Whether you're hauling heavy loads in the cargo area or by pulling a trailer, you will often see the rear sag while the front end rises. In these cases, the rear axle is handling not only the weight of the cargo, but more of the truck's weight, as well. Because less weight is on the front axle, the front tires are making less contact with the road. Overall handling - traction, steering, and braking - is negatively affected. But the resistance from Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System works with your factory suspension to keep your vehicle level and improve your driving experience.
The Timbren system has a custom-fit bracket that will be bolted onto each frame rail above the rear axle. Hollow rubber springs are bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down to where the bottom of the spring sits, one inch above the axle. The inch of clearance allows the existing factory suspension to operate normally under light loads and standard terrain, ensuring the smooth, comfortable ride that you are used to.
Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape increases resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping the truck level.
Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's or passenger's side of your vehicle. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when you are hauling off-center loads.
Because the vehicle handles better with the springs, less turbulence will be passed along to the trailer, and this helps to keep the trailer in line. Your driving comfort is further enhanced if the trailer does begin to sway (from a gust of wind or a passing semi), because the movement from the trailer is not transferred to the truck. This also works to make the sway subside more quickly.
Another great feature of the rubber construction is that the springs absorb most of the road shock, creating a smoother, more stable ride overall. Wear and tear on the factory suspension is also lessened because the rubber springs work to prevent bottoming out on rough roads.
Compared to the Competition
Timbren's suspension enhancement systems are much easier to install than air springs - there are no air hoses to run, no compressors or gauges to hook up, and no manual adjustments to make. The rubber construction makes Timbren's springs more elastic than similar products constructed of microcellular urethane. And more elasticity allows for a more comfortable ride because the rubber has more travel.

Today we're going to take a look at the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System. Now this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2000 to 2011 Work Horse P Series and W series chassis models. Now in any custom fit part, I always like to recommend for you to go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle and it'll show you if this part will work for your application. Now this will improve the suspension, handling and safety of your vehicle. Provides additional support as needed so you always have a nice, smooth comfortable ride. It will allow the least spring ample movement, while cushioning light loads, so it does not affect the empty ride of your vehicle. Now these do become more rigid as more weight is added, helps increase stability, providing great performance while hauling heavy loads.
Helps reduce vehicle sag. Now these do work independently side to side, helps compensate for any off-center loads. They do reduce body roll when you're swerving or turning corners, and will also act as shock absorbers taking the brunt of any bumps in rough roads. This will help extend the life of your vehicle's suspension. Includes everything shown here, the two AEON hollow rubber springs, the vehicle specific brackets, the hardware for nice, simple installation.
Comes with a nice set of detailed instructions on how to install everything. Now these do replace the actual bump stops on your frame, so there's no drilling required. Specs on this, the weight capacity is 8,600 pounds. You do want to make sure not to exceed your vehicles weight bearing capacity. And the last note is these are designed to work with a suspension system that is in good working order. But that should do it for the review on the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System.

8,600-lb Capacity. These hollow rubber springs sit above the rear axle to help stabilize and level your vehicle. They also provide a more comfortable ride by absorbing road shock and improving roll stability. Easy to install and use.Timbren is a nice product but overpriced for what you get. They did give my motorhome a bit more sway support but made the ride more sharp, even on small cracks/bumps in the road. A sway bar would have been a much better way to go.
These “overloads” are such a great answer to suspension needs! They are made with high grade materials and the installation was a snap! I would buy them again many times over! Don’t mess with air bags, compressors, air lines and all that “stuff.” These are the deal!! Pictures of before and after. Simple way to add significant suspension payload quickly with little fuss.
I've had them installed for a year, still working great! Easy installation with no drilling needed. Simply bolt right in. Great product.
Its ok but not that differences, highly recommended for air bags instead these
Review from a similar Timbren Aeon Spring System in Vehicle Suspension
I was back and forth between Timbren SES and airbags. Everyone in forums were very biased toward air bags and very opinionated on the Timbren SES. Yet I could find one instance in which someone tried the Timbrens, were dissatisfied and then switched to air bags. I called etrailer, Jamie recommended this product to me for my application. Installation on a 20-year-old truck had me nervous, I live in the Midwest and have a lot of salt. Installation was a breeze, and I have a B&W 5th Wheel Hitch (turnover gooseneck ball). This made the install a bit more challenging simply because I had a large bolt through the frame directly above my bump stop nut. If you do this install with the B&W Hitch, get a set of gear wrenches, or borrow a buddies 15mm and 9/16 wrenches. You need the 15mm to remove the factory nut and the 9/16 to install the Timbrens. I sprayed wd40 two nights in a row prior to installation to make sure I had good penetration of oil - I didn't break a bolt or a knuckle. I recommend installing the Timbren spring to the mounting plate, then install the mounting plate with Timbren to the truck. I didn’t need to remove my wheels or my spare, I jacked up the back under the hitch, used jack stands and let the weight of the axle separate the rear end from the truck giving ample room for the installation. After installation, I checked the clearance of the TImbren from the axle and had 1 inch of clearance. I installed my 1200-pound pickup camper and the springs just started touching the axle. I have a 21-foot fiberglass boat and seen about a 1/4-inch drop after I connected it to my truck. These things work and best part is – no maintenance and no danger of shifting weight if an airbag lost pressure or was punctured/damaged. I hunt with this vehicle and drive through thick brush and timber, I feel airbags wouldn’t hold up with the abuse I put my truck through. The Timbren SES system took the squat out of my truck and made the drop from the connection of my heavy boat hardly noticeable. Thank you etrailer, great experience as usual!

