It's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at installing the B&W base rails with custom installation kit on a 2020 Ford F-250. If you're looking to put a fifth wheel in your F-250, B&W is the base rail kit that I would choose to put my own F-250. And the reason being is B&W's kits are very well made, all of the hardware is great, and so are the instructions. And not to say that other brands aren't as good as B&W, I just learned that the consistency of quality really shines through with B&W. And really at the end of the day, you're just trying to get base rails onto your truck to allow you to get a fifth wheel in place, and they all follow an ISR standard, which basically means whatever brand fifth wheel you have, you'll see that there's quite a bit of spots for adjustment to be able to account for a good majority of 'em. more

Setting Up Your etrailer Hard Tonneau Cover - 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video

If you have a 2017 Ford F-250 and you're hauling maybe some more expensive tools in the back of your truck and you wanna make sure they're secure where no one can have access to 'em, they can't cut into your tonneau cover, and you want something that's gonna keep at a lot of the elements, then the etrailer hard fold-up tonneau cover is gonna be a great option for you. And really, there's gonna be two types of tonneau covers most people are gonna be looking at, and the big difference between them is gonna be the type of material they are. So you're gonna have, on one side, the soft roll-up tonneau covers. Those are great if you're looking for something just to keep out a majority of the elements. Now, where a hard to cover comes into it's gonna do that and keep any prying eyes or anyone trying to access your bed out. more

If you have a 2017 Ford F 250 and you're looking at something to carry your bikes from point A to point B, but you want save your hitch for something else and you don't want your bikes just to be thrown in the back of your bed willy nilly, then the Kuat Huk full-sized tailgate pad is gonna be a great option for you. So let's check it out. But like I said, this is a great way to carry your bikes from point A to point B. Like I was saying, you can use the bed of your truck to carry your bikes and I think that's a great way to move them. Now the only issue with that is your bikes can get caught up in one another. more

Feature Review on the etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2" Ball - 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer. If you have a 2017 Ford F-250 and you're looking for something to carry those little bit of a lower to the ground trailers and you wanna make sure everything's even, then the etrailer six-inch drop ball mount's gonna be a great option for you. Now, something important to keep in mind is that this is gonna be a ball mount that's specifically built to work with two-inch hitches and you're probably gonna have a 2 1/2 inch hitch on your truck. Now what you'll have to do, most likely, is just get a reducer sleeve so you can still carry this. And the reason why you might want to is, like I was saying, if you have any trailers that are a little bit lower to the ground, anything like a utility trailer, or a small boat trailer, that'd be perfect for this, especially if maybe you use this to carry your camper, and you have a fifth wheel in the bed of your truck, and you just need this additional way to carry those additional trailers. With the F-250, this is gonna be great, especially when you are trying to max out your truck and you are pulling a camper behind you. more

Set up: Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs on a 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video
Hey guys, it's take here with etrailer. Today we've got a 2022 Ford F-250 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Firestone Air Helper Springs. Air Helper Springs are going to be a suspension enhancement for the rear of your truck so that when you're hauling a heavy load in the bed of your truck or behind it on a trailer, it's gonna help to support the rear of your truck so you don't have so much sag in the back of it. The airbags we have on here today are going to have a maximum load carrying capacity of 5,000 pounds and a max PSI rating of 100 pounds. Now when it comes to having a set of airbags on your truck, I always highly recommend installing an onboard air compressor so that way at the click of a button you can inflate and deflate your airbags on your truck and you don't have to use a hose from a compressor at your house or your shop. I've had several times on the airbags on my truck where I was going to pick up a load and I couldn't decide whether or not I wanted to add the air to my airbags before I went to get it or if I wanted to stop at a gas station and try to find one of those free air pumps in order to add some air to it. more

Adding an onboard air compressor is really gonna allow you to adjust the air pressure in your airbags for whatever you're hauling. The thing that I hated most about having a set of airbags on my truck is not having air available to be able to put air in them. So adding an onboard air compressor is really gonna allow you to do that. With this particular air compressor, you're gonna have a dual path, so it will send a signal to each airbag. more

