Whether you're hauling heavy loads in the cargo area or by pulling a trailer, you will often see the rear sag while the front end rises. In these cases, the rear axle is handling not only the weight of the cargo, but more of the truck's weight, as well. Because less weight is on the front axle, the front tires are making less contact with the road. Overall handling - traction, steering, and braking - is negatively affected. But the resistance from Timbren's Suspension Enhancement System works with your factory suspension to keep your vehicle level and improve your driving experience.
The Timbren system has a custom-fit bracket that will be bolted onto each frame rail above the rear axle. Hollow rubber springs are bolted to the bottom of the bracket and hang down to where the bottom of the spring sits, one inch above the axle. The inch of clearance allows the existing factory suspension to operate normally under light loads and standard terrain, ensuring the smooth, comfortable ride that you are used to.
Timbren Suspension Enhancement Systems are designed to work progressively. When the hollow rubber springs are compressed, the convoluted design causes them to quickly collapse along the folds. Once the folds are compacted, the stacked barrel shape increases resistance, stiffening the suspension and keeping the truck level.
Each hollow rubber spring works independently to support the driver's or passenger's side of your vehicle. This is helpful when you swerve or make sharp turns. Each spring is activated when it is needed, so body roll is greatly reduced. The independent action also works well when you are hauling off-center loads.
Because the vehicle handles better with the springs, less turbulence will be passed along to the trailer, and this helps to keep the trailer in line. Your driving comfort is further enhanced if the trailer does begin to sway (from a gust of wind or a passing semi), because the movement from the trailer is not transferred to the truck. This also works to make the sway subside more quickly.
Another great feature of the rubber construction is that the springs absorb most of the road shock, creating a smoother, more stable ride overall. Wear and tear on the factory suspension is also lessened because the rubber springs work to prevent bottoming out on rough roads.
Compared to the Competition
Timbren's suspension enhancement systems are much easier to install than air springs - there are no air hoses to run, no compressors or gauges to hook up, and no manual adjustments to make. The rubber construction makes Timbren's springs more elastic than similar products constructed of microcellular urethane. And more elasticity allows for a more comfortable ride because the rubber has more travel.

They also provide a more comfortable ride by absorbing road shock and improving roll stability. Easy to install and use.Installed these with only one issue, which was on the driver side rear axle. The axle had a ABS sensor cable bracket on the axle that need to be readjusted and trimmed down. The BumpStock was hitting this bracket on one edge. So actually, it's not and exact fit. But this issue is really a FORD placement issue of that cable. So just be aware that some extra work may be needed to install them. Passenger rear side install perfectly. Next is the drive to see how much better the coach drives, heard great reviews on that
Did NOT fit the F53 factory frame as described. They landed right on top of the brake lines and would have crushed them if completely installed. Contacted etrailer with the issue, they stated I would have to have the lines moved or bent to accommodate the new springs. Nope. Instead I wanted to return them and exchange for the double expensive Sumo springs and pay the difference. etrailer wouldn't take them back. So I was stuck with $[XX] plus of springs that I couldn't use even though the site claimed they were a direct fit for our 2014 Thor ACE. I bought Sumos elsewhere and chalked up the $[XX] loss to learning to never fully trust a vendor or their customer service department.
You guys were fantastic! For sending me this part after the US post office lost the other one! I am going to make a video about this tomorrow and send it to you guys this was fantastic
Best investment for suspension so far!! Had wind, semi’s and large dips in road sway our 2015 Bounder all over the road. With the timbrens installed took care of almost all of that! Big dips, Bounce one time, done. Semi’s pass no issue, Wyoming winds cuts right through!
I am giving this product four stars. The fitment for the product was good for my F53 chassis. I had to use the mounting holes moving the springs/bump stop, forward and not on center due to a brake line on the right side, passenger side, and had to finesse a the driver’s side brake line in an arc to clear the spring. This may be unique to to my motor home, but I believe the information should have been noted for the install. Just a helpful hint for the next installer.
Hello,
To follow up on my purchase of my TIMBREN, I am not satisfied. I find that it gives a suspension too hard and feel all the imperfections of the road. I just had them installed. I prefer the SUMOSPRING that I had on my other RV.
I would like to know if it is possible to return them and exchange them for SUMOSPRING knowing that I have a MIRAMAR 33.5, 2016.
Thank you for following up with me as soon as possible.
Fit to the factory frame with no drulling just as advertised. Definitely made huge difference in front sway and handling.
These suspension dampener’s help with sway from motor home but are a stiffer ride than the stock ones. I wish I could compare the differences with the Sumos springs on the rear as well.
Did my due diligence researching this product, including other customer reviews.
