Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Express Van - Curt

Speaker 1: Today in our 2015 Chevrolet Express Van, we'll be having a look at and installing the CURT Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 13040. This is what your hitch looks like installed. One thing that you'll notice is that our hitch is recessed behind our back bumper here. This will help prevent us from running our shins into the hitch when we're putting cargo in the back of the van. Welded onto the bottom of the frame of our hitch, and our reviver tube right here, we have our safety chain plate, which has a fairly decent size opening in it, so we shouldn't have much problem at all hooking our safety chains from our trailer onto them.On the side of our receiver, we have our industry standard, five-eighth of an inch diameter hitch pinhole, which we can use with a hitch pin to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories. On the end of our receiver opening here, we have this nice collar that's welded on to re-enforce our receiver, and to help give us a more finished look. This hitch features a 600 pound tongue weight rating with a 6,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating. more

Speaker 1: Today in our 2015 Chevrolet Express Van, we'll be having a look at and installing the Draw-Tite Max Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 75189.Here's what our hitch looks like installed. One thing you'll notice about this hitch, and this is really nice, is that it's recessed behind our bumper here, so when we're loading cargo into the back of our van, we don't have to worry about running our shin against this hitch. On the side of our receiver, we'll find two pin holes. The larger one here closest to the front of the vehicle is our industry standard 5/8" diameter hitch pin hole to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories.Closest to the rear of the receiver, we have a smaller pin hole here, and that's for use with a J-Pin stabilization device, which we have available separately on our website, and what those do is take away any shake, play, and rattle out of what's inserted in your receiver such as your bike racks or cargo carriers. Some bike racks and cargo carriers have anti-rattle devices built into them, but if yours does not, you can take advantage of that J-Pin stabilization device to take away that annoying shake, play, and rattle.Welded onto the bottom of our Class III 2" receiver, we have our safety chain plate here. This also goes to the frame of the hitch itself. There's fairly large opening on these plates, which makes it easy to hook most safety chains onto them. This hitch features a 500 pound max gross tongue weight rating, which is the amount forcing down, and a 5,000 max gross trailer weight rating, which is the amount you can pull. more
