Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're taking a look at this Shocker 2 5/16 inch hitch ball with a 1 1/4 inch shank. Now, this hitch ball provides a connection point for your trailer, and it mounts with a 1 1/4 mounting hole, and the hardened steel alloy ball is strong and tough with a gross towing weight of 16,000 pounds and a tongue weight of 1,600 pounds. The ball is zinc plated to resist rust, and it fits all Shocker hitch bumper mount products that accept hitch balls, but it can also be used with other ball mounts that accept a 1 1/4 inch shank. Now, the built-in wrench flat makes it easy to hold the ball in place while tightening the nut, and let me just pull out my ruler here real quick. The ball shank length is sitting right at 2 3/4 inches long. As you can see here, the lock washer and nut are included. more

Curt 1-7/8 Inch Stainless Steel Hitch Ball Review

What's up, everybody out of here with Etrailer today, we're gonna be taking a look at the CURT Trailer Ball. When it comes to trailer balls, there's a couple of things we need to make sure of, to make sure it's gonna work. One, this is an 1-7/8 size, so make sure to check your coupler, make sure that it is the right size, and also keep in mind the weight that you're working with. It's gonna have a 2000 pound weight limit, and with that, that's just gonna make sure that the ball's in the right size, and it's gonna be able to handle some of the weight that you have on your trailer. And then another thing that really matters is the ball mount. So we are gonna have to pick one out, and one thing we need to make sure of is of course, we wanna pair it up with the weight rating of the ball to make sure that the ball mount is not gonna be limiting us at all, and also with the plate that amounts to, it needs to be in between 3-7/8 inch to 7-7/8 inch thick, anything more than that it's not gonna work, anything less isn't gonna work either. more

Review of Curt Trailer Hitch Ball - Smooth Ride Trailer Ball - C82KR

Michael: Hi there I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Curt RockerBall shock absorbing hitch ball. This is going to mount onto your standard ball mount, and it is going to provide that same attachment point for your 2/16 and 5/16 inch ball coupler on your trailer so that you can easily pull your trailer down the road. But where this is going to be different from other hitch ball options is that it's got this integrated shock drop technology on it.So you can see, this has a pivot point here that's going to allow that ball to rock forward and back. It's got cushioned isolators inside so that if you make a sudden stop, it's going to help absorb some of that shock as the ball moves forward. Same if you make a sudden acceleration, the ball will rock back to try and help smooth out that ride, so you don't get that sudden jerking sensation. more

Maybe a more sudden stop. This has a bushing on the inside that's going to provide some cushioning, and prevent that jarring motion and a lot of the rattle that we can experience from transferring into your towing vehicle. So it's going to make for a more comfortable ride, and it's also going to save some wear and tear on your truck and trailer. more
