Best 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Tonneau Cover Options

Today we're going to be taking a look at the different styles of tonneau covers for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. When choosing a cover for your Silverado, you got a lot of different styles and options, the first being the traditional soft cover. Now, you can get this in a fold up version like this, or you can get it in the roll up version. They're still going to have the same features. The next option you have is the canister roll up, meaning that when you pull the cover back to get access to your bed, you're going to have a canister right here sitting on the inside of your truck bed that holds your cover in place and doesn't take up any room on the back window.Another option you have is the aluminum panel, the hard cover that just folds back like so and you keep folding it back for a partial or full bed access. The last option you have is the hard roll up cover that we have on our Silverado right now and with this one, when you want to open it up, it just rolls on top of the truck bed up on itself all the way back.So let's go over a couple of pros and cons of each cover. We'll start with the traditional soft cover. Now like I said, you can get this is a paneled version or the roll up. more

Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs Installation - 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, we're going to be taking a look at and also showing you how to install the Firestone Ride Right Double Convoluted Air Helper Springs for the rear axle, part number is F2596.Now if you're in the market for a set of airbags for your truck, it's probably because you've got a situation and something like this. Either you're carrying a utility trailer that's often loaded and it's causing vehicle sag, maybe you've got a gooseneck, a fifth wheel, in bed camper, any number of things. Just anytime we're loading down our truck, essentially what you're going to have is vehicle sag.The more of a load that we put on our truck, the more the rear ends sag. And when that happens we're taking the truck out of its normal operating range, we're putting excess weight on the back, that's going to make this rear suspension work a lot harder. When your lead springs have extra work to do, they're going to build up heat, friction, and eventually it's just going to fatigue quicker than what it normally would. Now we know the rear end sags, but we really don't tend to think about the front end very much. And there's a lot of things that happen that can be very detrimental to the ride quality of your truck when that rear end sags. more

The closest point from the back of the truck to the rack is about 6 -1/2 inches and the overall dimensions added to the back of the Silverado is about 12-1/2 inches. By pulling the pin at the bottom of the mast, you can tilt the rack back and have full access to the back of the Silverado. Next, you can pull the pin at the top of the mast, swing your cradle arms out, reinsert the pin to secure it in place. With the cradle arms extended, the overall length added to the back of the Silverado is about 38 inches. Now, keep in mind that this measurement may vary depending on tire size, hitch style, or after market accessories. We'll do this measurement on both sides of the vehicle to ensure that our feet are in line with each other. Then we can use the included tool and make our way back from passenger side to the driver side tightening our foot packs a little at a time until our clamps are secured against the roof line of our truck. Once we have both sides tight, we can slide the tool into the foot pack and close the cover. more
