  • Recommended Door Holder for Fender Mounting
The Plastic Stem and Rubber Socket Door Holder - 2" Long Stem # DH39R can be installed onto your fender if desired to allow your door to be secured open. You can alternatively use a Hook and Keeper for Enclosed Trailer Door # 383400 in another location like mounted to the fender to give you a similar option. There is not an option we carry that is long enough to allow connection to the main trailer wall when the fender is making contact with the door.

  • Solution to Hold Swinging Trailer Doors Open
What we have is a Hook and Keepr # PLR9-SS in stainless steel, # PLR9-A in aluminum, and # 383400 zinc plated. These are used to hold trailer doors open similarly to how you are using a hook and chain. One piece is conneted to the side of the trailer and the other is connected to the door. The hook slides inside of the keeper when open to hold the door in place.

  • Holding Trailer Doors Open Using Plungers or Hook and Keeper Holders
Regarding the man door and the awning, is there any way that you can attach the plunger style holder, # DH605, to the support are for the awning that is causing the interference? Otherwise, you could use something like the hook and keeper, # 383400. If they were placed near the door hinges you could probably configure it to hold the door open where it will not interfere or shut. The same thing for the rear barn doors. The stress on the door keepers would be greater the closer they are...

  • Replacement Latch Part for 1994 Fleetwood Bounder Motorhome
RV makers do not maintain any specs on smaller items like door hardware they install on their motorhomes so we have no way to look that up for you. Since I don't know which particular type of latch you need to find a replacement part you can use the linked pages that display the various door parts we offer, such as Hook and Keeper # 383400. If you like you can email me your photos of the door/compartment for which you need the latch part and I will be glad to help you find the right item.

  • Installing Trailer Door Hook and Keeper # 383400
You will usually see the hook portion mounted on the trailer door, with the keeper connected to the side of the trailer, but there is no reason why you could not install it the other way, if you wish. Just to be certain, I checked with the manufacturer who told me the same thing.

  • Can a Horse Trailer Back Door be Left Open or Will it Damage the Hinges
It really depends on how heavy the door is, how far it sticks out from the hinges, and how big the hinges are. You could technically say the same thing about any door that mounts on hinges. So the doors in your house you would not necessarily be closed all the time. But at the same time the distance between the ground and the bottom of the trailer door is greater than that on a door in your house. In other words, a sagging door in a house would only go so far before being held up by the...

  • Trailer Door Hook and Keeper are Not Lined Up Properly on a Outback Enclosed Trailer
So when you open the door and swing the hook part out to meet the keeper the door hits the fender before the 2 can reach each other? If that is the case then I would agree that somewhere along the line a mistake was made. The only hook and keeper we have is # 383400 and the hook is just 4 inches long. The best solution is to move the hook and/or keeper. It sounds like the screws used are Torx style or something similar. A hardware store should have the appropriate tool to remove and reinstall...

  • Recommended Strap Hinges For 4 x 8 Foot Doors for Enclosed Trailer
What you're planning sounds like it would work, but you'll need to be sure you have some cross members in the door where each hinge mounts. Since the doors are large and are likely pretty heavy, I'd use the biggest hinges you can. If you were wanting the hinge to swing all the way up against the side of the trailer, I'd recommend using # 2212. A hook and keeper, part # 383400 would hold the door open for you as you load/unload. If you only need the door to swing 180 degrees, use # 2512....

  • Hook and Keeper for Haulmark Trailer with Longer Hook

  • Door Keepers for Enclosed Trailer Doors
We only have the door keepers available in 4 inch. We have the stainless steel # PLR9-SS, Aluminum # PLR9-A, and Zinc # 383400. We also have some plunger and socket and stem and socket options, but these have less space. I've linked the page to further assist.

  • What Position Should the Hook and Keeper for Enclosed Trailer Doors Be Mounted In
Correct, the mounting holes on the Hook and Keeper for Enclosed Trailer Doors part # 383400 are 2-5/16" apart top to bottom (vertically) and 1" apart left to right (horizontally). The actual plate measures to be 3" tall x 1-3/4" wide. Therefore, it is taller than it is wider. I have attached a few photos to clarify the above.

  • What are the Dimensions of the Enclosed Trailer Door Hook and Keeper # 383400
I went out to the warehouse and pulled Enclosed Trailer Door Hook and Keeper # 383400 to measure it. First, the mounting holes are 2-5/16 inches across on center and 1 inch top to bottom on center. The mounting plates for both pieces are 3 inches by 1-3/4 inches. From the center of the hook piece to the end of the hook is 4 inches. The hook piece sticks up 1/2 inch from the mounting surface. The keeper piece sticks up 3/4 inches from the mounting surface. • Trailer Door Holder that Wont Accidently Release the Door
I do not have a way to test how much force it takes to pull the rubber stem from the socket # DH39R (no force gauge available) but having used this type of door keep before I can tell you that it usually takes a good jerk to free it up. When you want to be positive that the door is going to stay open I recommend using a hook and keeper such as # 383400. I have linked a video review for you.

  • Why Doesn't Enclosed Trailer Door Hook and Keeper # 383400 Come with Install Screws
The Enclosed Trailer Door Hook and Keeper # 383400 does not come with new screws because different applications will require different fastener styles and lengths. Without knowing the dimensions and weight of your ramp it is hard to make a specific product recommendation but we do offer all sorts of trailer hardware. • Will Enclosed Trailer Door Hook and Keeper 383400 Work on a Heavy Horse Trailer Door
Even though the door on your horse trailer is heavy the door keeper # 383400 will still hold it open. Nearly all of the door's weight will be on the hinges and the keeper is just preventing it from closing. The keeper is not really supporting any weight so it will work well for you. I have linked a video showing an example installation.
