The Yakima OutPost HD is a solid solution if you're looking for a bed rack system that'll allow you to have something at a mid height where you can access your items and load a lot easier, but still have a real beefy weight capacity for however you want to use it, be it work or play. There's a lot of accessories that work along with it and it's just a really good utility item. With the OutPost HD, it's a really versatile as far as how you can secure your loads to the top. Your crossbars here are gonna be 68 inches long, three inches wide and an inch and a half tall. And on each end you'll see a silver bar where you can tie on hook straps or even the Yakima HD hook straps designed to work with the bar. more

The BeDrock HD is a solid option as far as ladder racks for the back of your F-150. Especially since this guy's the short bed crew cab, you're pretty limited as far as your cargo area, so this will allow you to take advantage of the space above your bed for those bigger bulkier items. The BedRock system is rated for up to 300 pounds on road and up to 180 pounds off road. The bars themselves are 78 inches long, about three inches wide and an inch and a half tall. So that's gonna work for your kayak carriers, cargo boxes and bike racks, just about any rooftop accessory that uses clamp hooks. more

The reason that you would want to have a ladder rack is gonna allow you, especially with the short box truck, to have more length for longer loads. So lumber, ladders, PVC pipe, and even on the sports and rec side, if you had a kayak, or a cargo box, these types of accessories come in handy to give you more usable space to move your bigger bulkier items. The TradeSport is gonna be a great carrier if you're needing something that's more heavy duty, while being lightweight at the same time. Your capacity is right at 800 pounds and as you see, you have a set, a load stop there on top, that has the maximum spread of 62 inches. The Erickson Ladder Rack is a nice lightweight aluminum rack that's gonna give you a lot of capacity. It's rated up to 800 pounds, so it'll handle those bigger bulkier loads like lumber, possibly PVC pipe or longer things that wouldn't fit into your short box Ford. Essentially, this is gonna be more value minded and very utility 'cause it's not very pretty or you know, appealing as far as the look, but it does have a lot of capacity. Our ladder rack has a 800 pound capacity, so that's gonna work really well for your heavier loads. Starting from the top here, you have your load stops that are adjustable, using the hand nut here where you can slide them back and forth along the underside T track. more

Now that's gonna be a really unique option because it's a very heavy duty ladder rack with tons of adjustability front to back, but that cantilever up front is the piece that extends over the cab, giving us more usable space and support for longer loads, whether it be a really long ladder, lumber, conduit, any sort of elongated items that we don't have room for in the truck bed, it can go above it and extend over the cab with that extra support, so everything is secure when they're going down the road. So this is gonna be a pretty unique system. It's a good way to get some extra storage up above your truck bed, especially if you don't wanna mess with something like a ladder rack. Ladder racks are generally more expensive but also just a lot taller and especially if you don't get an adjustable ladder rack everything's gonna be pretty much designed for a mid-size or a full size pickup and it's maybe gonna look a little goofy on the Maverick and b, a little bit too tall for most accessories. Something like this gets it down really low and really manageable so if you've got something like a bike rack or a basket here for some extra storage, it's gonna be easy to reach and set up. more

You've got a much smaller bed space here, so any way you can carry some extra stuff with you is gonna be very helpful. Now, if you're not gonna go in the bed or in the vehicle, the next best place is to move on up, whether that be a roof rack or a ladder rack. Now if you're looking at roof-mounted accessories, something like a kayak carrier, maybe a tent, you're gonna have a lot more options when it comes to a ladder rack because with it you're gonna get a boosted weight capacity compared to a roof rack. more

What makes this ladder rack unique is if you have a tonneau cover that doesn't cover up your stake pockets, you can use it with it. So there's gonna be two different types. You're gonna have one that's just straight upright, and you're gonna have the other ones that are a little more in. So with this one, we can get a tri-fold-type hard tonneau cover on here. more

So this is gonna be an excellent way of kind of varying up how your ladder rack can work, and what I mean by that and as you can probably see, we do have two different height positions with this bad boy available. Why I really like that, of course, you could just raise this up, start utilizing it just like a ladder lack that we've probably come to know and love out there, making it really easy to get either our kayaks, our canoes, or even our ladders, right, on top of here, get above the cab, which is great. But maybe you just have some accessories you wanna quickly access and you just need to maximize the cargo space here in your bed of your truck, you can simply lower it down here, making a lot easier to get to our accessories. So I really do like how this system works, as you guys are gonna see later, the install of it, really really simple. This ladder rack is going to be made of steel with a nice powder-coated finish. So it's not really going to rust away over time, giving us about a thousand pounds of capacity. It has some round tubes to this first bar, can be about 29 inches. So it clears the cab with plenty of room. more

Today, on our 2020 Ford F-150, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Ladder Rack.And to complete this kit, you are going to need to pick up some Thule TracRac Base Rails, which are sold separately. When it comes to ladder racks, there's a ton of different options available, and you're going to want to choose one that's best going to suit your needs.I will say I'm pretty impressed with this one, for one big reason. And that reason really separates this rack from many of the others available. That's the fact that our cross rails here are actually adjustable. So say, if you have a small ladder, or some pieces of lumber, or something like that, you can actually push these two closer together, and accommodate for that load.Or if we have larger items, we're able to pull it all the way back, and again, accommodate for it. more

