Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Installation Guide - 2023 GMC Terrain- Video
Hey, guys, this is Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 GMC Terrain, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Draw-Tite Class III two inch hitch receiver. Adding a two inch hitch receiver to the back of your Terrain is gonna allow you to do a couple of different things. You can use it for bike racks, cargo carriers, or if you add four-pole wiring on your vehicle too, which we have on our website, it will allow you to pull trailers. This hitch is gonna have a 5/8 inch hitch pin hole, which will accept a 5/8 pin and clip. The pin and clip do not come with the hitch, so you'll have to pick one up to keep your accessory safe. more

Adding a roof rack to the top of your car is going to allow you to haul different accessories, whether you would like to kayak or you wanna put a roof basket or a roof bag or something like that up there. A lot of people use roof mounted, or roof racks to be able to haul roof mounted bike racks so that they don't have to have a hitch on the back of their vehicle just to haul one or two bikes. This roof rack specifically, I really like it because it looks like it was designed to fit these raised rails. You wanna make sure that you do have the gap underneath your rails. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 GMC Terrain, and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the CURT 4-Pole Wiring Harness. Adding a four-pole wiring harness to the back of your Terrain is gonna allow you to safely get the lighting functions from the back of your vehicle to the back of your trailer. Or if you're wanting to tow an accessory or something like that, a lot of bike racks and cargo carriers will have lights on them, because of state regulations and stuff like that, you have to have lights on the back of the accessory if they are getting close to blocking the lights on your vehicle. This particular wiring harness is designed to work for those vehicles with the factory tow harness, which there's a good chance that your vehicle is going to have it. Typically, it is up right in this general area, it's obviously behind the plastic, but you just have to reach up behind the bumper and you should be able to locate the factory plug. more

Some benefits of that are not only gonna be increasing your towing capability and what specifically you can tow, but you're also gonna be able to retain all of your factory bed as a full, opposed to having some large fifth wheel in the way. So if you're gonna be towing a gooseneck, I would definitely go towards this. more

Today we have a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Air Lift WirelessONE EZ Mount Air Compressor. Having a set of airbags on the back of your truck is very, very nice to be able to level your load when you're carrying a load, either in your bed or behind you on a trailer. But having an onboard air compressor is gonna make it that much easier to use them. If you don't have an onboard air compressor, you're gonna have to either drag a compressor line outta your house, or an airline outta your house, and inflate and deflate your airbags. Some people will carry a bike pump with them and have to add and subtract it that way. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 air helper springs. When it comes to towing with a GMC Sierra 1500, there's a couple of side effects that you'll get and one of them is that you get a lot of sag in the rear end of the truck. They design the truck to be very, very comfortable when you're driving them down the road, but from that you get a very, very soft rear suspension on it and that is what's causing the sag when you put a heavy load on it. These airbags are going to help to support the rear end of the truck when you're hauling a heavy load. There's a lot of other options for suspension enhancements out there like Timbrens or SumoSprings. more

Let's talk about a few features of that, and then the install. Now these Timbrens are going to replace the factory jounce bumpers, and there's no drilling or any type of modification required. It's gonna be extremely easy, to just pop out these old bumpers, throw in the new Timbrens, and increase your vehicle's suspension. So since these are going to be longer than the factory bump stops, they're gonna engage to the axle much sooner. more

Let's go over a few features of that and why you may want one, and then we'll work on the install. One reason you may be looking at a front hitch receiver is if you've got a truck and you're gonna be pulling either a bumper pull camper or maybe even if you've got a larger fifth wheel, that's gonna take up any space you would've used possibly for a cargo carrier or bike rack, something along those lines. This particular neighbor is gonna be using this for a bike rack on the front of their vehicle because they already have a weight distribution hitch that they permanently leave on this truck. If you have a 2023 GMC Terrain and you want to carry a lot of bikes from point A to point B because you and your family wanna go out riding, then a Yakima FullTilt Bike Rack's gonna be a great option for you so let's check it out. Right off the back, we can kinda see how it's gonna sit on the back of here and right now, we have a really good fit. And something to really consider too is this being a hanging style bike rack, 'cause the hanging style, there's always gonna be a little bit of sway to this. And if you're in those really extreme conditions, it's gonna move around a little bit. And what could happen is this tire could turn some and make contact with your vehicle like that, but our handlebar is nowhere near making contact with our back window. more

