This fork mount rack is going to let you carry one bike with a thru-axle in your truck bed, SUV, or trailer, or even use your vehicle's utility track. And just to talk about that utility track installation briefly, the included hardware that you see here and the Torx key is going to let you mount this carrier in your truck bed's utility rack. And you're just going to insert the plates that you see here into the track and then pass the Torx bolts through the mounting holes on the rack and then thread them onto the track plates and slide the assembly anywhere along the utility track and tighten the bolts with the provided Torx key. more

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Kuat Huk half-size tailgate pad on the back of our 2023 Chevrolet Colorado. Now this can be a great option for you if you're looking at trying to haul your bikes, but you don't wanna throw 'em in the back of your tailgate because it'll get all messy and scratched up, but you don't wanna invest in a hitch bike rack because one, that's gonna be at a higher price point and two, maybe you wanna save your hitch for something else. Now, this is gonna be great for organizing your bikes and keeping 'em upright, so a lot easier to haul. As you can see, the way it's gonna sit up here is just gonna be sitting on its frame with the wheel on the back of it, and we're gonna have this strap that's gonna connect to our frame and oh, that's gonna use this, just this clip right here that'll cinch down this strap. And when you're taking it off, it's gonna be fairly straightforward. more

Tailgate pads are great, especially if you don't want to use your hitch for your bikes, or you're already using it for something else. What's it great about this one, in particular, for the full size is, is gonna be able to hold up to six bikes. So that's gonna be a lot more than a lot of your typical hitch-mounted biker racks, and you're gonna really be using the maximum amount of space in your bed. If you've got a truck bed, you might as well utilize that bed space but use the tailgate pad to keep your bikes upright and organized, keep them from banging together and causing damage to one another. But a two bike pad like this is a great option if you only need to carry two bikes. more

Kuat Huk Tailgate Bike Pad Review - 2020 Toyota Tacoma- Video
Hi Matt with etrailer, and today we're gonna be talking about the Kuat Huk Mid-Size Tailgate Pad on the 2020 Toyota Tacoma. Now this is gonna be a great option for trucks since it sits on your tailgate pad and it's very easy to use but since it just sits on your tailgate pad, it doesn't have a weight capacity. But keep in mind, if you want to put any heavier bikes up here like your e-bikes, it might be kind of hard to lift it up that high. Another thing to note, we're gonna have one strap down point just right on the frame. So we don't recommend using any carbon frame bikes. Something I do like about this pad is that it has these adjustable straps, if needed, you can actually take these straps out completely and move it over to another location. more

Yakima GateKeeper Tailgate Pad Review - 2020 Toyota Tacoma- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be talking about the Yakima gatekeeper tailgate pad on the 2020 Toyota Tacoma. The gatekeeper's gonna be an excellent choice for the Tacoma because it's gonna be able to hold up to five bikes at once, which is a lot of bikes, especially compared to a lot of bike racks that are mounted on your hitch. 'Cause a lot of times they can usually only accommodate up to four bikes, and if they can hold a lot of bikes they're gonna stick out by a ton. Now, something else I do like is the way it holds your bikes up in an organized way, rather than, if you kind of just threw your bikes in the bed they'd be kind of bumping each other, and scratching one another up. So those are definitely great features about this pad. more

Somethin' to note, it's gonna have the ability to hold up the two bikes and it doesn't have a weight capacity, so you can even accommodate your heavy e-bikes. Now, keep in mind, lifting up those heavy E-bikes will be kind of a struggle. It's gonna have one point of contact on your frame and that's gonna be tied down with that strap there. So, we don't recommend using any carbon framed bikes on here just in case it damages your frame. more

