B and W Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Shane: Hi, I'm Shane with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to walk you through the installation on the B&W Class V trailer hitch receiver on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. This hitch is going to be great for hauling those heavier trailers. Again, this is going to be a Class V hitch, so it's going to have a higher tongue weight capacity and a higher trailer towing capacity. It's going to be great; maybe you're a construction worker, you need to get maybe a skid loader to a job site or maybe you're pulling a horse trailer. Again, this hitch is designed to handle all those heavier loads.A couple of things I want to point out that I really like about this hitch, and one of them is going to be the finish.

Best 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Trailer Hitch

Speaker 1: Today we're going to be taking a look at the best trailer hitch options for your 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. Up top here we're going to have the etrailer hitch, which is going to be a Class 4. Then right below that we're also going to have a CURT Class 4. Then down at the bottom we're going to have a Draw-Tite that's going to be a Class 3 hitch. Now if I was looking for a hitch for my Silverado, I would definitely go with the etrailer hitch purely because I like the finish on it and it is going to have that higher weight capacity. But let's take a closer look at some of the differences between all of them.Right off the bat, just looking at our hitches you can already see that our Draw-Tite is going to have a completely different design than our CURT or our etrailer hitches. Is going to have that round crosstube opposed to the square, and it is going to have a different attachment point.

etrailer.com Trailer Hitch Installation - 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to be taking a look at the Etrailer Class 4 Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number E98860.So here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed on our Silverado. The main part of the cross tube is gong to be hidden right behind the bumper, and really all we're gong to see is that receiver tube sticking out. Now it's a Class 4, so it's going to give us that 2" by 2" receiver tube opening, which is going to open up a wide variety of options when it comes to anything we want to mount. All the way from ball mounts, bike racks, car repairs, just about anything's going to be in that 2" variety. The way we're gonna mount all of our accessories is through the hitch pin hole on the side, and it is going to accept a standard 5/8" pin and clip, although they're not included in the kit, you can pick it up here at Etrailer.com. As far as the safety chain connection points go, they're going to be a loop style, welded into the bottom of the receiver tube. And as you can see we're not going to have too much trouble getting most size hooks on or off.

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Draw-Tite Max Frame custom fit class 3 trailer hitch receiver. This is going to offer the two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. The part number is 75866.Now here's what the hitch is going to look like installed on your Silverado. You can see it's going to be pretty visible as it comes across. We're also going to be adding a small rubber cap here to the step in the bumper. There's a main bolt that goes through here, gives us great support and great strength but they've cleaned it up by putting that on so it's just not a bolt head hanging out.

Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to take a look at and show you how to install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver. This offers the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. Its part number is 76016.Here's what the hitch is going to look like installed on the Silverado. You got your square crossbar. It's going to be visible just a little bit, just barely hangs out from underneath the bumper. The end of your receiver tube opening, it's going to be just inset from the outer edge of the bumper here, so we're really not going to have any issues with bumping into it with our legs or shins or something like that. You see the reinforcement collar they put on the end here.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - Curt

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the Curt Custom Fit Class Four Trailer Hitch Receiver. This offers the 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening. It's part number is C14006.Now, here's what our hitch is going to look like installed on the Silverado. You're going to see a little bit of the cross tube as it comes over where it makes our connection point with the frame. Here in the middle of the vehicle we'll have the 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening. You can see they put a nice flush reinforcement collar around it, and it's not going to extend past the outer edge of the bumper here, so really no issues with running into it or anything like that. Now, this is a class four hitch, so it's kind of going to be slight different than a class three hitch in that it's going to have higher tow rating, going to be a little bit beefier of a hitch, but it shares a similarity in the receiver tube opening here.

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 - Curt

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 we're gonna take at, and also show you how to install, the Curt Custom Fit Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver, this is gonna offer the 2" by 2" receiver tube opening. Its part number is C13175.And here's what your hitch will look like once you get it installed on your Silverado. It's gonna be mainly hidden, you'll see a little bit of it come across here, and here on the other side. You've got plate that go up and connect into the frame. It's gonna leave you with your 2" by 2" receiver tube opening and your safety chain connection points really being the visible point. See we've got a nice flush reinforcement collar around the end, that's gonna be just inside the outside edge of the bumper, so you really should have to worry about bumping into it or anything like that. Now this being a class III hitch it's gonna be really versatile, I would imagine, on the truck.
