Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation - 2010 Dodge Journey

Ryan: Hey, everybody. Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today, on our 2010 Dodge Journey, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Class III two inch max frame trailer hitch receiver. The Dodge Journey is a very versatile vehicle. So, whether we're taking our whole family on a trip or using it for work, we're going to be able to free up some space now because we can use a cargo carrier. Since this hitch has a pretty impressive weight capacity, it's also going to allow us to easily do some light duty towing. One of things that separates this hitch from many of the others is that, for the most part, it's going to be completely hidden. The only thing you're really going to see is the receiver tube opening.

etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Installation - 2016 Dodge Journey

Today on our 2016 Dodge Journey, you're going to be taking a look at, and we're going to show you how to install the eTrailer Class III custom fit trailer hitch receiver. So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it fully installed. It's going to sit right below the bumper, and it's going to give us a 2" receiver tube opening, so we're going to have a really wide variety of options when we mount up any kind of accessories. Now, the way we're going to mount any of those accessories is to the hitch pin hole here on the side, and it is going to accept a standard 5/8 pin and clip. Now these aren't included in the kit, but you can pick them up here at etrailer.com, along with some locking devices to keep your accessories secure. Now if you plan on doing some towing, the safety chain connection point is going to be a plate style, welded to the bottom of the receiver tube. You can see we'll have plenty of room to get most sized hooks on or off.Now as far as weight capacity, our hitch is going to have a 400 pound tongue weight, which is going to be the maximum downward force to the receiver tube, along with a 4,000 pound gross trailer weight rating.
