So if you don't insert the product straight on, it's really easy to slide that adapter back, which I just did. And then you have to try to line it up again. It can be a little difficult. • Personally I would have gone with the longest breaker bar I could get in there. You wouldn't have needed strength so much as leverage. But that is a moot point since the bolts have been removed. Now we have to get you the right hardware! But, the Ride-Rite kit # F2597 for your 2014 Ford F-250, does come with bolts, nuts, and washers that go through that center hole in the frame and 5th wheel brackets. So the center bolts from the 5th wheel install kit are the only ones that needed to...

  • Pairing the Replacement Wireless Remote to the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System
  • We have not yet had the opportunity to shoot a video showing how to sync the Replacement Wireless Remote # AL73002, but can help with the process. I've attached the installation instructions and a clip on pairing the remote from the installation instructions for the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System # AL72000. These instructions outline the pairing process between the manifold and the remote on page 16. You will want to set the manifold to "join" mode by grounding the yellow join...

  • Does a Cushioned 5th Wheel Hitch or Cushioned Pin Box Give Better Ride Quality
  • If it were me I would go with a non-cushioned hitch and the upgraded pin box for the trailer. The reason for this is the amount of cushioned and chucking prevention on the pin box is greater than what would be on a cushioned hitch and would provide a superior ride. For a 14,000 pound 5th wheel trailer I recommend the Reese hitch # RP30047. This is the old workhorse for Reese. Its been around a long time because it is a quality design and a reliable hitch. For the proper replacement...

  • Best Fifth Wheel Hitch for a 2015 Ford F350 Short Bed with Hitch Prep
  • The Reese Elite Series Pre-Assembled 5th Wheel Hitch w/ Slider # RP30144 that you referenced would be the perfect hitch for you to use on your 2015 Ford F350 crew cab short bed. Since you have a short bed you would need a slider to make tight turns, this hitch has a slider. This hitch also has 18,000 lbs of capacity which would be more than enough for your trailer. Although your trailer claims to have a nose that will allow for tight turns without a slider I would still recommend...

  • Recommended Under Bed Rail and Installation Kit for a Ford F-250 without Factory Rail Kit
  • The Reese Elite I recommend is part # RP30126, as it's a fit for Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty's. The capacity on these rails is 25,000 pounds. It will work with the B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch # BWRVK3300. Reese Elite part # RP30868 you referenced is specifically for 2011-2014 Chevy and GMC various bed lengths. I included a couple video demos and FAQ for you too.

As you stated, you would need to customize the rail kit to use for your application and this may change the capacity of your hitch.

  • Installation Instructions for Curt Custom 5th Wheel Install Kit for Ford # C16424-204
  • Thank you for your recent order for 5th wheel components. The written installation instructions for the custom Ford kit you purchased, part # C16424-204, have been sent to you in a separate email message. The front base rail (the one nearest the cab) should be positioned so that its rear-facing edge is 54-3/16-inches from the rear edge of the truck bed. Once this front rail is positioned you can use the mounting tabs on the hitch base assembly to determine the correct location for the...

  • Installing Fifth Wheel Hitch in 2014 Ford F350 Dually w/ Factory 5th Wheel/Gooseneck towing Prep Pkg
  • Since you have the pucks pre-installed, you won't need the install kit or anything else. You would simply remove the covers over the pucks in your truck bed and drop in an Elite Series fifth wheel hitch like the # RP30142 for an 18K capacity. B&W also offers the Companion, part # BWRVK3300 which has a 20K capacity that would also drop right into the pucks installed in your truck bed. An adapter like the # RP30156 would allow you to use a regular fifth wheel hitch designed for use with...

  • Is Slider 5th Wheel Hitch Needed for 2014 Ford F-250 with 6-3/4-Foot Bed
  • A sliding 5th wheel hitch is required for your 2014 Ford F-250 with 6-3/4-foot bed in order for you to have enough cab-to-trailer clearance for making tight turns. Adapters with offset do not change the pivot point so they will not give you more turning clearance. If you need a sliding 5th wheel hitch for your existing base rails you can use the 15K Pro Series # PS30094 for a cost-effective option; this slider hitch offer 10-inches of travel. Or for a more advanced hitch with 11-inches...

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan
  • Yes, the Curt Hitch part # 13364 that you referenced has been confirmed to fit your 2015 Chrysler Town and Country and Dodge Grand Caravan so I would recommend it for you. Check out the install video I attached. For trailer wiring you would want the part # C56150. I attached an install video for you to check out. For ball mounts I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag.

  • Placing Pivot Arms on B&W Companion Hitch in Furthermost Position for Short Bed Truck
  • I spoke with my contact at B&W and ideally you do want the king pin to sit centered above the rear axle or slightly forward but in order to increase the turning clearance on your 2014 Ford F-250, your installer was correct in placing a B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch like # BWRVK3400-5W in the furthermost position. According to installation instructions, the position of the pivot arm allows the kingpin to adjust from 1 inch ahead of the post to 7 inches behind the post. Please...

  • Recommended 7-Way Trailer Connector for 2014 Ford F150 STX
  • Under the rear of your truck, near the back bumper, you should find the factory trailer wiring harness. It will probably be located on the driver's side frame rail, just behind the rear tire. The harness will terminate in a round plug that would plug directly into the trailer connector I'd recommend, which is the Hopkins # HM40975. This connector provides both a 7-way and a 4-pole. The round plug you find under the vehicle will have a protective cap on the end of it to keep out road...

  • Do you have to Know the Rear Axle Weight, Not Capacity, to Figure Out How Much a Truck Can Tow
  • Knowing the weight of the tow vehicle axle is not really relevant, or at most rarely relevant, to determining how much the truck can tow. What matters is the truck manufacturers axle capacity, gross trailer weight capacity, and gross combined weight rating. In my years of working in this industry I have never heard of the axle weight on the tow vehicle being needed to determine anything. Only the capacities. With that said I also asked around here to get some other opinions on the subject...

  • Hitch Extender Needed with 600 lbs Tongue Weight and 7,000 lbs Towing for a 2012 Ford F-350
  • I have an option that will work for you, however, there are no 24 inch hitch extenders with a 600 lb tongue weight and 7,000 lb towing capacities. The capacities you need will require a special setup when extended out 24 inches. Your best option would be to remove your existing trailer hitch and install the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum Class V Trailer Hitch, # TLF1002-30. With this hitch, you can use the TorkLift SuperTruss 24 Inch Hitch Extension, # TLE1524. The SuperTruss can only be...