The hardest part was the de-installation of the factory bump stop. Installation of the Timbren’s was simple and easy.
My truck is 2008 F250 V10 Crew Cab 4x4 with factory overload springs. I have a B&W fifth wheel & gooseneck hitch installed. I did notice the difference in towing my 34’ fifth wheel trailer. The ride and handling was improved. I would recommend them.

About a 1/2 inch difference in gap at the bump stop perch but still within parameters. Truck sits perfect with trailer attached. Haven’t towed yet. After towing if they perform like they should will upgrade to a 5 star. Easy to install, definitely needed 2x4 and jack. 2011 Silverado ext cab with 30 ft Genisis 5th wheel.

They may be a great product but they did not work on my 22 f350. Even with the spacers provided they would not make contact with the trucks axle even with a heavy slide in camper. If I am going to keep them I’ll have to make welding modifications to extend the bracket so it will work on my truck model pictures with and without the camper loaded.
I would like to update my review to say that Timbren came through and made my application work by sending me the right parts so my truck doesn’t squat and it handles my truck camper much better. Timbren has great customer service

I installed Timbren on front and rear of Georgetown motorhome. The install was easy and the improvement in overall handling was noticeable. No more bottoming out on bad roads, and a reduction in sway or lean in and out of turns. Worth the money, especially in conjunction with my other bolt on upgrades. Safety steer, Rear sway bar, and Rear trac bar

Haven’t had it on long, but so far so good. 1999 F350 dually. Bolted up nicely. Total job took 10 minutes. Have hauled two gooseneck loads of hay and truck drives SO much better. Nice and level. Money well spent so far.

The Timbren rear suspension enhancement system helped with the truck swaying side to side when the slide in camper is on the truck.
The photos show right and left rear with Timbren’s installed (2 photos), with slide in camper on the truck (2 photos) and when the camper was removed (2photos).

They definitely support and did lift my 2014 toyota tundra up about 1.5 inches.
This application with my weight has trunk riding on the cushions all the time.
That has teavel and bounce issues that do make some driving situations interesting.
I may go ahead and replace with airbags but for now support things well!

One of the timbrens appeared to be installed once and removed. Box said it was 2018 on it.

Great product, it works perfect on my truck. Sometimes I tow up to 30k lbs including my trailer and my truck stays level. No more high beam flashing in my eyes from drivers going in the opposite direction on the road.

I have used Timberns on 2 other vehicles, a Toyota 4Runner and an S10 Blazer with out complaint.
I transport RVs as a contractor for an RV transport company. My truck is 2021 Ram 3500 crew cab, 6.7 diesel.
Because the weight of the units is different with each unit I haul I wanted an easy, no maintenance solution to maintain as level a ride as possible. I haul both bumper pull and 5th wheel units. In addition to the weight of the unit I'm hauling I can carry 110 gallons of fuel with both the factory fuel tank and my auxiliary tank. Additionally, there is the weight of my Curt 25K 5th wheel hitch, Curt 14K equalizer hitch and bars, and approximately 300 pounds in tools.
I don't have to worry about airbags not inflating. The suspension settles about an inch before making contact with the Timberns. Squat while loaded is negligible. The ride empty is the same as it was before installation. The ride loaded is smooth and controlled even when hitting large bumps at highway speeds.
Installation was simple and straightforward. It took me about a half hour.

Went on fairly easy, jacked the rear of truck up pulled out old bump stops, soapy water on new ones positioned them and with the help of two short pieces of 2×4s under each side lowered the truck, they slid right in place. Very easy. Won't be hooking up to 5th wheel for a couple of months, looking forward on how they work on truck squat. Might follow up then and give another star.

I used this on my Isuzu tow truck. The blocks in and of themselves are fine, they support the weight. Here's the problem: They are pre-loaded, meaning that they always touch between the frame and the rear axle. As you load the vehicle this puts more pressure on the frame in this 5" area where the blocks are. The springs have not yet taken as much weight as they normally would. Now, all this upward pinpoint pressure bends the frame. This is what happened to me on my rollback tow truck. After many hours and now double plating the frame all is well again, but a tremendous amount of work. Yes, the blocks are fine, but the result of installing this product resulted in a bent frame. The vehicle was not overloaded and was within the GVWR.

Makes my truck feel better while towing a 5th wheel camper, especially over expansion joints of the expressway.

Delivery was extremely slow and got the items late and the box came ripped up and all hardware was lost in shipping! I waited 4 days for the item and called them and they sent out all new hardware and had to wait another 5 days for the hardware. They really messed up my coming trip with my motorhome, I would not recommend this company to anyone, honestly the lousiest service you can get from a company! I do belong to several RV groups, I’ll let them know about the bad handling of my problem.

I think I will be very happy with the ride when I tow our fifth wheel, it definitely needed the extra support especially on rough roads.I chose not to use the spacers because I like the softer ride when the truck is unloaded.

Installation was simple, took all the squat out of my 2022 F350 when pulling a goose neck 3 horse living quarters horse trailer