Gen-Y Offset Gooseneck Trailer Hitch - 2019 GMC Sierra 2500- Video
Hi, everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at Gen-Y's Offset Gooseneck Ball for your factory prep package and we're gonna see how it fits on our 2019 GMC Sierra 2500. Now, why would you want something with an offset ball like this Well, if you're like us and you don't have the eight foot bed, then you might find yourself wanting for some extra turning clearance, and it's really just gonna depend on the truck and trailer combination you have. But especially if you're towing, say like a fifth-wheel camper that you've converted to hook up to a gooseneck ball, and that camper has a really large nose, or say, you've got a horse trailer with a big sleeping quarters in the front, you might find yourself needing that extra turning clearance because you just have more mass up there, and the closer it sits at the cab, the more unnerving it's probably gonna be when you are having to make a tight turn or back into a spot. This kit is gonna give you a five inch offset, so it's gonna put everything five inches closer to the tailgate of your truck, and that can be a really big difference when making those tight turns between hitting your cab and having the proper clearance to make that turn. The one thing I'll say with this though is that it isn't a full kit. more

Hi, everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and later we'll be showing you how to install the etrailer Soft Roll-Up Tonneau Cover on our 2019 GMC Sierra 2500. Now, a tonneau cover is a great way to keep the contents of your bed protected, whether it be from prying eyes or just general weather. Any cover is gonna be better than none, but a soft cover will lack in security, because if someone did want to get inside to, say, access some tools that you keep in your bed or just anything in here, they can cut through that soft vinyl with a knife pretty easily. But if you're not the type of person to keep things in your bed all the time, you're just looking for general weather protection, or just to keep things away from prying eyes whenever you do have stuff loaded up, then a soft cover gets the job done nine times outta 10, and it's what a lot of people prefer just because it's gonna be a little bit more price-friendly and it's just simple. This cover's also really easy to operate. more

Now, if you have the factory prep package in your GMC, for me, this is a no-brainer. You know, any of these kits you go with, whether it be CURT, Gen-Y, or B&W, they're really nice, because they're just designed to drop straight into those factory pucks, and give you a very quick and simple way to set your trailer up and be on your way. This B&W option in particular, I think, is one of the more convenient ones, because to remove the gooseneck ball here, you get this trigger release and a handle. more

An In-Depth Look at the Yakima GrandTour Premium Rooftop Cargo Box - 2022 GMC Terrain- Video
Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima GrandTour 18 on our 2022 GNC Terrain. Now if you're looking to carry around some of those longer items like skis or snowboards and keep them out of your car or just carry around additional luggage in case you're full up on passengers within your vehicle, all those are really great examples of why you would need something like this roof box. Our roof box is pretty tall, about 17 inches tall, so we can fit a lot of those taller items in here like maybe some luggage. We also are going to get 18 cubic feet of space inside to store any of our items that we need. And then our roof box overall is made of a really nice durable ABS plastic, which means it's gonna hold up to those weather conditions, maybe if a rock gets kicked up from the road and hit it, that's not gonna be damaged at all. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look and installing the Firestone Ride-Rite rear helper springs for the rear axle on a 2022 GMC Sierra 3500. Now, the main reason you are gonna get bags is to really close up the void that jounce bumpers really don't do. So from the factory, these jounce bumpers sit here, and even though we have heavy-duty suspension, it's gonna allow it to sag. And mostly that's because of trucks have gotten more comfortable for passengers. And the problem is, is these are gonna go all the way down and your truck's gonna sag in that process before bottoming out. more

Here's how we have our battery charge line set up on our Canyon, and pretty simple concept. What this is going to do, is more or less trickle-charge or maintain your truck's battery whenever you're flat-towing it down the road. Because what can happen when you're flat-towing, a lot of your supplemental braking systems will draw power from the battery and things of that nature. more

A tow bar is (graphics buzzing softly) gonna be one of the five main parts that you're gonna need to flat tow your vehicle down the road. The other four (vehicles revving distantly) will include your base plate, your safety cables, your tow bar wiring, as well as a supplemental braking system. And when you go to pick out a tow bar, it's an important decision because this is gonna be responsible for a lot of the work, and this is somethin' that you're gonna be handling quite often when you go to hook up, disconnect. And so, you want something that's gonna be easy to use and pull your vehicle down the road in a safe manner, and one where it's going to keep it riding true behind your motor home, and be responsive, and things like that. And with the BlackHawk 2, it's a good all the round kinda middle of the road tow bar, but it's a really heavy duty tow bar. more

Hi, everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and later be showing you how to install this Access TonnoSport soft, roll-up tonneau cover on our 2019 GMC Sierra 2500. Now, with this being a soft cover, you're not gonna get the best security. Anyone with a knife could cut through this vinyl material and get to the contents of your bed inside. But if you're the type of person that doesn't frequently store things in the bed, like tools or other valuables, then, for me, security isn't as big of a concern. And really, most of the time just keeping the stuff covered and out of sight keeps it out of mind from sticky fingers. more
