When looking to set up your vehicle for flat towing, there's going to be five main components that you need to look into. Starting with our base plate, this is going to be your physical structure that your motor home and vehicle will connect through the next main component, which is the tow bar, that's just the physical link between the two and then we have our diode wiring. That's gonna send a signal from the motor home to the towed vehicles, lights and tail lights and allow you to be safe and legal out there on the road by allowing other drivers to know when you're turning and stopping and also to see you at night. Hi, this is Scott with etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at and installing our charge line kit for our 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The charge line kit that we have set up on our 4xe is really essential and you're really gonna have to have it if you plan on flat towing your Jeep. This is gonna be for charging your battery when you're going down the road with your RV. It's one of them deals to where it's gonna plug in into the front of your vehicle and shoot a charge up to your battery and give you a trickle charge so that way when your battery's using its functions when you're flat towing going down the road, when you get to your location, you're not gonna have a dead battery. 'Cause you really don't want to have that when you're trying to go to your destination and have a good time and you're going to unhook your vehicle and it won't start because your battery's dead. Now with these setups, we do get some questions sometimes and people ask if it's gonna affect their RV battery at all. more

Well the one we're gonna put in is gonna be so it will have a constant 12 volt power source from directly from the battery and not through your ignition system. You want to have constant 12 volt power when you install a portable braking system like we're gonna install right here in the floor of our Jeep today. As you can see here, we have our 12 volt outlet set up on our driver's side over here by the kick panel down by where your foot will go. more

Hi, this is Scott with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at our K Source Snap & Zap Tow Mirrors for our 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. The Snap & Zap tow mirrors we have on our Jeep today, I think they look really good. They match the trim we have on ours really well, and it's really hard to tell that they're even tow mirrors at all. It looks like an OEM fit from the front. One of the nice things about this as well is, you get the passenger and the driver's side with this one, and if yours happens to have turn signal indicators on your mirrors, it will have a clear window where that will actually shine through, and your blinkers, or whatever that comes through on the side of your mirror will still shine through. more

Having a weight distribution attached to a trailer is a great option, especially if you are wanting to prolong the life of your suspension in your vehicle, prolong the wear on your tires, and also it'll prove the drivability for when you're going down to the campsite. So having a waitress distribution system is great for balancing out your load. So instead of all that tongue weight being down on that hitch, it's going to balance that out and relieve some pressure on those back tires, which will create better drivability and less wear. So better even distributed weight on those tires will create turning and handling way better with this system. more

Hey, everyone, I'm Evangeline, right here at etrailer. Today we're taking a look at how the Thule Verse bike rack fits on the 2023 Jeep Gladiator. Now this is gonna be a very versatile bike rack that's great for different bikes of different shapes and sizes, has a really good and heavy weight capacity. But when you pair it with the Gladiator, there are some things that I actually recommend adding onto this rack so that you can get the fullest and best experience. While this rack works amazingly on its own, if you have heavier bikes or if you just want a little extra safety, I recommend getting the ramp add-on, which will be helpful, since the Gladiator sits really high up, as well as looking at the taillight add-on, which you can then use with the wiring on your Gladiator. This will then add lights to your rack, and just a little bit more visibility on the road. more

Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit Installation Guide - 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look, and installing, the Roadmaster crossbar-style base plate on a 2023 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. A base plate is gonna be one of the standard things that you need to start with when it comes to building out a flat-towed Jeep setup, or any flat towed vehicle, because it structurally mounts to the frame of the vehicle and allows you to hook up the rest of your components, but mostly your tow bar, to the hitch on your RV and safely tow your vehicle. Now this is an older style that you really don't see too much anymore. They're still making them because there's plenty of people that have flat towed for a long time, and that's what they're used to, or they're putting something on, as far as like a rock guard, that can mount up to this crossbar. But for the most part, this is something that more times than not, it is people that are just used to it. It's not necessary. more

Hi everyone, Jesse here with etrailer. Today we'll be taking a look at and I'll show you how to install the Universal Wiring Kit for Trailer Brake Controllers, or as we call it, the ETBC7, on our 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Here's what it will look like when it's installed on your vehicle. I did use a long bracket to get it mounted up, but you'll have your 7-way with the cap here, just like any other 7-way. The nice thing about this kit is you'll be able to retain your 4-pole wiring in case you need both. That's a really nice feature. more

Hi, this is Scott with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at and installing our Tekonsha T1 4-pole wiring harness for our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee WL. If you have a hitch on the back of your Jeep and you really need to get some kind of wiring harness set up so you can pull the trailer, the Tekonsha setup is gonna be really nice. It's gonna have everything you need to get you set up so you can have wiring that runs back to your trailer. This is gonna be a really quality setup. You're not gonna have to cut into any of your existing wiring to do this. more
