Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the Galvanized Marine Grade Trailer Idler Hub for 2,000 pound trailer axles with the BT8 spindles and has a 4 on 4 inch bolt pattern. Now this trailer hub assembly is designed to fit trailer idler axles and an idler axle is an axle that will not have any brakes on it. This one here, this hub has a galvanized finish on it, offers excellent corrosion resistance, so it is ideal for use on a boat or snowmobile trailer and it will include everything shown here on the table. The idler hub with the pre-installed bearing races, the inner and outer bearing, the grease seal, a standard grease cap and then four of the half inch by 20 size lug nuts. Now the bearings, the races, the seal, all those part numbers are listed on the product page if you do need them. more

So for those of you that are deciding to do a little bit of trailer maintenance, you know, bearings and hubs are kind of a place to start, especially when you go to pack bearings. But a lot of times, you know, replacing the whole hub assembly is almost just as efficient as going through and kind of rebuilding everything, right And that's especially the case with this one. Installing the etrailer Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly- Video
Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today, we've got a utility trailer, and we're gonna be replacing the idler hubs on it with the etrailer.com Easy Grease idler hubs. Now for this particular trailer, we decided to go with the new idler hubs, because we we inchesre gonna have to replace the rear seal, which is what you have to do anyway if you're going to check and repack your bearings. We we inchesre gonna have to repack the bearings, check for damage. These have not been changed in quite some time, so what we did was just went ahead and ordered the whole new assembly, so that we didn't run into any issues when pulling everything apart. They're gonna have a galvanized finish on them to help resist against rust and corrosion. more

(coughs) Now, this trailer hub and drum assembly, if we spin it around here, it'll show you, it gives you the surface area for your brake shoes to grip when your brakes are activated. Basically, it'll work with both hydraulic drum brakes where your shoes will be applied here, or electric brakes where your magnet would be applied here. Now, this works on the 7,000-pound axles that have the 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern, the 9/16 inch wheel studs. more

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the etrailer Easy Grease idler hub assembly for 7,000 pound axles, has the 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this trailer idler hub assembly is designed to fit on idler axles, and idler axles are axles that have no brakes on them. Now, this includes a Dexter E-Z Lube and etrailer Easy Grease compatible grease cap that makes lubricating the bearings fast and easy 'cause what happens is on the E-Z Lube and the Easy Grease axles, they have spindles that have the grease Zerk fitting on the end that allows you to lubricate your bearings without having to disassemble the whole hub, and you do need to be able to access that grease Zerk fitting. So with this cap installed on the outside here, it has a rubber plug in the middle here. You can pull that rubber plug out and that'll get you gain access to that Zerk fitting on the spindle. more

Today, we're gonna take a look at this Dexter 12-1/4 inch e-coat oil bath hub and rotor assembly with the 8 on 6-1/2 inch bolt pattern and the 9/16 inch diameter studs and this is for the 7,000 pound axles. Now, this is an oil bath and hub and rotor assembly that is again designed to work with the 7,000 pound Dexter disc brakes. We mentioned the rotor diameter is 12-1/4 inches, bolt pattern of 8 on 6-1/2 inches, and the bolt diameter of 9/16 of an inch. The machine process on this process will minimize run out and warping. The contaminants can't get in between the rotor and the hub 'cause it's all one piece. more
