SumoSprings Maxim Rear Helper Springs Test Course

Speaker 1: This is what our springs are going to look like when they're installed. They're going to provide constant point of contact between your leaf spring and the side of your frame, so you'll have benefits for your Sumo Springs throughout the entire suspension travel from fully extended to full retracted. You'll have one on each side, so if you have an uneven load, you'll have one spring applying more pressure than the other to help balance that out. Additionally, it'll help increase the smoothness of your ride, because you're going to have a proportional amount of spring tension the more it's compressed. It'll also help reduce sway. If you're hitting any uneven pavement, these will help absorb some of that road shock and minimize the amount of sway you have. When wind is hitting up against the side of your motor home, these will also help work in conjunction with one another to help minimize that sway.

Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Air Springs Installation - 2019 Ram 1500 Classic

Speaker 1: Today on our 2019 Ram 1500 Classic, you're going to be taking a look at and I'll show you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Air Springs, part number AL89370.This is what our air springs look like when they're installed. This kit's going to come with both air springs, one for each side of the vehicle, all of your air lines, and all of your brackets to get them mounted. The brackets are going to have a black powder coat finish, they're going to resist any rust or corrosion, and there's not going to be any drilling or welding required to get these installed. Your kit's going to come with your braided lines plus your two nylon lines, in case you want to add a compressor. For instance, like the Air Lift Load Controller HD Compressor. You can find that on our website using part number AL25856.One thing that's really nice about these bags is you're going to have a jounce stop that's built in the center of the bag.

SumoSprings Maxim Rear Helper Springs Installation - 2012 Winnebago Adventurer Motorhome

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Winnebago Adventure, we're gonna be installing Sumo Springs Maximum Custom Helper Springs for the rear axle, part number SSR-180-54-1.And this is what our springs are gonna look like when they're installed. They're gonna provide constant point of contact between your lead spring and the side of your frame so you'll have benefits for your Sumo Springs throughout the entire suspension travel, from fully extended to fully retracted. These springs can compress up to 80 percent to provide varying amounts of load doubling carrying capacity. You'll have one on each side, so if you have an uneven load, you'll have one spring applying more pressure than the other to help balance that out.Additionally, it'll help increase the smoothness of your ride, because you're going to have a proportional amount of spring tension the more it's compressed. It'll also help reduce sway, so if you're hitting any uneven pavement, these will help absorb some of that road shock and minimize the amount of sway you have. And, when wind is hitting up against the side of your motor home, these will also help, working in conjunction with one another to help minimize that sway. What this means for you is when you're driving down the road, you're gonna have a more comfortable, more relaxed drive because you're not gonna be fighting the road so much on those uneven pavements, potholes, and on windy days, it won't effect you as badly. So, when you get to your destination, you'll feel more alive and ready to enjoy yourself. These springs are installed alongside your factory jounce bumper, so if you have a complete suspension collapse, your factory jounce bumper is still there to provide additional support. We'll begin our installation by preparing our Sumo Spring.

SumoSprings Maxim Rear Helper Springs Installation - 2012 Ford F-53

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 Ford F-53 Chassis, we're installing SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs for the rear axle, part number SSR-180-54-1. This is what our springs are going to look like when they're installed. They're going to provide constant point of contact between your leaf spring and the side of your frame, so you'll have benefits for your SumoSprings throughout the entire suspension travel from fully extended to fully retracted. These springs can compress up to 80%, can provide varying amounts of load leveling carrying capacity. You'll have one on each side, so if you have an uneven load, you'll have one spring applying more pressure than the other to help balance that out. Additionally, it will help increase the smoothness of your ride, because you're going to have a proportional amount of spring tension the more it's compressed. It'll also help reduce sway, so if you're hitting any uneven pavement, these will help absorb some of that road shock and minimize the amount of sway you'd have and when wind is hitting up against the side of your motor home, these will also help working in conjunction with one another to help minimize that sway.

Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System Test Course

Speaker 1: Let's take our Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement out on our test course.First we'll show you the factory bump stocks. Factory bump stocks are only designed to prevent your suspension from bottoming out. Because of this, when we're hauling heavy loads you'll often see the rear sag or the front end rises. As a result, overall handling, traction, steering, and braking is negatively affected. With our Timbrens installed you can see the difference. The resistance from the Timbren Suspension Enhancement system works with the factory suspension to keep your vehicle level and improve your driving experience. Rubber springs work independently to support the driver or passenger side of your vehicle.

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ford F350 Super Duty, we're going to take a look at and also show you how install the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper springs for the rear axle. Part number is F2600.After our air bags have been installed, you'll notice an immediate difference there in the overload spring area. As we do our side to side maneuvering, you'll notice a lot less body roll. The air bags are helping to support that weight and keep our truck operating nice and level. As we go over our bumps with the air bags installed, you'll notice everything is much smoother. That's transferred right through to the cab. It feels much nicer in the vehicle when we're driving it and the contents of our camper and trailer are going to be much safer.Another big benefit we get with the dual inflation valves is independent adjustability.