Can't wait to install them, but the Winnebago has been put to sleep for the season. I'll submit a performance report in the spring.
Great product, I installed Sumu Springs on the front of my 36 ft. Holiday Rambler last year and it help the front a great deal. I am sure these Timbren bump stops will add greatly to the sway and ride Issue, very easy to install Did the complete job in 50 minutes. Cant wait to get her on the road.
Missing 2 washers hardware was lose in box
Along with sumos in the front the Timbrens on the rear have significant improved my class a coaches ride. The Timbrens made a slightly noticeable improvement over just the sumos in the fronts when it comes to handling bumpy roads. The Timbrens however made a very significant improvement in body role. The coach handles turns better and passing trucks on the highway. I recommend the sumo front, timbren rear combo to significantly improve overall ride, comfort, handling and road noise. On my 2020 f53 the install was more challenging than just remove factory bump stops and bolt on. I had the re route a brake line sensor, trim the sensor bracket and make some spacing plates to get me a little better clearance from the sensor bracket on the axel. etrailer was great to work with as always.
Just installed the Timbren suspension stabilizers on the rear of my Newmar Canyon Star 3911 motor-home. The installation was easy and simple. As the video showed, just remove the old bump stops and install the Timbren's. They are significantly larger than the stock bump stops. After having installed the Sumo Springs on the front and the Timbrens on the rear, the ride is so much better. No more swaying back and forth when a big truck passes or a crosswind. I highly recommend this combination since there is no drilling into the frame of the motor home and you do not have to remove the tires either.
The one star is not a product rating, rather it’s a packaging issue. The original Timbren box is thin and weak. That’s the box that was sent through the carrier. It arrived in tatters and only bolts and one bracket were inside. Unfortunate that such an expensive product would not have extra tape or, re-boxed to arrive at destination successfully. Called etrailer immediately and they are shipping a new one. Kudos for that etrailer! Just very confused on the packaging of this item? Perhaps it’s just a fluke. Thank You etrailer!
Ordered Timbren from etrailer.com on Monday and received them today (4 days). I installed them on the rear of my 2016 Fleetwood Southwind Class A motorhome. Install took an hour with a short break between sides. I’m 67 years old and it was a hot day. So I thought the install went really well. A couple of tips: Use a cordless impact wrench with deep well socket. Also I used wood shims to hold Timbrens in place while securing the bolts through the frame. A quick test drive revealed a smooth ride on the straight away. What was immediately apparent was during turns the was a noticeable decrease in body sway. I have 2 piece Sumo springs on the front. I feel like this is going to be a great combination and looking forward to hit the road!
The difference these made in our RV was like night and day! It reduced the sway to nothing, the rattling from the inside is basically gone (unless you hit a pothole or big bump) super easy to install I'm a 60 y/o lady and I installed them myself.
great and fast service needed the parts right away for a road trip and you got it done
Too early to give a ride review but I received the TFFF53B fronts and the TFRF53A rears for my 2019 Fleetwood Southwind 35K while at a campground this week. Easy enough to change out while there. It is about.a 2 hour job to change out all 4. The front right took me the longest and you have to reuse the existing bolt. A washer should be provided because the hole in the bracket is almost as large as the bolt head. I will be placing a large flat washer there. The rears took less time to change.. I used the first and third slots in the mounting brackets and they actually put the unit more over the center of the axle than the original bump stops. Same was true in the front. No clearance issue or interference with my trac bar.
I have not installed rear yet but the front work good.
same brand.
Improved overall handling by reducing the side-to-side sway caused by cross-winds, passing tractor trailer trucks and turning.
Looks like a well made product and if you have some metric tools install will be easy. I'm 77 and no metric tools, I was finished in about an hour and a half including clean up. Can't wait for the road test.
Installed Timbren on my 2007 coachman Mirada , Ford F 53 chassis (2005) with a panhard bar , tight fit with the bar brackets. I spaced the Timbren away from the frame with large flat washers which gave a more comfortable clearance to brackets. Some brake line and vent hose adjustments and a hole to drill for a Factory electrical part mount . I gained 1 1/4 “ trailer hitch height , very satisfied.
Went together well, only an hour at most on a 2021 Fleetwood Bounder 36F.
With Koni shocks it should travel alot better.
Product made it to me … box was destroyed but all of the parts were good. Bolted in as stated in directions
Great product, easy to put on. It took less than 45 minutes to put the new Timber butt stops on. Only thing I would request is to tape up the box they cam in, because by the time it travels to your location it’s beat to hell and back. Like the last time I ordered the ones for the front, all the parts were missing. Luckily this time all items were still in the box.
