Now, if you do have a Ford Edge and you've got a trailer hitch receiver on there, just let us know how you're using that trailer hitch. Are you using a cargo carrier, bike rack, utility trailer, or all the above Now, the gross trailer weight rating on this hitch is 4,500 pounds with a 675 tongue weight rating. The tongue weight rating is just any downforce pushing down on our receiver tube. We have a two-by-two receiver tube opening, which will accommodate many accessories like bike racks, cargo carriers, and just your standard ball. more

Roadmaster Battery Disconnect DIY Installation - 2018 Ford Edge- Video
Hi, this is Scott with etrailer and today we're gonna be taking a look at and installing our Roadmaster Battery Disconnect for our 2018 Ford Edge. The Roadmaster battery disconnect switch is gonna allow you to push a button inside your vehicle and just kick off your battery if you need to. Most of the time, one of these systems you're gonna need for flat towing, what it's gonna do is it's gonna allow for your battery to not get drained from your RV or your car because you're disconnected from it and you're not gonna have any accessories running inside your vehicle or pulling any kind of back draw to your RV. So what you're gonna need to do is have one of these installed and all you gotta do is push the button and that's gonna allow you to disconnect your vehicle. As far as installation goes, there's a couple extra things you're gonna need to get it installed. If you watch our video and you decide it's not something you really want to get into, you can take a look at our dealer locator and have it installed locally for you. more

Our Brake Buddy Classic 3 is gonna be a standalone braking unit for flat towing your vehicles. What it's gonna do, it's gonna allow you to have, if you have multiple vehicles that you use for flat towing, this is gonna be your one stop deal. It's gonna allow you to pull this unit out and put it in something else if you decide you wanna flat tow another vehicle that you have set up. Another nice thing about this unit, it's gonna allow you to not have everything wired in, and it's gonna really allow for an easier installation of your brake system for your flat towing needs. This unit's gonna match the intensity of your brakes in your RV, so it's gonna automatically sense your braking pressure that you're putting on your RV and transfer it back to this vehicle, so it'll match your braking. more

It's gonna last a long time and protected from the elements. It really has a good look to it, and it kind of matches with the trim package we have on this one, and it's really gonna hold up well. Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the CURT four pole trailer wiring harness on a 2020 Ford Edge. Now this is specifically for the SE and SEL models. Now if you're adding a hitch to your Edge, it's definitely worth picking up four pole trailer wiring harness and that's essentially to keep you safe and legal while going down the road. Even if you don't plan on pulling a trailer, it's nice to have this in place, that way, if for whatever reason you may need to tow a small trailer while you're moving or whatever it may be, you'll have this ready to go and that's gonna give you your running lights, your turn signals and brake lights on your trailer, keeping you safe and legal. And as far as the installation goes, this one uses a factory style plug that goes into the back of the taillights. So there's really not, you don't have to be a wiring expert to get this done. more

Hey everyone, Ryan here at etrailer, today on our 2022 Ford Edge Titanium, we're gonna be showing you how to install the CURT custom-fit vehicle wiring harness. Before we do that though, let's take a minute, check this out and make sure it's going to work for you. So, we actually have this kit on our vehicle right now and right off the bat what it's going to do is provide us with a four-way flat trailer connector. So if the wiring on your trailer looks something like this, what it's going to allow you to do is plug the trailer wiring in and get all those lighting signals sent back. So this is going to provide our trailer with the tail lights, turn signals as well as the brake lights. Adding a two inch hitch receiver to the back of your Ford Edge is gonna allow you to do a couple different things. You can add cargo carriers to the back of it to be able to get some of that gear outta your vehicle and onto the carrier. You can use it for bike racks if you wanna haul bikes to and from the trail, or if you wanna tow a trailer, I recommend definitely putting the wiring on while you're doing the hitch so that you always have the wiring there if you decide to pull a trailer. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2023 Ford Edge and we're gonna be taking a look at the CURT four-pole trailer wiring harness. Adding a four-pole trailer wiring harness to the back of your Edge, is gonna allow you to safely transfer the four-pole signals to your trailer. And that is going to be, the four-pole itself, is going to be a ground wire, your tail lights or your running lights, and then your stop and turns. So your left turn, right turn, and then combined signal to make your stop signal. This kit is gonna have a control module, which is designed to protect the vehicle's lights, as well as the trailer lights, if there are ever any problems on either one of them. more

This is going to be the aluminum hitch cargo carrier from Flint Hill Goods, they come in a couple different options. This one is going to be really lightweight, still gonna be able to support up to 500 pounds. So even though you have a decent amount of storage here in the back, maybe you wanna get some larger or some messier items, or maybe you're going on a long trip and you need a little bit more storage, a hitch cargo carrier like this one is a great lightweight way to do that, so let's check it out. How's it going It's Ethan here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Yakima Jet Stream Roof Rack System on our 2022 Ford Edge. With the Edge here, we don't have any sort of raised rails, any sort of flush rails, but if we do want to get anything longer or larger like rooftop accessories, whether that be kayaks, roof boxes, baskets, skiing/snowboard carriers, anything like that up onto our roof, we're first gonna need a roof rack system. So the process if we're getting it on this roof can be a little bit tricky, but we'll walk you through that. when we get to the install section, This is just gonna be a look at how that system fits on this car. First thing we'll notice are these crossbars. So on the top here, we can see that we do have this rubberized strip that goes all the way along the top. more

Our bike rack here is going to be a platform style bike rack weighted at 40 pounds for each bike and is going to be contactless frame support, meaning that's going to be great for our carbon frame bikes and our alternative frame bikes as well. In order to engage our tilt away function, we're just gonna go ahead and lift up a little bit on that, allowing us to disengage our lever here, and then just tilt our bike rack away from our vehicle which is going to allow us access into our trunk. Now it's not really enough room to sit down and maybe change my shoes, but it does allow me access into the trunk itself to maybe pick up my shoes or pick up my helmet or my lunch. Now, in order to get our bike frame back up, we're just gonna go ahead and grab it, lift up until we hear that click sound and that means it's back into place. more

This is gonna be a great option for you. First thing you're gonna need is a roof rack system for it to attach to, which we already have set up here but now we'll take a closer look at the box. So with the Edge, we have a decent amount of storage in the back, but maybe you have some longer, larger items you wanna get up on your roof. Maybe they're just gonna make a little bit of a mess. Maybe you just don't have room for them in the first place, but you want an option that's gonna leave you a ton of room on the other side of your roof rack system for other accessories. This is gonna be a really solid choice, so let's check it out. Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the SeaSucker Monkey Bars Roof Rack System and how it fits on a 2022 Ford Edge. So with our Edge here, we do have a naked roof, which means we don't have any raised or flush rails already installed on the vehicle. So if you wanna get a roof rack up on here to carry some larger accessories, your options are either something like this with the vacuum cups or to get a fit kit and mount your roof rack that way. Using that way can be a little bit more complicated and a little bit more involved. So if you aren't using your roof rack that often, you want a solution that you can just pop up on here, break down easily in store when you're not using it. more

You have them here on our front axle as per the owner's manual. These are gonna be on tire size 245/60-18. Make sure you check the fit guide at etrailer to get the right chains for your tire size. Also, just to clarify, the owner's manual does not recommend using chains on this tire size, but if you do live in a state or an area where you're required to have them legally, these are still gonna be a good option for you. more
