate and the universal rails will both exceed the towing capacity of your 1997 Chevy Cheyenne truck. So the weight rating limit will be determined...

  • What are the Two Additional Carriage Bolts Used For with the Pro Series Gooseneck Plate
  • The carriage bolts, washers and spacer blocks that are included with the Pro Series 25K Gooseneck Plate, # 49080, only need to be used if you have a 4-bolt base rails installed on your truck. You can tell if you have a 4-bolt kit if you only have two carriage bolts holding each base rail to the frame brackets . I have attached a photo showing the difference between 4-bolt rails and 10-bolt rails. The two additional bolts will need to be installed in the center holes on the base rails...

  • Does the Wallace Forge Gooseneck to Fifth Wheel Trailer Adapter # 2085205 Have Holes for a Pin
  • The Wallace Forge Gooseneck to Fifth Wheel Trailer Adapter, part # 2085205, does not use any holes. It is designed to be used with the set screws that are on the gooseneck trailer. The adapter does not need any holes when using set screws. The set screws are made to tighten against the tube to hold it in place. When a gooseneck to fifth wheel adapter has holes in it it will use a load bearing pin that will slide through the hole on the gooseneck trailer and the adapter. It will still...

  • Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Plate to Fit in Place of RBW Lil Rocker 5th Wheel Hitch on a 2003 Silverado
  • I do know that the RBW Lil' Rocker 5th wheel hitch will fit in the standard above the bed rails that we carry. What I am not sure of is if the gooseneck plates we have that fit the above the bed rails will fit the RBW rails (if they are RBW rails). You will need to take some measurements of the rails to determine fit. I have included a picture showing the rail measurements our gooseneck plates will fit in. The plates will use the inner most set of mounting tabs on the rails, about 10...

If this is the case then, yes, the Pro Series 25K Gooseneck Plate, # 49080, will fit, When installing the gooseneck plate, you may need to have your fifth-wheel hitch and the gooseneck plate handy. You may need to loosen the rails and then install both hitches, finding a position that will easily accept both parts, and then tighten the rails back down. If the Quality...

  • Is the Ball on Draw-Tite 25K Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Offset
  • The ball on the Draw-Tite 25K Gooseneck Trailer Hitch for Fifth Wheel Rails, part # 6002, is centered front to back and side to side. Whether or not the ball sits centered over the axle will depend on the rails in your truck bed. It will fit Valley rails. In order to find out whether or not it will fit Husky rails, you will need to measure. The Tab measurements for the hitch are at the bottom of the product page. The pins used to attach this hitch to the fifth wheel rails are the same...

  • What 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kit Fits a 2005 Ford F-250 King Ranch 4 Door Diesel
  • As long as your 2005 Ford F-250 has at least a 6-1/2 foot short bed there are options. But if you have a Super Crew with a bed less than 6 feet long, there can be some clearance issues. Given the shape of a most gooseneck trailers, the clearance problem may not be as bad between the cab of the truck and the front of the trailer as it would be with a 5th wheel. You would probably need to remove the tail gate when you tow the gooseneck on a bed shorter than 6 feet. The Reese Quick-Install...

  • Fifth Wheel and Gooseneck Trailer Hitch Recommendations for a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500
  • There are a couple of issues that you need to be aware of. First, you need to consult the owners manual for the gross combined vehicle weight rating for the truck. From what I could find, the towing capacity of the truck does not come very close to 30,000 pounds. Next, I do have a solution for installing a 5th wheel hitch and gooseneck in your truck. First, for a 5th wheel trailer hitch and install kit, I recommend the Reese 16K round tube slider, # RP30075 which will offer you the most...

  • Towing Fifth Wheels and Gooseneck Trailers with Ford F250 with 6 Foot 8 Inch Bed
  • Good truck choice! A 6-3/4 foot bed should work just fine for a gooseneck, but for a fifth wheel, you won't have enough clearance between the trailer loft and the rear of the cab. During turns, you could possibly have the trailer corner collide with the rear of the cab. Which would be bad. Since you don't have the truck yet, I'd go with an 8 foot bed so you can avoid clearance issues all together. There are two ways you can gain enough clearance. First, you can use a sliding fifth wheel...