Yakima GateKeeper Tailgate Pad Review - 2023 Jeep Gladiator- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer and today we'll be talking about the Yakima GateKeeper tailgate pad for mid-size and compact vehicles on the 2023 Jeep Gladiator. What I like about this carrier is it's unique to trucks. Since it hooks on your tailgate, that's gonna be nice if you're already utilizing your hitch or you don't want to and you don't wanna deal with the extra length that a hitch bike rack gives to your vehicle. What's nice is that it utilizes the space in your bed so you can hold up to five bikes at a time with no weight limit. That's gonna be nice to accommodate those heavy e-bikes too. As for how it's going to secure to your pad we're just gonna have this strap here with this hook here and that's gonna secure your bike to your pad. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with Etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Huk half tailgate pad, and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2022 Ford Maverick. Now the Ford Maverick has a short bed, and that leaves you with not as many options for truck bed bike racks. If you've got a hitch, you can always put a hitch bike rack in, but truck bed bike racks are gonna be a little bit more cost effective and a little bit easier entry for some people that are just getting started with one or two bikes. Now the problem comes into play where the bed is short and a lot of times, you have to have the tailgate open in order to make those options work except for tailgate pads. So the Huk is going to be a really solid option for a tailgate pad. more

Inno Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2022 Ford Maverick- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Inno Velo Gripper Bike Rack and seeing how it fits on our 2022 Ford Maverick. It's gonna be a truck bed bike rack that clamps onto the side of your bed rails, allowing you to carry up to one bike up to 33 pounds. So on the Maverick, in theory, you could put one on either side, and that's gonna be true for any truck you put this on. You'll have to pick up another set of the clamps, because it only comes ready to go for one, but that is gonna be a limitation of this style, is that you are limited to the number of sides you have on your vehicle, which is two. So if you need to carry a lot of bikes, I would recommend something like a tailgate pad. more

Now, this version of the Huk is going to be considered the mid-size one, but it is going to cover the full length of our tailgate here on our Ranger. Now, the Kuat Huk is going to be a tailgate pad that can accommodate up to five bikes. If you're looking for something to carry around maybe not as many bikes, there is the half pad version, which only covers up maybe about 1/3 of your tailgate, but it can only accommodate up to two bikes. But this version able to accommodate up to five bikes is a really nice thing, especially when you compare it to some of our hitch-mounted bike racks. more

First, we're gonna take this strap and the clip and just pull up on the clip and pull the strap through. Now all I have to do is lift up on my bike, take it out. This is gonna be their smallest tailgate pad they make, the half pad, and it only covers half the tailgate. So if you only need to carry one or two bikes and you don't wanna deal with a hitch-mounted bike rack or any other version of a truck bed bike rack, then this tailgate pad could be the one for you. I'm very partial to it myself, I've used a tailgate pad in this half size on my own truck a number of times, and I really like it, because we can have the bikes loaded up on one side, still see out the back window very easily, not extend really anything off the back of our truck besides our tire, and still have access to our backup camera and the handle for our tailgate when the bikes are unloaded. So for me, this is a really convenient way to carry your bikes, because if you've got a truck bed, you might as well use it, and it keeps the bikes a little bit more protected by partially being in the bed. more

Hi, everyone, Aiden here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Swagman Impakt Fork-Mounted Bike Rack. It's gonna be a great way to carry one bike by the fork in your truck bed, and there's a variety of different ways you can mount it up. Right now, we've got ours mounted up to a 2x4 just using some wood screws to hold it in place, and it's doing a great job at that. But it comes with all the hardware necessary to mount it up to the Swagman PATROL Bike Rack if you wanted to add an additional fork block to that. Or if your truck has the utility track system like some Toyota trucks do or the Frontier does, you can mount it up to that as well. more

There's a few specialty ones out there that can do more but I'd argue that this is gonna be the easier method of doing it just because it's pretty easy to load up and it's very cost effective too. But there's a lot of options in the world to tailgate pads so what makes the Kuat Huk unique There's a number of things including the ton of padding that's all on the front, the top and the back which offers ample protection for both your bike and your tailgate. more

Now, this is gonna be the half pad, the one that can only hold up to one or two bikes but only takes up about half of your tailgate, so this whole side here completely open. Which is great because it doesn't interfere with as much that way. Now if we shifted this over to the driver's side of the Tacoma, our backup camera would be completely visible but the tailgate pad would partially block our handle to lower our tailgate. more

Kuat Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2023 GMC Sierra 1500- Video
Hi, everyone. Aidan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Kat Huk Tailgate Pad for full-sized trucks with the curved tailgate and seeing how it fits in our 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. Now for the curved tailgate, that's gonna be for most newer trucks. And you can really see that on the tailgate pad when you look at the middle. This section is quite a bit wider than it is on the edges because a lot of these newer trucks have a much deeper curve in the tailgate, and that top section there is a lot wider which means if you're looking at the tailgate pad as a way of carrying your bikes, then most of them are gonna fit kind of awkwardly because they bulge out in the center and don't fit very well on the edges. more

