If your Volkswagen Jetta's trunk lid keeps closing while you're unloading cargo, it's time to change your strut. Replace it with this custom fit gas strut and make your lid operate like new again. Quick, tool-free installation.

Specs:
Note: Always replace your struts in pairs, where applicable. Most trunk lids have a strut on each side. Failure to replace both struts can result in a warped or damaged hinge.
Gas Strut with Exceptional Stability
Most gas struts consist of a tube filled with pressurized nitrogen gas, a piston, and rod. The Atlas Lift strut, however, has a dynamic damping groove inside the tube that regulates gas movement across the piston. This ensures your trunk lid stays open when you want it open and shuts slowly without bouncing or slamming. Lastly, in contrast to struts that only have gas in the chamber, a few drops of oil have been mixed in to help seal the piston and lubricate the rod. This allows your trunk lid to move more smoothly as the rod travels in and out of the tube.

Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this trunk lift support arm. This is a gas strut that's gonna replace one trunk lift support arm and this will fit with your 2005 through 2010 Volkswagen Jetta. Now, just to be on the safe side there are several different styles or packages of the Volkswagen Jetta for different year ranges. So I would encourage you to come to etrailer.com, use our vehicle fit guide, select your year, make and model and we'll help you narrow it down to make sure that this is gonna fit for you and your Jetta.
But this is gonna do a great job helping to hold your trunk open and then gently compress to allow the trunk to close. So you don't have to worry about getting your fingers smashed in there or getting any of your gear caught and that sort of thing. And we do have these ball sockets that are going to snap right in place onto the existing OEM ball studs on your Jetta. So it's gonna give you a nice easy installation and a nice solid connection there. When we measure from the center of one ball socket to the center of the other, we're looking at right at 11 and 11/16 of an inch long, this will compress down to eight and 3/4 of an inch.
And this features dampening technology that is gonna provide a nice, smooth operation to help eliminate bouncing and jarring that you sometimes get with other similar options. So it's going to ensure nice frictionless movement in all weather conditions. So you're not gonna have to worry about it binding up if it's cold outside or something like that. This does have the nitride coated steel shaft that is going to be corrosion resistant. So it is going to give you a nice long lasting performance and it does come with a limited lifetime warranty.
So if you we're to have any problems with it, you're more than welcome to reach out to us here at etrailer.com. But that's gonna complete our look for today. Hope this has been helpful in determining if this is gonna work for you or not. If you are needing to replace that rear trunk support arm I think this is gonna be exactly what you need. That completes our look for today and again I'm Michael with etrailer.com, thanks for watching..