Install: Blue Ox Apollo Non-Binding Tow Bar on a 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video
Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at the Blue Ox Apollo Tow Bar on a 2021 Ford F-250. Many times I'll see F-250s either pulling smaller vehicles around. If this is their work truck and they want to have a small get-around car while on the job site, you're gonna see a tow bar attached to that vehicle. And something to consider with the larger 3/4-ton Fords is many times they're gonna have a 2 1/2-inch hitch and that leaves you to have to get a tow bar that matches up to that. You don't want to get a reducer or anything like that. So, the Apollo comes in as a very heavy duty tow bar, but also 2 1/2 inch for that shank to fit into your hitch with no problem. more

This system is going to be a great solution if you didn't get the puck system from the factory and you wanted one, or if you're looking for a truck on the market that doesn't have one, that's not the end of the world. You don't have to look for a truck that has it just to be able to get these same features. This system is going to be almost identical to the Ford factory puck system. You're gonna have the four pucks on the outside, which will accept your fifth wheel hitches, and then you'll have the gooseneck hole in the middle so that you can drop a gooseneck ball in there and be able to tow gooseneck trailers. more

Well neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look and installing the Firestone Airride Red Label extreme duty rear air helper springs on a 2024 Ford F-250. This is what our airbags look like when they're installed and it's really nice, they use a lot of brackets here that all bolt together, but there's no drilling required in all of this installation. So really it's not too terribly hard to do. The bags themself are awesome construction. They're double convoluted. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the B&W Companion Sliding Fifth Wheel for OEM-prepped Ford trucks. Now, today we have it in a 2024 Ford F-250. Now if you have the factory prep, or puck system as they call it, on your Ford, this is gonna be a great option, especially with those short beds because of the sliding function. And if you've towed fifth wheels before, you know that when you start to make tight turns with those short bed trucks, you can run the risk of damaging the cab corners with that fifth wheel hitting the truck. Well, the great thing about having a sliding fifth wheel means you can still keep your short bed truck and not have to worry about hitting those cab corners because when you make those tight turns, you can slide the head back, giving you more clearance. (metal thudding) Now in that sliding back position, you gain 12 inches of travel, and that's gonna make the world a difference when you get yourself into a tight situation where you just can't turn anymore but you really can't get out of there, sliding this is gonna allow you to get that clearance, make that tight turn, and get out of that situation. more

Today we have a 2022 Ford F250 and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install, the Air Lift WirelessONE suspension system for air helper springs. Now, adding air helper springs to the back of your truck is very, very useful to level out the back of your truck when you're hauling a heavy load. But having to add and subtract air can be a challenge if you don't have an onboard air compressor. This system that we installed today is not only a very, very powerful air compressor that is rated for 200 PSI, it will also have an air tank onboard so that it will add and subtract air to your bags very quickly and you don't have to wait for them to pump up because the air tank is just gonna deliver it. The last component in it is going to be the manifold, which is actually going to direct that air pressure wherever you need it. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ford F-250 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 7500 XL Air Helper Springs. Adding Air Helper Springs to the back end of your F-250 is gonna do a couple different things. First and foremost, it's going to add extra support in the rear end of your truck, whenever you're hauling a heavy load in the bed or if you have a trailer behind it that's causing the rear end of your truck to sag, it's going to help add support back to it to bring the truck back up to a level position. Now when using these, you still want to have a little bit of sag from factory ride height because your truck will have rake from the factory that is designed to counteract some of that weight. You will want a little bit of sag, but not, you don't want the back of your truck to be crushed by the weight that you're hauling. more

Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at this Offset Ball for your B&W Turnover Ball Gooseneck Hitches, and we're gonna be seeing it and how it fits on our 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty. This does exactly what it says it's gonna do. It replaces the existing turnover ball that came with that gooseneck hitch and puts the new one in, drops in the same slot with the same square base, but just offsets the ball by four inches towards the rear. If you've got something in your truck bed like a toolbox that's maybe going to just limit your clearance and you need some extra, this is a good way to do it. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. And today we're taking a look at the Draw-Tite Hide-A-Goose underbed gooseneck kit on a 2018 Ford F-250. You should be able to cover just about any camper and most heavy duty industrial loads whether it be heavy equipment or whatever else you may load up. Now the Hide-A-Goose is an interesting system. A lot of times on your fifth wheel, you're gonna have a lever on the side of the truck and that's gonna allow you to lock and unlock the ball in there. Now, some of those can get a little funky and they seem to hang up sometimes, whereas this is a little bit different. more

Air helper springs are going to be airbags that install between the bottom of your frame and the top of your axle. And they're designed to help to carry the rear end of your truck when you've got a heavy load either on the hitch or in the bed of your truck. The nicest part about airbags is that the air pressure is going to be adjustable. So you can adjust the stiffness where there's a lot of other components out there that you can use as rear-end enhancement, suspension enhancement that are not going to be adjustable. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer, today we're going to be taking a look at and I'm going to show you how to install the Air Lift WirelessONE onboard air compressor on our 2022 Ford F250. Adding an onboard air compressor to your vehicle is going to allow you to inflate and deflate your airbags on the back end of your truck with the push of a button. Airbags are a very, very nice accessory to have, but they can kind of be a pain if you have to constantly find an air compressor or try to take a guess of how much air pressure you're going to need, if you're going to pick up material or anything like that. An air compressor on board is going to give you the ability to change it as you need it. I had an air compressor on my truck paired with my airbags and what I found myself doing was is I would kind of over guess how much air I would need. Say I'd put 35 pounds in my bags, and I'd get a load of dirt or a load of rock in the back of my truck or load it on a trailer and then I found out I didn't need 35 pounds. more

Hey guys, this is Jake here with etrailer. Today, we have a 2022 Ford F-250 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Torklift In-Bed Camper Tie Downs. Now when it comes to hauling a camper in the bed of your truck, it's very important that you get it tied down properly, and these brackets are gonna help you do that. We do have some brackets available that mount inside of the bed. Usually, they go inside your stake pockets, and they have a little bracket that comes out, and you can tie down to that. In my personal opinion, those are not as quite stout enough for my liking for the safety of my camper, but these are going to be sound enough. more

DIY 2022 Ford F-250 Super Duty Installation for the TorkLift Tie Downs- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Ford F250 and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'mma show you how to install the TorkLift rear in bed camper tie-downs. These are gonna be a great sturdy option to be able to tie down the rear end of your in bed camper. Typically, we recommend picking up the whole kit so you can get the front stew and have all four corners of your in bed camper safe and secure when headed down the road. Now, there's a few reasons of why you would just need the rear kit. First off would probably be because if you had an accident or something like that and this kit got damaged, a good one that we've seen before is that somebody got hit from behind in an accident that it tore up their bars pretty bad so then they had to pick up just the rear kit and their front bars we're perfectly fine. more

Hi, John with etrailer. If you're looking to keep an eye on the cargo in your truck-bed, then checkout this GCH third brake light camera that we installed on our 2019 Ford F250 Super Duty. You guys that have the tailgate cameras know that if you have a tailgate down, you're just getting a view of your trailer hitch, the bumper hitch down there. Now, in a gooseneck or a fifth-wheel situation, that's not gonna help you out at all, so if we switch back now to that camera, we do have a clear shot of our trailer, and it's gonna help us backup and line up to it. So, a lot of you guys out there with toolboxes, you asked the question, "Is the toolbox gonna block the view" And in our case today, it does. Now, you can do a couple of things to alleviate this, obviously if you know, if you're working out there, you need a toolbox, they do have the ones that are flush-mounted with the side of the bed, so that would probably allow more of a field of view, so that you could see your gooseneck ball here. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus Rear Airbags on a 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty. Adding airbags to the back of your truck is really nice, because when you have a load that's really heavy or if you have a fifth-wheel or gooseneck that you pull, that truck is gonna wanna sag, and there are some downsides with the sagging. First off, you have a lot of stress that's put on the rear suspension and, honestly, the suspension really can't do a whole lot when it's already maxed out against the jounce bumpers. It also tilts the front of the vehicle up, so you're gonna have less braking, less steering feel. If you've ever had a truck loaded up, you kind of noticed that it gets real light in the steering wheel, and that's not exactly comforting when you're pulling a big load or have a heavy load in the bed. Now, these ones are rated at a 5,000 pound capacity and that's not to say that you're adding 5,000 pounds to what you can tow, but it can support up to that weight. more

Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at, and showing you how to install, these hammer lock coupling links from Durabilt on our 2018 Ford F250 Super Duty. So what these are gonna do is go through the safety chain loops on your truck here, and give you a good place to hook in your safety chains, whether you've got these oversized ones, or maybe some smaller, more standard sizes. That gives you a nice, easy place to connect because the safety chain loops on our F250 here aren't very easy to hook up to. You can see the smaller one, there's not really a great way to get it on there. more

Hey, guys. Kevin here with etrailer. And today, we'll be showing you how to install the CURT custom fifth wheel base rail kit here on our 2010 Ford F-250. Our base rails here are gonna have a nice carbide finish on it, which is gonna go nicely with another CURT hitch, just like our CrossWing that we have in here today. The brackets themselves are gonna come with all the hardware you need and are a custom fit for this specific year, make, and model. So it gives you a little bit easier of an install versus a universal kit where you'd have to sit there and really drill a bunch of holes into the frame. more

Welcome to etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at and installing the Hopkins Smart Camera Backup System here on a 2010 Ford F-250. with the Hopkins Smart Camera backup system installed it's gonna be a huge help to those of us out there on the road that don't have backup camera systems in here. So driving around, I don't have towing mirrors. I just have standard single plane mirrors and I keep them pointed down towards the back tires of my pickup truck so that way I can use them to line up in parking spots backing up the trailers. But that's also a little unsafe just because I don't really see what's going on next to me. more

Demco Recon Underbed 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 2013 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Curt under-bed gooseneck kit with the ability to use the demco recon for fifth wheel adapter on a 2013 F250 Super Duty. Now, it has all the same features of your normal gooseneck kit, but if you pick up the Demco Recon and plan on doing a gooseneck or a fifth wheel, you're gonna have that adapter and be able to hook up to both of them. Great part about this kit is it does actually come with the ball included so you'll be ready to use your gooseneck right away without having to pick up that recon. Now, this gooseneck kit is rated at 30000 pounds and it's got a vertical limit of 7500, so this is gonna be pretty heavy duty. So, whatever you're be pulling with your gooseneck this should hold up to it. Now, you're gonna wanna check to see what your vehicle's capable before just hooking up to anything. more

B and W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation - 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty- Video
Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today we'll be showing you how to install the B&W Companion OEM 5th wheel hitch with slider base here on our 2021 Ford F-250 Super Duty. If you own a newer Ford truck and you have the Ford towing prep package in it and you're wanting a 5th wheel hitch that can give you a little bit more turning clearance because you have a shorter bed and just can't make those tight turns like you could if you had an eight foot bed. Then the B&W Companion with slider base is going to be the hitch for you. With this slider base, it has feet designed to drop straight into the puck system that comes with your Ford towing prep package. The handles are super easy to use, simply just pull them out to unlock your hitch or, once you have your hitch dropped in, just pull 'em in towards the base and then lock 'em up with your pin and clip. This makes installation and removal for an empty bed to tow any other items, maybe you're moving some furniture, maybe you just wanna load this up with some other gear and don't want to have that hitch in the way, just makes it super easy to get it outta here. more