Jon: Hey guys, Jon 00:00:01 here for etrailer.com and today I'd like to talk to you about the Thule Xsporter Pro Ladder Rack for our 2020, Ford F250. This has a weight capacity of 450 pounds and the great thing about this is we can actually adjust the height to accommodate different loads that we might be carrying.So right now we have a six foot ladder up here on a ladder rack just to give you an idea of the length we have, obviously we can use it to carry something longer like lumber or maybe a kayak or canoe, maybe a bigger ladder than this. We have these nice load stops so we can adjust along the T-tracks here. So I want to go ahead and unload our ladder and then we're going to look a little closer at the crossbars.If we remove the screw that secures the end cap, we can remove it and gain access to our T-slot here. We can use this to load accessories, like maybe a bike rack or something like that that has T-bolts with it, or like our load stops, we're able to slide it along the T-slot by simply securing, tightening and loosening this knob. We don't have to use clamps or anything, we just loosen it up, slide it along to accommodate any loads we have. more

John: Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com. Today, I want to talk about the Thule TracRac TracOne Ladder Rack for a 2020 F-250. This is a great way to get some cargo up and out of our truck bed. Maybe it's a little bit longer, maybe it's a little heavier, but it's a way to free up truck bed space. The TracOne has an aluminum construction and it's available both in matte black, like we see on the pickup today, as well as silver. The aluminum construction is great because it means as we're loading cargo and we're scratching things up, you know, just really using the ladder rack, we don't have to worry about any scratches starting to rust or corrode. more

Hey guys, John here from etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the Buyers Product Aluminum Matte Black Ladder Rack for a 2020 F-250. The buyer's products ladder rack has an 800 pound weight capacity, which is pretty standard. Just to give you an idea of what kind of loads we can carry, we have an eight foot ladder that is up there right now. It hovers right above our truck cab and then comes back to the rear bumper. So normally with a short bed like this, we'd have to sit at catty-corner inside the truck bed, or have it leaning up on our tailgate with this we get it up, we get it out of the way, we're not adding extra length to our truck bed. more

Zack: Hey guys, Zack here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule TracRac TracONE truck bed ladder rack system on our 2020 Ford F-150. This is going to be a solid way if you're looking to carry any kind of longer items such as ladders, lumbers, I even see people throwing kayaks and standup paddle boards up here. It's a great way to clear up some space in your truck, get it up there and secure it nice and still be able to use your truck bed for all those other things.Now, I only have this partially installed. It's held in place with these C clamps. It's a pretty quick and easy way, it doesn't require any drilling and what I like about it is it allows you to kind of adjust it if you want to but we like putting ours in this configuration we have today. So, essentially what you do is you take this bolt and connect it into that foot, and we'll just tighten those down. more

Now, this is a really nice and simple ladder rack that's going to allow you to get elongated loads like ladders, maybe some lumber so that you can extend it over the cab of your pickup. You don't have to drive with your tailgate open for those loads. You don't have to have them sticking out of the bed. If your tailgate up, it's a lot safer to haul this stuff on the ladder rack, have it secured while you're headed down the road. more

Does the Buyers Products Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack Suit Your 2016 Ford F-150- Video
Today on our 2016 Ford F-150, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Buyers Products Over-The -Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack. I've already got it in place just to give you a good idea of what it looks like. As you can see, it's going to allow us to carry those elongated items over our cab; so things like ladders, lumber, PVC, anything like that, it's going to work out nicely. I've got more than enough clearance between my cab and the underside of the bar, so we don't need to worry about anything coming in contact with it.Now my F-150 also has a six-and-a-half foot bed here, but it'll work out nicely with a five-and a-half foot bed, eight-foot bed, any one of those. Now the whole thing is made out of a steel construction with a 1,000 pound weight capacity, so we've got more than enough to carry our gear. Also in each corner, I'd like to point out that we have a variety of tie down loops to work with: hooks, straps, rope, anything that we need to tie down our gear. more

Today, on our 2017 Ford F 150 SuperCrew Cab, we're going to be doing a test fit on the Buyers Products Over-The-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack. Now I've got the silver installed, but it's also available in black, see etrailer.com. Now with this installed, it's going to allow us to carry ladders, lumbar, paddle boards, kayaks, surf skis, really anything elongated. As you can see, it's going to extend over our cab allowing us to carry those long tools or whatever it is we might be carrying. Now the whole thing is 134 inches long. It sits up about 35 inches from the top of our truck bed rail. more

Today on our 2016 Ford Super Cab we're going to be doing a test fit on the Buyer's Products Over-the-Cab Truck Bed Ladder Rack.Now this is available in silver and black so see etrailer.com. Now I've already got it in place on my F150. It's going to allow us to carry gear, tools, or anything elongated well over our cab as you can see. It measures about 134 inches long. It's about 35 inches high so we're going to have plenty of space between our cab and the ladder rack. We can rest assured none of that elongated gear is going to come in contact with our cab. more