SuperSprings Vehicle Suspension SSR-107-47 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the Sumo Springs solo custom helper springs for the rear axle. Now, this fits a variety of vehicles, so to insure that it is a fit for your vehicle, you can use the vehicle fit guide, which is located at etrailer.com.These helper springs upgrade your vehicle's rear suspension for improved diver control and comfort. They really help keep your vehicle level when you're hauling or towing a heavier load and they help absorb bumps and shocks and they drastically help minimize the amount of sway that you experience, so this is really great for RVs that are affected by cross-winds, passing traffic, all that kind of stuff. It's going to help keep your vehicle tracking in straight line as you head down the road. They do feature progressive load control so that means that these springs compress according to the weight of your cargo.so, for lighter loads, these springs compress easily at first for soft engagement and a less bumpy ride and then for heavier loads, they compress by as much as 80% for maximum support. They also work independently from one another to compensate for off-center loads and reduced body roll during sharp turns. They're made from a durable, micro-cellular urethane materials so it's designed to work in temperatures ranging from negative 25 degrees Fahrenheit to positive 200 degrees Fahrenheit. And it will resist damage that's typically caused by oils, road salts, and UV rays. Also, they're built with minimal lateral expansion, so that means that these springs compress vertically instead of off to the sides, so that way, they're not affected or damaged when operating in tight spaces. My favorite feature is that they're completely maintenance free. You install them and you forget about them. There's no tubing to run or air pressure to monitor, like when using air springs. It's a simple no drill installation, comes with everything you need for your install.

SumoSprings Rebel Front Axle Helper Springs Installation - 2012 Ford F-53

Speaker 1: Today on our 2012 F-53 chassis we're going to be installing SumoSprings Rebel custom helper springs for the front axle, part number SSF-170-40-2. We've currently got our suspension completely suspended so you can see what our springs I'll look like. When you go over large bumps, they will be able to separate and they'll come right back together. The alignment pin here in the center will line right back up with the one above it.These jounce bumpers are going to provide additional cushion in the front of the your vehicle, giving you a smoother ride. They're additionally going to act as load leveling, so if you have a slightly uneven weight inside your vehicle, the SumoSprings will help work with one another to level your vehicle back out and maintain a more stable ride. Additionally, when you hit any potholes, it's going to absorb some of that impact so it'll help reduce driver fatigue when going down the road.

Vehicle Suspension Questions and Answers

  • Best Way to Prevent Sagging Suspension When Towing a Trailer
  • For sag from towing a trailer the best recommendation I can make is actually a weight distribution system. Suspension enhancement will help level your truck while towing. But the advantage to a weight distribution system is that it levels the vehicle by distributing the tongue weight of the trailer up to the front axle of the vehicle as well. This will help greatly with handling and braking, especially in an emergency situation. The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is...

  • Recommended Air Pressure of Firestone Ride Rite Air Springs # F2071 on Dodge Ram 3500 Dually
  • Other than saying that the air bags need to be kept between 5 and 100 psi, Firestone does not offer much in the way of specifics. The instructions mention that as a general rule of thumb, 1 psi will support approximately 40 lbs of load. Your best bet is to use enough pressure to level the vehicle, and then adjust plus or minus according to your personal preference. You can do this with the 5th wheel in place, and for the unloaded scenario. Keep in mind that using an air bag suspension...

  • For your 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4 I do recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite helper springs # F2596. I have included a link to a video showing an example installation of this kit for you. Adding an on-board compressor system is an excellent idea any time air bags are used on a vehicle. It will allow you to add or remove air from the comfort of the truck cab so you will not have to have a separate compressor. There are different compressor systems you can use. If you are looking...

  • Best Air Helper Springs and Compressor System for a 2018 Ram 2500
  • For your 2018 Ram 2500, I highly recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Red Label Extreme Duty Air Helper Springs part # F2706. The Red Label Airbags are Firestone's heavy duty version. The airbags are rated with a support capacity up to 7,500 lbs which will be perfect for trailers up to 25,000 lbs. The airbags will only be responsible for the tongue weight (TW) of the trailer and not the entire gross trailer weight (GTW). You will have no problems installing the airbags as they will not...

  • Towing Capacity of a 2013 Toyota Tacoma 4.0 Double Cab 4x4 with Factory Tow Package
  • I can help you out, no problem. What you are going to want to look at is the towing capacities of the truck. You need to know the gross combined weight rating. This is the most the vehicle, including cargo and occupants, plus the trailer can weigh. This information is usually in the owners manual or on a sticker in the door jamb. Looking at an online copy of the owners manual the 4 liter V6 model of the 2013 Toyota Tacoma with 4-wheel drive could have one of several capacities depending...

  • Experiencing Bounce When Towing 24 FT Pull Behind Trailer w/ 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
  • There are a couple things that come to mind that may help with the bounce that you are experiencing when towing the 24 ft pull behind trailer with your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. I would start by checking to make sure that your trailer isn't overloaded. Next, make sure that the tongue weight is between 10 and 15 percent of the overall trailer weight. Not enough weight in the tongue can cause bounce in the truck/trailer connection and too much weight could cause bounce at the back of...

  • A rear-axle air bag kit in a truck like a 2017 Ford F-250 can certainly help deal with rear suspension compression from the pin weight of a 5th wheel trailer. Air bag kits can be equipped with on-board compressors that eliminate having to manually inflate the air bags to find the correct pressure for the trailer's pin weight. Being able to do this from the comfort of the truck cab while you're able to feel the results can make life much easier. All rear axle air bag kits for your truck...

Please note that you should always have at least 5 psi in the springs up to 100 psi. When in its regular state the bags will not expand much beyond how they come in the box. They are 6 inches tall again not counting the valves. And finally, the diameter is 5-3/4 inches. Use these measurements as guides...

  • How to Reduce Sway in 2016 Ram 2500 Diesel Laramie Crew Cab with a Truck Bed Slide-On Camper
  • Congratulations on your new truck bed camper! I'm sure you will enjoy it for many years. Sway is a common issue with truck bed campers which can be reduced, but not eliminated. The campers are not particularly aerodynamic and the sway will increase with your speed and high winds. Even though your truck sits level with the camper installed, you could still benefit from a Suspension Enhancement System (SES). I recommend a jounce-style spring system like the Timbren # TDR2500D.
