    • Molded 4-wire electrical cords - 30' long
    • Power cord - 6' long

2001 Jeep Cherokee

This is the third time I have order base plates and electrical hook ups from etrailer and love this company. We have a 1979 MCI Bus conversion and it is difficult at time finding things for towing etc for it because of age. Not with etrailer, they have it all. We have towed a 96 S-19 chevy, a 98 Jeep was next and this year we got a 2001 Jeep Cherokee which we got the electrical kit for from etrailer.com and the base plates are still on the way. Everything fits nicely and if you are unsure of how it all goes together just watch their video''s on the etrailer website which are very informational.
Thank You etrailer.com for being there when we need you. See you all down the road....

Comments
Still working very well and didnt even have to pull the bumper off to install it. very strong units. the electrical hookups worked well also and easy to hookup as well. Lights all work well. The brake cable system I had on my previous Jeep I mover to the cherokee but was a real pain to find a good pass through because of all the mechanicals in the Jeep cherokee but good it through finally.

Product is very well built and is hidden within the bumper/grille. Installation wasn't too difficult, reinstallation of front bumper requires 2 people.
Pleased with end results.

2022 Ford F-150

Would have given 5 stars, but this was the wrong diode kit for my 2022 King Ranch. The folks at etrailer provided the recommended parts list I needed, however because my truck has LED taillight. After contacting Roadmaster, they helped me determine that I needed a different kit (RO44FR).

by:

Sent this back. Splicing into factory wiring would have voided the warranty on a new vehicle.

Comments
We hear this a lot however I wanted to let you know that it would be protected by the Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act. This act states, in part, that unless the installation and the part caused a problem then the warranty cannot be voided. For the full details I recommend looking it up online. We do offer options that will avoid splicing into the wiring. One example is part # RM-152-LED-7
Roadmaster Tail Light Wiring Kit w/ 7-Way to 6-Wire Connector - LED Bulb and Socket - Red
$215.17
which is a bulb and socket kit that would be installed into the vehicles tail lights.

Installation instructions were great, no issues or questions. I ran the wire thru the frame, and used split wire loom and tape to protect wiring when outside the tube frame.

2011 Toyota Yaris

Worked great on my 2011 Toyota Yaris sedan with automatic transmission. I needed this to hook up to my RV when it’s on the Tow Dolly. Didn’t mind loosing the separate blinker when it’s being towed so this kit worked good for me!

I have rigged several cars for towing, and Roadmaster has a good wide range of products that allow me to get exactly what I need. And they always work as you expect. I have always gotten them via etrailer because they stock them and make sure they work as specified.

Fit as it should. Great instructions.

Good system, worked fine but you have to be ok at wiring and understand the process. I found another wiring kit (on Etrailer) that is all pre-wired with a wire harness with connectors. Plug and play. No cutting or wiring connectors. Overall this kit works well!

2015 Jeep Wrangler

The order was exactly what I needed for my 2015 Jeep. It was easy to install and took may be a couple of hours from start to finish. The instructional video was spot on!
Again etrailer provided excellent service. A great company.

by:

The directions and the diodes make this work. The pieces could likely be purchased for a lower price somewhere else but having all together is very worth the kit price. Running the wires through the firewall and to the back of the vehicles is the biggest part of the work but I got it done. Love that feeling of accomplishment.

by:

Worked well. ETrailer’s instructional videos were invaluable. Especially finding space behind the tail light assemblies for diodes!

by:

E Trailer did a great job installing the wiring kit. I can't see where they did anything inside the car and the lights work perfectly.

I used the waiting kit on a 2018 Chevy Silverado; my truck has two tail lights and therefore needed an extra set of diodes which were not included with the initial wiring kit. Therefore I has to order an extra diode in order for my turn and brake lights to work properly.

Comments
This kit will work if your vehicle has combined lights - which means the turn and tail lights use the same bulb - or on separate light systems - where the turn and tail lights use separate bulbs. If used on a separate light system and 4 diodes are used then the stop light will work as both the stope and turn signal. Adding two diodes part # RM-792
Roadmaster Hy-Power Diodes (Qty 2)
$27.31
will allow you to use the turn signals on separate light systems.

  • Wiring a 1994 Toyota Pickup to Tow Behind a Motorhome
We carry wiring kits for towing vehicles behind motorhomes. I would recommend RoadMaster part # RM-154. It is a complete kit that will let you wire your 1994 Toyota Pickup to be towed behind your motorhome without using the magnetic tow lights. Since your Toyota should have separate brake and turn signals, you will need one of two wiring diagrams based on whether or not your motorhome has seperate turn signals. Thumbnails of these diagrams can be seen towards the bottom of the product page...

  • Wiring a 1994 Jeep YJ for Towing Behind a Motorhome
The T-One harness you were looking at is to tow a trailer behind the Jeep. It will not work in reverse to tow the Jeep behind a motorhome. You will need RoadMaster part # RM-154. There are wiring diagrams on the page to show you how to wire it depending on the taillight configuration of your motorhome.

  • Is a Brake Light Relay Needed when flat Towing a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Behind an RV
You will most likely need a brake light relay when flat towing your 2000 Jeep Wrangler. The # RM-88400 relay is required to prevent the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn. I have linked a video showing an example installation of the relay but it is on a much newer Jeep so some things will likely be different on your 2000 Wrangler.

We have tow bar wiring kits that will work great on your 2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser but we do not have any plug and play style kits. Instead your best option would be the diode kit part # RM-154. This splices into the taillight wiring and allows your tow vehicle to operate the FJ's taillights.

  • Running Light Function of 2004 Chevy Trailblazer When Flat Towed Using Roadmaster # RM-154
The Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154 is designed to allow your 2002 Dutch Star Motorhome to power all the lighting of your 2004 Chevy Trailblazer when being flat towed. You should not have the running lights of your Trailblazer turned on independently of the running lights of your motorhome when connected. That could cause the diode to fail but the kit is rated for a max voltage of 24V and max amperage of 85 amps, so it may function even under those conditions.

Is this occurring when the vehicle's being flat towed, or when it's being driven, or both? Try replacing the existing flasher with a heavy duty model. If it's happening only when the vehicle's being driven, there's several different reasons why this is happening. The 4-way mounting bracket # 18144 will be a little bit big for the 4-way of the RM-154, but I can assure it will secure the 4-way once you press the cap onto the 4-way. Either the cap will keep it in place or the fact that it is plugged into your tow vehicle will keep the 4-way in the bracket. If the hole underneath the light assembly is not large enough to fit the wires of the # RM-154 through you can either look for a different access point or enlarge that hole with a drill or dremel.