Kuat Truck Bed Bike Racks Review - 2011 Ford F-150- Video
Hi, everyone, Aidan here at etrailer. Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Kuat Huk Tailgate Pad for Full-Size Trucks and seeing how this fits on our 2011 Ford F-150. Now, a tailgate pad is a great way to carry, on this one, up to six bikes with you in your truck. It's great, because it utilizes the space in your truck bed while still keeping the bikes organized, because sure, you can throw six bikes in the back of your F-150, but they're gonna be banging around together, all in a big pile, potentially damaging each other, and they're not very secure. And this is going to hold them upright, side by side with one another, and the only thing that's gonna end up overlapping is the tires over your forks, which some people might not be super fond of, in those cases, maybe I'd recommend a hitch-mounted rack that keeps your bikes more separated, but for this, it's a great effective way to get a lot of bikes with you quickly and relatively inexpensively. This is definitely a more premium tailgate pad, just know that there's a reason for that. more

With both of those options, you are limited to the amount of bikes that you can haul. If you've got a truck, you've got a lot of extra space. If you're going on a trip, this might not be a great option for you because you're going to lose pretty much all your bed depending on the size of the bikes that you're putting in here. more

And as you can see, it just stores over your tailgate like this, and it holds onto your bikes with these pads and straps on the top. So it kind of turns your tailgate, or your bed, into a bike rack. It doesn't get the most secure hold in the world, but if you're already towing something or your bed is empty and you don't have anything else that you're bringing with you, this could still be a good option for you. more

Hey, it's Ethan here at etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima Gatekeeper Five Bike Tailgate Pad. Now it fits on our 2022 Nissan Frontier. So with our Frontier, we don't actually have a hitch on it so we can't get any hitch bike racks unless we install a hitch. So this might be the next best solution to get five bikes where we need them to go. It's just going to install right on our tailgate here and it turns your bed into a bike rack essentially. more

Hi everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima Gatekeeper tailgate pad for full size trucks and seeing how it fits on our 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. A tailgate pad is gonna be a great way to carry a large number of bikes with you whenever you're going to your destination. This one in particular has slots for up to six bikes that will require some stacking and some overlapping of wheels which isn't everyone's favorite. In those scenarios a hitch mounted bike rack is probably gonna be the better option for you just to more neatly hold the bikes but just know that it's not going to be able to hold as many in most cases. more

They're very affordable, they're easy to install, and it doesn't take a whole lot to get going and this one can carry up to five bikes. If you want to carry that many bikes, there aren't really many options out there. There's maybe one or two hitch-mounted racks that can do up to six, but that's not everyone's preferred way to go. more

Might be a good option for you if you're trying to get up to seven bikes where you're needing to go, but maybe you're towing something or you don't want the added length that a bike rack will add from your hitch, this could be a good option for you. The bike is being held by the frame on these hook and loop straps in the back. You can slide them up and down a little bit to adjust. If you do have a carbon frame bike, we recommend not using a tailgate pad or anything that holds onto it by the frame, 'cause it could potentially be damaged while it's driving. more

If you have a multitude of bikes and you're looking to transport them to a location but you don't wanna keep them in the bed where they'll roll around, scratch themselves in the bed and you maybe are already towing something or you just don't feel like the added length of a bike rack that can support that many bikes, a pad like this might be a good option for you. This Swagman Paramount Pad is actually capable of supporting up to seven bikes along the way, held in place by these hook and loop straps. To get our bike loaded up, first thing we need to do is open one of these straps up and have it ready. I will say for the Ram 2500, it is definitely a taller vehicle, so getting the bike on and off might be a challenge for you. more

Additionally, you could obviously always store your bikes just as they are in the bed of your truck, but that leaves them prone to rolling around and damaging not only the frame of the bikes themselves but the bed of your truck. This is a pretty large tailgate pad. It's a pretty big bed, but this tailgate pad is 62 inches. more
