Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

When product was received, some of the hardware was missing. etrailer quickly shipped the missing parts. Hitch and wiring fit perfectly. A really nice professional appearance for do-it-yourself install.

My trailer hitch and other items arrived a day before I actually needed them Speedy service knowledgeable staff had to call customer service because I accidentally ordered two of the same items this was taking care of immediately thank you play company also easy-to-use website and very helpful

by:

Harness works as promised. The only reason I even attempted the install was the video resources provided by etrailer. It was a bit difficult to route the wire to the battery as I was working in my driveway with no lift available but otherwise it was very straight forward. I’d highly recommend some trim tools to help loosen the panels as it makes the wiring much easier to pull through to the tail lights. Took a bit of time to route everything and get it tied out of the way but came out clean. As long as you have the patience and ability to fit under the car it’s a straight forward DIY install.

Easy to follow instructions. I had to tape my bolts onto the spring leader so they wouldn’t fall out. Not a big deal. Also, this hitch mounts low on the 2020 edge so you may bottom out occasionally. Installation ease is about 7 out of 10. Took about 2-1/2 hours to install the hitch and the wiring harness.

Trailer connector fit perfectly to my Ford Edge and has worked great whenever I tow my boat.

Comments
The trailer wiring adapter has been working great with no issues since installing it. Thanks

Wiring kit for my 2019 Ford Edge was not as easy as others II have installed from etrailer.com on previous vehicles. But the difficulty had to do with the design of the Edge itself. Fishing the left and right connectors up the rear panels through a very limited space was very challenging, I watched the video provided and found it very helpful. I used a straightened wire clothes hanger as my fish line. Taping the connector harness to the fish wire as shown in the video did not work for me. Instead, I bent a tight hook shape at the end of my fish wire and rigged a string loop around one of the connectors. I hooked the string loop into the fish wire and taped it securely. It was then easier to pull the harness up through the body to the taillight assembly area. Did not have a tester to see if it all worked once installed. Drove 100 miles to pick up my trailer. All worked well when I connected the trailer harness to the Edge.

The install was not as easy as I hoped. Also there was no mounting bracket for the 4 pin connector.

According to Tekonsha, the # 118806 trailer wiring harness will only fit 2020 Ford Edge models in the Titanium trim. For all other trim levels including the ST Line, you'd use # 118805. If you click the provided link, you can see a helpful install video.

Tekonsha does make a vehicle wiring harness confirmed to fit your 2020 Ford Edge SEL. You will need the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118805. The Tekonsha # 118669 you purchased is only confirmed to fit the 2015-2018 Ford Edge SEL or SE. I included a video of the # 118805 being installed on a 2020 Ford Edge SEL for you to take a look at.

  • Difference Between Tekonsha Trailer Wiring that Fits 2019 Ford Edge Titanium and Non-Titanium
Since the difference between the 2019 Ford Edge Titanium and the other models is that the Titanium comes with LED taillights Tekonsha had to make a different kit with a different converter box that accomodates the difference in lighting. This is why the # 118806 fits the Titanium and the # 118805 fits the other models. Both of these are easy to install though. I attached an install video for the kit that fits your vehicle for you to check out as well.

The tail light connectors are different on the 2020 Ford Edge Titanium from the other trims. You can see in the images I put below that the tabs off the connectors are in different places. The Tekonsha T-One # 118806 for the Titanium has black connectors with the tabs both at the corners. While the Tekonsha T-One # 118805 for other trims has tan connectors and the one tab is right next to the latching tab.

  • Hands Free Lift Gate Operation on 2019 Ford Edge SEL or Titanium with Aftermarket Hitch
I've got great news! We have had no issues of the hitches available like the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" part # 75234 causing any issues with the hands free lift gate.
