Hi everyone, Bruce here at etrailer. Today we're going to install and take a closer look at the True Course electronic sway control system on our 2016 Dutchmen Kodiak. If you're experiencing trailer sway with your trailer, this could be a good option for you. This is electronic sway control. It actually works very well. more

A Closer Look at the Tuson Trailer Sway Control System- Video
Hi, everyone, Bruce here at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at and install the Tuson Trailer Sway Control System. You may be asking yourself, "Why do I need a Trailer Sway Control System" or just wondering why anybody would need one. Well, if you've ever towed a bigger trailer like the one behind me, you can get sway from wind coming across the highway and cause that trailer to sway. And then you end up having to reach down and hit your manual brake controller to stop that sway from happening. Now, with this system, all you do is, when you do hook it up, it's gonna do all that on its own. more

Installation of the B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System on a 2020 Ford F-150- Video
Hey, everyone. Shane here with etrailer.com. Today I have a 2020 F-150 towing a 2023 East West Alta travel trailer, and I'm gonna walk through how to install the B&W continuum weight distribution. So if you've never had weight distribution, never used it before, what weight distribution is designed to do is take the weight off the back of the truck and put it back onto the trailer axles. If you don't have weight distribution, you have all that weight on the back of your truck, especially on a double axle trailer. What it does, it puts all that pressure on one axle in the trailer and that's where your sway comes into play. more

Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look and installing the Weigh Safe Weight Distribution hitch. And today it's gonna be on a 2023 Jayco Jay Feather. But if you have any kind of trailer, there's gonna be a Weigh Safe weight distribution hitch available in a weight configuration that you're gonna want, and it's gonna make a huge difference while towing. The weight distribution hitch is using physics to distribute the weight that's normally on the tongue, which that's when you see that trailer weighing down on the vehicle it's causing sag. And with these bars in place, that takes the tension off and distributes via the axles, and that way you get a nice even tow. But also that's gonna give you more weight capacity and just make that truck do a better job of hauling a somewhat heavy trailer. more

Setting Up Your Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch - 2014 Ram 1500- Video
Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Weigh Safe Weight Distribution Hitch on a 2014 Ram 1500. Now, while we're doing this on a Ram, this is gonna work essentially the same and install the same on just about every truck. Just make sure you get the proper application for your hitch and the weight of your camper. Now, clearly with our trailer loaded up on our Ram, it is squatting quite a bit and that's just gonna translate to not the best towing experience. The truck is gonna be struggling a little bit, and also, with weight distribution, not only is it gonna bring the sag or eliminate or reduce the sag on the truck, but it's also going to use leverage and physics to give you a higher towing capacity. So, overall, it's just gonna be a better towing experience. more

Now this evenly spreads out your tongue weight among all the axles of your tow vehicle and the trailer and it levels out your ride to give you a more controlled stability when driving, making turns, those kind of things. more

Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2024 Forest River Salem travel trailer, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution setup. This is what our setup is gonna look like before weight distribution, and you can see they're just towing it with a normal ball mount. This is a single actual trailer, so that's where we're getting a lot of our sway from. But another factor that you have to kind of take into effect is that we've got a lot of squat here in the back of the truck, so we've probably got a significant amount of tongue weight. What else is not helping us is that he has the biggest WEATHER GUARD toolbox that they make in the back of this truck. more

Tuson Asymmetric Sway Control Manufacturer Breakdown- Video
The hitch system I have is pretty mechanical, especially when it comes to the sway control bar. 'cause it's basically a bar that you're just tightening up. And it's designed, in my opinion, to control the small movements the trailer can have. But if you're like me, those aren't the ones that get me concerned or raise my anxiety up a little bit. It's when the trailer begins to get larger sway from 18 wheelers or just, you know, windy days. So I don't have a lot of confidence in the mechanical piece, and that's why I knew I had to find something else. more

Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control Feature Review- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at the equalizer weight distribution hitch with built-in sway control. If you're unsure about what a weight distribution hitch is, it simply uses physics with having tension here in our bars to take that tongue weight that's normally pressed down on a vehicle and just kinda springs that back up, and that's gonna translate to a less squatting vehicle with less rays in the front, which translates to not only a higher weight capacity when towing, but also better turning, better stopping, and just overall less wear on the vehicle as you're going down the road. The way that it works, it evenly distributes the weight over the axles of the towed vehicle and the trailer, it's gonna give you stability and control while doing that. Then it's really just gonna make a level ride for not only the towed vehicle but also the trailer. And also with the integrated four point sway control, it limits the side to side movement. So if you ever have a trailer that's kind of swaying back and forth, the friction on the steel on steel contact where the bar's made on the L bracket is going to eliminate that or significantly reduce that, which is really nice. more

Whenever you're towing a camper with a Honda Odyssey, typically what you're gonna see is you'll have an extreme amount of tongue weight, or even with a Honda Odyssey, a little bit of tongue weight is going to be enough to sag the back end of the Honda Odyssey because the suspension is soft. And when you're putting that amount of weight on the rear end, it's going to make driving the Honda Odyssey very, very uncomfortable. You'll see a lot of sway behind the trailer or with the trailer behind. That's what the problem was with this particular trailer. more

Now if you're not familiar with what a weight distribution system is or does, basically it's there to help alleviate the issues that you have with all of your trailer's tongue weight pushing down on your hitch ball. All About the Curt MV Weight Distribution System- Video
Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Curt MV weight distribution system. We're gonna go over some of the features and compare it to some of the other systems that we have available here at etrailer.com. So if you're new to weight distribution, you're not familiar with what it is or does, Basically speaking, this is going to install into your tow vehicle and attached to your trailer. So rather than having the one connection point between your trailer coupler and your hitch ball, which can oftentimes put a lot of weight down on that hitch ball, causing your tow vehicle to squat at the back end, putting a lot of strain on your rear suspension and bring your front end up, causing your steering to be kind of light, all sorts of problems and your trailer tongue to be pointing down. So this is going to give you a couple more attachment points and the spring bars that are going to be under tension to help bring that trailer nose back up so that everything is level, that weight is evenly distributed across all the axles of your tow vehicle and your trailer. more
